I agree. Yes we’re better than our previous teams that collectively had the very worst cumulative W-L record in the NBA over the past 10 years, but that’s an extremely low bar. I too want to see this team live up to their potential.
-
It’s not relevant to what I said.
-
Wasn’t Trevelin Queen the G League MVP recently? Unfortunately you just can’t reliably extrapolate performances in that league to the NBA.
-
That’s correct
-
I addressed it earlier (see first post above) but obviously medical staff has laid down some rules. Whether this is the right approach or not remains to be seen. Probably cost us the game tonight but maybe not playing him big minutes in a back to back will result in more future wins this season. Hard to know.
-
I agree with you about Suggs. I didn’t understand that either.
-
True but without the third quarter collapse it doesn’t come down to individual plays in the 4th
-
They announced before third started that Isaac wasn’t going to play for rest of game. And late in games, AB freezes and won’t shoot. Announced Markelle was out for injury maintenance before game started.
-
Third quarter was the big swing. That’s how we lost this game.
-
He was freezing cold. That really would be risky at that point. If he played some in second half it would be different.
-
I think it actually depends. If we can only have 10 minutes/night of JI and it’s not enough to move the needle, then I’d rather go for increased minutes even if there is some risk. A chance for an effective JI, even risking injury, is probably worth more than a Ji who is protected so much that he doesn’t really help your team win due to minute restrictions, even if he never gets injured.

Ugly game so far.
-
You really need multiple shooters otherwise they key on the one guy you have out there who’s a threat, and still clog the paint against everyone else.
-
Yeah but a development project, obviously not someone we expected to be able to contribute any time soon. I mean how can you argue the fact that after however many years it is with Weltman that this team still can’t shoot? Was that inevitable? No. It’s a result of choices made over that time period.
-
And the thing is, it doesn’t have to be like this. We could have taken a shooter with pick six in the draft this year, for example. We just haven’t prioritized building a team with shooting, instead it’s been all about length.
-
Well said. Out of reactions, would have given you a plus 1.
-
Yes, agree
-
AB had a very bad game, no question about it. And at the end of the game all he wanted to do was pass it to Paulo and run away, even if he had a good open shot.
-
Might not have worked either. When he tries to drive into double or triple coverage, he often loses the ball.
-
At least we moved the ball for an open look on the last play, something we hadn’t been doing. Unfortunately it resulted in a three point shot. But your larger point is right on target. We should never have been down 1 with five seconds left to begin with. That’s a result of the “entitled basketball “ you’re talking about.
-
Amen
-
It’s because we stop moving the ball. You’ve either got one guy dribbling into 3-4, or people putting up three’s
-
In the clutch, our team stops moving the ball, and Black doesn’t even want to think about shooting.
-
We should be but we aren’t
-
We’re not nearly good enough to waltz and win
