I think we see a fair amount of DJ and MCW tonight. Young should give DJ fits and I expect to see MCW out there making up for that.

This may be a Fultz breakout game and think he will give Trae Young some problems on D. Also interested to see if last years rivalry between DJ and Young will carry over into this season. Should be a fun game regardless.

It's incredibly frustrating for me for so many of you to (rightfully) identify Fournier as a weak link on this team but you're unableto define why Fournier is a weak link on this team and apply that to other players

Simple he tries to play like a #1 option on offense when realistically he’s like 4 or 5 on a good team. He over dribbles and plays too much buddy ball with Vuc. Only positive is when he’s hitting his shots but he’s been as inconsistent as they come over the last 2 seasons. Used to love Fournier before he got into his own head with grandeur.

Yes, I agree. If you watch his college videos he's got a nice high release (like on his current mid-range shot) all the way out to beyond the college 3pt line. As noted his spot up shot from behind the NBA arc is a totally different release (as is his FT shot for whatever reason). In general it appears to me that he prefers to shoot off the dribble, which is good seeing as how he's going to have the ball in his hands and creating his own shot most of the time. Hopefully we'll see improvement as he regains strength and confidence.

Well said sir! I didn’t watch him in college but just from knowing the game of basketball I can tell that’s not his natural shooting form on those 3’s. There’s no hitch in his midrange shot but a noticeable one from the 3 and he doesn’t have that high release either like you pointed out.

Thats honestly the effect of Fultz. People are looking forward to see more of him.

Don’t sell this team short. It’s more of the fact we had an all star, we were the best defensive team after the all star break, making the playoffs, pulling off the upset in game 1 of the playoffs, and then of course Fultz adds to the excitement. People see an actual team in Orlando now and want to take the time and watch them. We have continuity going for us and people are excited about what’s being put together with this Orlando Magic squad.

We didn't really need hindsight. In the moment we knew we fleeced them

Lol that’s very true. Glad to be on the winning side of one of those trades for once. It’s astonishing they gift wrapped him for us and just handed him over. There’s  going to be a chip on his shoulder for the rest of his career and we will benefit from that nastiness he will bring every night.

We traded him for the other guy that would go behind the back and dribble it out of bounds or get it stolen by the defender. We fleeced the 6ers in that trade but hindsight is always 20/20. Either way glad we took the gamble and hopefully found our PG of the future.

I am so excited to watch our guys this year. This may be a piping hot take, but I'm really not ruling out a trip to the FINALS if EVERYTHING falls into place. Our depth is very deep. Aminu defending other benchs will make us stifling. JI and Bamba look poised for breakout year. AG is becoming THAT guy. Fultz COULD be #1 pick Fultz by March. Evan could bounce back. Do you guys agree or disagree? Obviously this is ABSOLUTE best case scenario for the season but I'm not ruling it out one bit

I absolutely see this happening if everything works out like you stated above. Also health will be a big key again for us this year if we want to improve on last years performance. East is much more wide open now with both Lebron and Kawhi gone out West.

I thought there had been a crackdown on reddit streaming this summer. Didn’t streaming subreddits get taken down?

There was but they apparently are still posting links. There’s currently one up for the Lakers vs Golden State. Hopefully one comes up for the Magic the closer we get.

Is this legit?  Making me input my credit card info with the promise of never charging me.  Seems questionable to me.

Go to google and type in “Reddit nba live streams.” You can do this for all your live sporting events. You can thank me later.

Everything was a circus with fultz and would be regardless with how we played it. Not commenting allowed us to have control over the story.

The latest circus was by design and also controlled by the team. They invited all of the central Florida reporters to come film him shooting during an unofficial practice days before media day began (a practice that media has never been invited to before.)

It's all orchestrated with specific intent. If they're at the point where they're hyping him up, the hype is intentional and we should be excited that this is where they think the narrative should be.

Couldn’t agree more. The narrative has always been he may be ready but we aren’t rushing him by setting a date for his return. Now they have done a complete 180 and hyped him up like he was our #1 pick this last draft. I am very excited for this year and Fultz will be the key to unlocking this teams full potential. Just hope he doesn’t have a setback like you previously pointed out could happen but I like our depth regardless.

We are either going to come out of the gate swinging with haymakers or end up getting knocked on our faces lol. Either way this is going to be an exciting season! If Fultz stays healthy all year and the core guys take another step in their games we will definitely be serious contenders this year coming out of the East starting with our defense.

Mo still looks taller (maybe they've both grown). It's always interesting if the young players got taller or stronger.

Whoever's in the costume must be like 6'8"/6'9" ha

Is it just me or do the claims of JI and Bamba putting on a ton of muscle seem to be legit? I don’t remember seeing any muscle on them last year and they both are looking noticeably swole in this pic.

Ball movement and making the right play is important.

You just want him because he's a brand name. It's much more likely he'd be a negative player than a positive one.

Is not like the 2nd unit is compromised of all bench players. You will always have a a starter  playing in the rotation.  Wether is Vooch, AG, Fultz/DJ or Isaac.

The offense will flow between different players and that is what the problem is with Melo. He is used to be the main guy in offense and center of attention. He doesn't know how to play another role.

Fair enough. I understand your points of view and get why the Magic wouldn’t want him here. I also wouldn’t mind the gamble honestly. With that being said what the Magic really need is 2016-2017 Fournier to come back this year and not suck it up as bad as he did last year. That would fix our scoring issues and if Fultz is healthy that should also help us in the scoring department.

Moreso than that, his offense comes at the expense of others.

Realistically who on the second unit would he be taking shots from besides Ross? We don’t know if Bamba will be able to handle extended playing time much less handle Offensive responsibilities. Fultz is a toss up and I’m ok with Ross having a little better shot selection and bringing in another potential scorer/former All Star. It probably won’t happen but would be excited if it did. Plus gives us something to talk about during the dreadful offseason.

He's super inefficient and plays no defense. That's the exact opposite of what this team needs or has gone after. It ain't happening.

I don’t mind inefficiency in spurts especially if it can turn into big nights on occasion. Let’s not kid ourselves and say Ross didn’t shoot us out of some games last season. If a determined Melo can come in and save his career by playing well for us why not give it a shot? We have nothing to lose bringing him in and taking one of the 15 roster spots. We can gain offense and make up for the lack of D with our superior team defense we will be playing this year. Also I’m not a Melo fan by any means but if he can put the ball through the basket and is a proven scorer why not give him a shot?
