TMF's Game Thread Retirement - Thurs. Oct. 18, 2023
harryfromphilly replied to TrueMagicFan07's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
It really wont be the same without Your threads TMF But You have earned it Put Your feet up, lol. -
yeah that was amazing my bad
-
Magic up by 2 at the half. Second unit doing it tonight. Starters look slow. Paolo only 2 pts and Fultz handle is sloppy. Franz doing well Harris, cole and mo doing it for 2nd unit
-
Good to see You TMF! It's not a magic season without You.
-
Where is TMF tonight?
-
so, is tonights game televised? i cant seem to find a listing
-
I dont know if this is a prediction or a wish, lol But for me, I am hoping to make the playoffs, NOT the play in. Even if we go out in first round, I would like to see us solidly in that top group.
-
ok so this "trade Cole" rumor came from nowhere and has not been supported by any major player. Not the magic, not cole and not any reputable journalist But if You google Orlando magic, there are 3 stories on the first page repeating this rumor. I hate sloppy, rumor based journalism
-
that is exactly the point i was trying to make
-
here is a story including the magics statement https://www.tsn.ca/nba/nbpa-calls-orlando-magic-s-ron-desantis-donation-alarming-1.1991997
-
Desantis It came out that they made a 50,000 dollar donation to his never back down fund. Which, has stirred quite a few reactions on the net about their wanting to have it both ways. I wont get into that, you can google it if you want. The magic organization has come out and said it was not an endorsement of him, but help for a florida politician from a florida company. Again, I am not coming down on either side of this. This is not the place. But it does seem a bit 2 faced, which ever side you agree agree with. Either you support diversity programs and LGBTQ+ initiatives, or you support a candidate who does not.
-
Does the Magic being the first NBA team (ever) to endorse a presidential candidate count as controversial?
-
I am not surprised have not seen much of him lately. Especially was curious during draft and free agency. Figured it was just my timing, but maybe not
-
yeah i would agree better but i was thinking the shoot first, chuck 'em up mentality but Mauro says i'm wrong, herro more team oriented so mea culpa lol
-
I have not focused on the heat, except when they played us and in the playoffs (and hero was out) But isn't hero's play style vey similar to coles?
-
yes i have been saying this for a while he would have a double double every game if guys could shoot lol
-
I agree as well. Not sure how it works, but can we extend at any point? I.E. I said before that I want to see him untill the trade deadline, see what kind of player he is with a full healthy summer. Can we extend or trade at that point. (or do nothing?)
-
yeah SI just reported deal done, but no details
-
Hi TMF welcome was wondering where you were didn't think you would miss this lol
-
if we dont do something soon the pot gonna be empty lol
-
ok since we have 39 minutes now till any potential action, i'm going to ask a very naive question. If the teams and players are not supposed to talk untill 6pm, where are all of these "links" coming from? If reporters are talking to teams and they are expressing their interests and that is where they are coming from, that does not guarantee player interest. Or vice versa, And if they are talking to both and acting as a kind of intermediary, i would think that would be against the CBA

Beede updated his article and says no word yet on Bol https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2023/06/30/orlando-magic-guarantee-contracts-markelle-fultz-gary-harris-nba-free-agency/
-
This is the beginning of the article. States all 3... then ignores Bol thats why I am confused: According to Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel, the Magic is fully guaranteeing the contracts for Markelle Fultz, Gary Harris and Bol Bol. Fultz had a partial guarantee of $2 million, but will now make $17 million for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Harris had no money guaranteed, but now the Magic has kept them on board for the upcoming season.
-
Looks like we just guaranteed Fultz, Harris and maybe Bol? (the reporting on him is vague) Does this mean anything? Are they keepers for the season? Or did we just guarantee so that we can trade?
-
So thats Reeves, Stuss, and now DiVincenzo that I am hearing rumors about. Thoughts? And what do we do with Moe?
