Because I don’t think you primarily need rebounds from your point guards. Any rebounds are a plus but not the core of what you’re looking for. I don’t know how many rebounds SGA had tonight nor does it really matter.

Fultz played 18.5 minutes, had 4 points on 2 of 5 shooting and 4 assists. A non factor in my book. Those kinds of stats from your starting PG won’t help you win games.

Fultz was basically a non factor. We can’t keep playing 4 v 5 on offense. And we missed a ton of shots and had 16 turnovers (many when trying to pass into clogged up areas near the basket). Hard to play good defense when you’re scrambling back and don’t have time to get set up. The bad offense also affects the defense.

Well Ball Junkie was all excited to go to this game. Got to see the reality of us against the better teams much of the time. Anyone know what our record is against teams over .500? Tried to google it but couldn’t find it.

I’ve lost count how many times the TNT announcers have commented on our lack of shooting. More than 10.

Hasn’t been very interesting, has it? Feels like Oklahoma has been very comfortably ahead since the second quarter.

When teams clog the middle against us we have big problems. Nothing new there unfortunately. We really need a starting PG who’s more of an offensive threat.

We’ve gone 5-1 past couple of weeks so they dropped us two spots this week. I guess I don’t understand how they come up with this stuff.

I hope for you and your son’s sake (and all of us also) that it’s a good game. We lost to them last time but a lot of our team was out, including Fultz, Wagner, Harris, and Wendell. That won’t be the case tomorrow and we’ll be at home.

I'm not following this thread at all and have no idea who Risacher is, but what a totally weird post. Guy obviously has some issues. I hope he doesn't let the door hit him in the tuchus on the way out.

At this point it’s not about the trade deadline, which has elapsed. It’s about observing the team, and suggesting how we can improve. I think that’s fair game at any time.

I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about this stuff. Work keeps me too busy. But I saw your comment and felt it needed a response. So I won’t be writing to Weltman. We know how the better teams play us. They pack the paint and dare us to shoot, or force us to drive into triple teams and turn it over. Quite often, that results in a blow out. We’ve seen plenty of it already. We don’t need to wait until the playoffs so we can see it again.

Fultz has been in the league since 2017. In those seven seasons, there have been two where he’s played more than 20 games, last season and 2019-2020. That’s all we have to go off but last season, in 60 games, he attempted 1.5 three point shots per game on average, and made 31% of them. In 2019-2020, he played in 72 games and attempted 1.9 per game from 3 and hit less than 27%. For you to assert hat he will become an effective three point shooter or even a reasonable three point shooter given this record is just silly. I doubt that even you believe it.

Good job by our guys. To keep it in perspective, against a very bad 10 win team on the second night of a back to back. And we were at home. We also need to play well against better teams.

Well not scoring many points but at least we’re a little bit ahead, so not another awful start.

You’ve predicted we’d make the playoffs every year for like the past five years.

Look everyone wants this team to be as good as it possibly can be. We’re all Magic fans, especially those who’ve stuck around for more than a decade watching terrible basketball. The area of disagreement is whether we become as good as we can be by doing something with a trade this season or going with what we have. I was in the group who believed we’d be better off trading for improved guard play. We’ve seen enough of our team these 50 games or so for me to be convinced it’s an obvious weakness and makes our two best players less effective than they would otherwise be. Regardless, it didn’t happen. All we can do now is hope that the “good” Magic show up for the remaining games rather than the Magic team we saw last game. I don’t see this team going anywhere in the playoffs as currently constructed, even if we do get there.

We are favored at home tonight by a very substantial 10.5 points against a bad Spurs team. Which Magic team will show up tonight? The defensive juggernaut that we’ve sometimes seen, which also translates into easy buckets offensively on turnovers and missed shots, or the lackluster group that got blown out last game against Miami?

So when do we expect most of the deals, if there are any, to happen? Tonight or tomorrow?

I wonder if Travis Diener is still playing. Always liked him :) wouldn’t cost much either. Maybe include Jeff Turner in the deal?
