Doubt Gordon is a franchise player. He certainly hasn’t shown that yet. A good solid player who defends very well, yes. But franchise? He’ll have to show a lot more than he’s shown so far in five years.

I’m sure we’ll get into the usual argument soon about trying to lose all the rest of the games (not in favor). Even that’s getting a little stale, though. LOL.

The same wisdom that’s gotten us where we’ve been these past 6-7 years. Make the team better by making it terrible and hoping history repeats itself and we hit a draft jackpot. Wreck all your young players with constant losing. In my opinion, this is a recipe for us remaining bad forever.

I think you’re describing paralysis for fear of making a mistake. These guys are pretty experienced, and I would hope that’s not the case.

The only thing that concerns me a little about Bamba’s potential is how casual he often looks. Even or especially if he’s a bit intimidated, I’d like to see a little more intensity, compete on every play, take it a little personally if some much shorter guard scores a layup on you. I haven’t really seen much of that from Bamba yet, except in small batches here and there. The great players are all fierce competitors. Is Bamba?

Respectfully disagree. Philly was the exception. Very high risk because if you don’t hit the jackpot with an Embiid, you’re guaranteeing that you will be terrible with no end in sight. We had the worst record of any team in the NBA for a combined 3 years during Hennys tenure. That qualifies as tanking to me.

And this tunnel vision, fixating on trying to force history to repeat itself, is exactly why we’re in the fix that we’re in. Ruin the team to get high draft picks. Ruin all the players and the culture. Don’t try to win or incrementally improve. Just keep going year after year after year hoping for the next Shaq. It’s like a person who would rather spend their money on the lottery in real life instead of working on a viable plan for retirement. It’s a fools game. I would also remind you that we weren’t intentionally tanking when we landed either Shaq or Howard. We were never intentionally bad until Hennigan.
