That said, I think a lot of people’s fears (mine included,) is that none of these young guys will be in a position to develop or reach their potential without playmakers around them. We sorely need 1.) at least one more shot creator, cause who knows when Fultz will be back, and 2.) shooters to space the floor for good looks. Someone who hasn’t been mentioned much is Harris. If he could play at a respectable level, that could help our offense a lot, but I thought he was awful with us so far.
Kuminga and either Bouknight or Keon are shot creators. Get Markelle back healthy to guide these young guys and be his best role as a floor general. We can all nit pick about this and that but this is a work in progress and will not happen overnight. Harris is an afterthought to me. Expiring contract and trade chip at best.

However at this level it's mental. Gordon didn't have it. No confidence in his shot...which looks fine by the way. Also no inside game, post moves...that's on him. Body too skinny, no elite first step to blow by defenders to the rim
Does Kuminga have that step?
Kuminga is big, fast, athletic, and physical. I have a question. Why do we keep comparing former Magic players and failures to players in this draft? I understand we don't want to make the same mistakes but these are different players and different circumstances.

I suggest they should reconsider. Lol

Who thinks Corey Kispert at 8 is reasonable? Lol. For a change WeltHam should acquire an extra 2nd or two and take advantage of this deep draft.

It worked out pretty well for Detroit. You say it doesn't work but what is the alternative?

Moses Moody might be the most uncreative offensive player I have ever seen in my life. He is basically a spot up shooter. No surprise many Magic fans love him. Keon or Bouknight at 8 please!

Sometimes players can develop their shooting, and shot selection can improve with age and experience, but there are more examples of players that don’t.
The way this team has been built in recent years I’d like to see us try to draft players that can shoot and score, rather than pin our hopes on fixing and improving their shooting.
So what. Just because Isaac and Gordon didn't that doesn't automatically mean Kuminga won't. Who else are you drafting at 5 that as you say can shoot and score?

He is only 18 and his shot doesn't look that bad. Uber athletic and finishes well with both hands. He has questionable shot selection at times but that can be fixed.

I like both of these players more then most on here. And hey if we are not going to be good the next couple of years we might as well be fun to watch!

Kuminga basically played in the G-league with grown men as a HS Senior. Yes I am disappointed overall but he would still be a great pick with higher upside then anyone on our roster currently.

Cursed!

These next 30 to 60 days are the most important in the recent history of this franchise. I am not being hyperbolic. It can change everything quickly!

Agree!

5 minutes ago, JJZFL said:I agree again. We may even wait to interview altogether until after our draft positioning is known.
This makes total sense. We are due for some lottery luck! The statistic Gods have been penalizing us for years for the 1 out of 66 chance in 1993!

Just now, JJZFL said:What is your take on his post? You think Clifford decided to leave because he thought this team had good prospects?
Clifford's niche is taking below average teams and making them better by slowing tempo and playing defense. He has no patience for younger players. Bianchi should not be allowed to talk about the Magic on local radio! This is a good job with a bright future.

1 minute ago, JJZFL said:We can call him names but I agree with the substance of his post.
Of course you do. You are always negative about this new direction. Not shocking!

1 minute ago, All Eyes On Me said:I dunno.. for one Bianchi is a terrible reporter whose been anti Magic since I was a kid. He seems to love hating the team. Also, there’s way too many unknowns right now to know how long the rebuild will take. I believe it’s deeper with Clifford, I don’t think he agreed with or supported trading Vooch and I think management did that without his sign off.
Bianchi is an idiot when it comes to talking about the Magic. Everyone on here has more Magic knowledge then he does!

I want my FSU guy Sam Cassell!

Clifford was not right for the rebuild. Need a coach who will focus on player development. But as David Bauman pointed out, Alex Martins is still in charge and for what? He is great at sales and marketing but does not need to be in charge of the organization.

Chicago won the coin flip so they are eighth.

Kuminga is #5 on my wish list but to me he is part of the big 5 in this draft. One thing he has going for him is he is almost a year younger then the other top 4 prospects.
-
Thank you Clippers!
-
OKC should be stripped of a draft pick. 1-22 since 20-27 and blatantly tanking is so bad for the league! It might not be the best for us but I am ready for either playoffs, play-in, and everyone else gets equal draft odds.

I didn't know that buying Birch out would give us 33 minutes of James Ennis. WTH!

Not that difficult. Take Kuminga at 5 and Bouknight at 8. If not available then take Keon Johnson at 8. Why the Moody love with Magic fans I do not get. I should not be surprised because many people here thought in 2016 after signing Biyombo and trading for Ibaka that the Magic were going to do this twin tower thing and going to be good. No basketball acumen at all
