Plus they want a legit big next to TD. That is not Bass. SA and Orlando aren't good trade partners. Go elsewhere.

Yeah but those guys have been there a while. Otis isn't that dumb to acquire bad contracts on aging guys just because what Mavs did.......Right?

Chant "MVP" when you have a mvp candidate.

That could be an oxymoron there. I don't know if he has the vision or the capabilities to pull it off.

And thats what I'm saying. Blowing it up would just not be ideal. We have to stay competitive. If you look at what Dwight's been saying, he wants a certain personality here. Its not just about the talent or some sexy name. Its a personality. Hedo to me screams of the opposite that Dwight's wants and I would even go as far as Arenas because as funny as he is, I never hear this guy talk about a championship. I know Dwight has supported Gilbert on his hard work so far but one has to wonder on if he questions his desire to win. Since I don't know Gilbert personally, I'll leave that open for debate. Imo, we need to guys who aren't just talented but want to win. Want to man up and play defense...Who play efficiently on offense.

Yeah it is and thats why I put Casspi first. I'd prefer to have him. Just scratch Udrih's name off. Nelson, Anderson or Orton for Thompson and Casspi. To me theres no out of this world deal to be had. That deal was CP3 last summer which came close but didn't happen. I would love to have that Gasol steal but whos out there, that makes sense for the other team to trade to us for our assets, and really can be that "holy **** we got ______!!:band:  :bigparty: " I just don't and the whole blowing up thing relys on Dwight. We can sit here and say if he'd be for it or against it. My opinion is he'd be against it. He looked as frustrated as I've ever seen him last year. Another year of that mixed with hopefull ideas might not be a good idea. AT LEAST, with Thompson, Casspi, Mayo, you have assets to trade to land other players. I think we're in bigger trouble if we blow it up with no true assets and just take on salary dump deals.

I'm not trying to compare to mavs I'm trying to be realistic. In fact, if you look at all my posts for the last month or 2, I've been saying we aren't getting Iggy, Ellis, Boozer (ugh. Hate the thought of him on this team), etc and I really believe that. I'm trying to be as realistic as I can by getting good players who have shown enough will in their respective time that they WANT to win and are willing to play defense with the assets we have. So since we both agree on the Mayo thing...Lets look at this. If Arenas does in fact reconstruct his contract, then it won't be 30 million. Also the original deal was Casspi OR Udrih. Not both. I rather have Casspi but I included the option of Udrih instead simply because I don't know with Arenas. Dude has an arthritic knee. Maybe Duhon gets into better shape, develops a better shot and comes back stronger then you got more stability there behind Arenas if he does come back strong but has to miss a game here or there. Who knows. Otis would know all that and that would be a judgment call hes better off making.

True but you got a balance. Thompson is young but can really be a force playing with Dwight and learning from a coach like Stan. Casspi I like too but young which is why I put him behind Prince. Prince brings that winning veteran type of aura in him. Only question mark I see really is if Memphis biting on the Mayo trade. They could just use him as a 6th man but I pray they don't and that they want salary cap relief but if we could land him he would be your explosive young sg who could grow with Dwight and pair up nicely with Arenas in the backcourt. Then theres Arenas. He'd be our starting pg so thats a  that can turn into a :panicworker: or can turn into a :bigparty: . You do have Udrih backing him up whos a solid pg with size and isn't quite the offensive force that Nelson is but is a vet who can man the position if needed. To me its realistic and looking at the Mavs who just won the title with their roster...I feel whats important is not so much the names on the back of the jersey. I mean I understand why you want Ellis and Iggy and all that but whats important is the hearts. We have guys who want to win and are pretty capable players with good solid bball intelligence and imo, this is realistic. It would also nice to add one more veteran. A glue guy. Maybe Richardson is that but I dunno. A veteran big would be ideal.

Nelson, Anderson or Orton for Jason Thompson, Casspri or Udrih and maybe Jermaine Taylor Then sign Prince. Use Gortat's exception for Mayo with a future 1st rounder or maybe do something in a 3 way to land him. Cut Hedo with Amnesty Clause. Reconstruct Gilbert's contract. Lineup: Arenas / Udrih / Duhon Mayo / JJ / Taylor Prince / Casspri / Richardson Thompson / Bass / Clark Howard / Hayes or Foster Otis...Where you at?

    Where Dwight may wind up

I was the original Magicman. Write it down...Take a picture...

Golden State confirms talks with Orlando

That or building a duplicate team like one that just won the ship. Dwights our number 1 and we need to build around him our way and the right way.
  12. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Exactly. Plus he's a better rebounder than Bass. He's a much better trade asset.
  13. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Man...we would be the front runner in any trade.
  14. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

We we're never in the running for Ellis OR Iggy. Everyone got all hyped up when Rudolph goes on umpalumpa's show and talks about how we could possibly land Iggy. The best we can hope for is hopefully landing Mayo, and even thats a stretch, and sign Prince and pray Gil is as nuts as he really is and restructures his contract for his daddy and we cut Hedo with the amnesty. If not, Otis....Your....FIRRRRRRRRRRED.

Time to go thug life... Arenas Jr Smith Beasley Millsap Howard

Could be the end for a lot of guys

I don't see us having any players that Philly or GS want. We had him in Gortat but we gave that up.
  17. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

If Monta doesn't go to Philly 5 bucks says he goes to LA. I wonder if we're contacting Memphis about Mayo at all?
  18. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

I can actually see this going down and Otis coming up with nothing.
  19. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Soo Otis...What are your plans now that your unemployed and will never be part of any sports team...Ever...
  20. Magicman28

    Your Ideal Squad?

Chris Paul Oj Mayo Iggy Al Horford Dwight Howard 6th man : JJ Redick or Jameer Nelson. I'm torn between the 2.
  21. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

That first deal is awesome. Now take it further and what would you do to fill the 2 and 4 spots assuming Iggy would play at the 3? Edit: I just notice our pg spot would be andre miller and duhon. I can hang with Dre for a season if we get Deron or CP3 but that could be a recipe for disaster.
  22. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

They were in the playoffs. I'm sure Collins wants pieces to contend now.
  23. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Everything you say is correct but again we're talking about a trade for a player in Iggy who's been a critical piece to his team, played in worlds, and an all star. As "interesting" as Orton is and as young as Anderson is no team in Philly's position would trade a caliber of player like Iggy for that combination. Orton, Anderson and Jameer does not improve them. Orton isn't going to start. Anderson isn't going to start over Brand and Collins loves Jrue.
  24. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

Come on man. Think like your the GM of that team. You really think Orton is a nice asset? You would really feel confident in trading one of the better 1 on 1 defenders in the league for Anderson AND and a PG when you have 2 carbon, younger copies of him in Jrue and Lou Williams? Hows that any better then landing Kaman or Biedrins?
  25. Magicman28

Could be the end for a lot of guys

I bet we can get Batum but only if we take on Roy's contract and send them Meer and Turk. This whole Iggs thing...Why wouldn't they just trade him to a western conference team like the Clippers for Kaman or GS for Biedrins? I just don't see Philly wanting anything we got even for a salary dump when they are trying to improve themselves.
