Don’t agree with that strategy. They will get slaughtered and there’s nothing watchable about that nor does it help young players develop properly. You need to be competitive if possible and you need at least some veteran presence out there. You should give the young guys burn, sure, but it needs to be balanced.

If the cost of that is fielding a terrible team year after year after year hoping to strike it rich with a sensational draft pick, then no thanks. Been there.

I completely agree. I was just hoping we could try to remain a little bit competitive while moving in a different direction. Given the action today it seems we’re accepting being really awful for an unknown period of time I’m concerned with relying on Fultz or Isaac given the injury histories. Also, neither one shoots very well, which makes me feel like we are retracing some of our steps but with younger players.

I mean it could happen but if that’s your strategy, be prepared for a lot of losing years because it doesn’t happen very often. More likely to draft solid to good players and have a re-run of the past 9 years.

Not sure. I’m debating if I want to watch any more games this season. Probably would be more fun to watch our G League team if they would put that out there instead. Might watch just for laughs.

Also, as much as everyone hopes for a generational talent in the draft (I remember when people were saying that about Wiggins), it’s really unlikely to get a rookie so great that he can single-handedly transform a bad roster into a contender. It happened to us twice which made some of our fans think it can happen more often than it actually does.

Yes. We will go back to being a complete doormat. Let’s hope it works out better for us this time. 9 years ago I predicted that our decision to tank could result in us being bad for a very long time. The same thing could easily happen again, especially with very few players to lend a solid veteran presence. I think we learned you can’t just throw young players out there, have them make tons of mistakes, and get obliterated. It builds bad habits and a losing culture.

Well, we don’t all agree on very much but I think most of us agree that it will be shocking if we go through this trade deadline with no moves, as we’ve done so many times in the past. So I keep checking to see if anything has happened, and am hoping for the best.
