The offense has a lot to do with the players though. There are plays to be made but guys just fail to make it for whatever reason. Like that one where Dwight was all alone in the paint and JJ just passed to someone outside the 3. I saw cuts but passes weren't made. Who do you see being that person who drives to the rim?

A recent report came out about his people are telling teams he'll only resign with NY and I think that's legit and the reason. I believe Otis called Denver but not having a 1st rounder hurts even if we still gambled.

Sometimes systems can have an affect and I thought Toronto's might've been the reasoning but he's clearly lost some speed which is one of the things that made so unique. The ability to at 6'10 with handles to get to the rim and create. He doesn't have the speed. He's settling for those 20ft leaners or fadeaways.

We live by the 3 and when the 3 isn't falling we are an below average team. When playoff time comes around defense will come even harder. Teams that live by it almost always die by it. I don't even enjoy watching us play. Even when shots are falling its just overkill with the 3's and until we find someone else besides Dwight to get high percentage points these types of games are going to be frequent against good defensive, elite teams.

Not yet but there are things you got to question. One of those for me is letting Hedo go just to trade for him 2 years later and a few steps slower. Do I think its gonna get better? How can I really say yes or no? How can anyone? I think the defense will get better but playoff type defense I just don't know. The offense not so much. Hedo has lost a lot of speed. It doesn't look like Arenas will be 100% this season. Everyone else are basically jump shooters. Living or dying by the 3 makes playoff life much more harder to be successful. Its gonna take an out of this world shooting for the entire playoffs to succeed and that's highly unlikely.

Its making Orlando look bad. Bron goes to MIA. So does Bosh. Boozer goes to CHI. Melo to NY which means Paul could very well be following. All Eastern teams. Dwight is gotta be thinking "are they going to be able to get me help"? Its looking grim. I think Otis might have to take more then a few steps back to move forward. If it means sacrificing this season for next it might have to be done.

One does have to wonder how long will management continue to trust Otis.

I agree with this mostly. I don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I'm not expecting him to hype anyone up and I tried to state that in my original post about speechs. I just prefer not to say anything then to say its just 1 of 82. I stand behind Stan as our coach though. I think people fail to realize how well he develop players and how good he really is.

I'm saying your overreacting because your failing to see the rest of my post. I mentioned how I don't need the whole "omg this is a huuuuge game" speech. JJ missed ONE game. We haven't had a backup big since we made the trades. Did you see the stats? Us not having a backup big had little affect. Do I think he had 100% confidence that we, on our home court, can win this game? Yeah I really do. I think the whole downplaying thing stems from talks that him and Otis and Dwight have had about not taking the regular season so serious but theres something to be said for a team that constantly finds themselves in a hole and tries to dig themselves out as much as they do. That Orlando team that went to the Finals, battled night in and night out and really I think had more of a mental toughness and thats when Stan was more of the old Stan.

BTW, if your a coach and you feel like you have a good chance to lose this game just because Bass was out, then shows the lack of confidence in the rest of your team. I don't think either have failed per say. I think they have their faults. Otis: Drafting Fran. Signing Rashard to that amount of money. Not resigning Hedo but trade for him 2 years later imo was kinda dumbfounded. Its possible that trading for Arenas could either be good or bad in the long run. Theres definitely things to question. His biggest failure is not being able to put another all star around Dwight but thats an easier said then done thing to do. SVG: Again, he really has been good. His faults is sometimes he gets to stubborn and lets his frustration get in the way but all in all hes a pretty good coach. My only gripe is this new attitude he has. Before the game he downplayed the Heat game saying its just 1 of 82 and I just don't agree with that. I understand its not THE game but you gotta be realer then that. I think it sets a tone and we came out with no focus. Sometimes I miss the old Stan but I think a lot of it comes from upper management. I think they want him to not be so frustrated so its hard to tell if thats really Stan. I don't need to hear this "rah rah" speech on beating Miami but if our coach is downplaying this game, then definitely the players are and you just don't do that when you make remarks the way they did in the off season. Players: They have their issues. Still refuse to see the game defensively first. Until we start doing that, we're not winning anything. So my point is, theres no failure. We're still a good team but theres blame to be spread around why were not a championship caliber team yet.
