I know many of us are negative, but damn all 3 of our main forwards are toast. I hope in the coming months we look to trade away every body that has value while we heal. It's done folks, wrap it up. And don't tell me we can't make trades while the value is low. Vuc,Evan and even Bamba and Fultz can increase their value before the deadline. You just have to make trades with the right teams. Stay away from guys like Presti and Gm's like him.

Here is a small trade that would just fix us for the moment. I love DJ but we all know he is the biggest reason we get torched by every guard we play. Aminu and Gordon being hurt or ineffective is probably the other big thing. Here is the trade. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=uh73e43 Schroder is having a career year and Muscala is just a body but i honestly think he would play better here, plus he's healthy. The question is what do we have to pay to dump two bad players? I think i can see Presti thinking Aminu's contract will be easier to trade next year then Schroders. We just have to give up a pick to dump them. So the first question is do we want to win this year? The second question is it worth giving up a pick to start winning again? The third big thing is our absolute terrible back end of the roster.I do not know how to fix that.

I know this post was long but it is a realization of our worst fears this off season. It was great going back to the playoffs last year, but we were not a good team. We resigned people to be average and already we are falling below that. Add to this fact that most board members knew our players were average for years and pleaded for management to trade them.I like Vuc, i love Ross, we did not have to sign them. We are hard capped like the above poster said and about to lose our best offensive player in the off season. For those of you who like Gordon and Evan they both are very likely to be traded simply because they are our best assets.Centers are still valued in this league but not at 28 million a year, he is not going anywhere.

I agree somewhat, but it still seems like we were one of a very small group of teams in on Fultz. I'm hesitant to give them credit for that trade. The return Philly got makes it look like we won, but it sure looks like nobody was offering much

Vuc plays hard, i still think we should have traded him years ago when his contract was better. Vuc is like evan, both very good players but not great. I think Vuc tries hard but it has to be a downer when you see everyone else fail around you year after year.He has been the most consistent player during the whole rebuild. The problem is if your best player is a center the key to success are shooters.Where have the shooters been the entire rebuild? The Magic should know this better then any other team since we built two finals teams this way. I saw him making plays last night, but when the shots stop dropping all of a sudden our guys stop rebounding and playing defense. It can be fixed, we saw it last year.

Going by several websites the hints of a trade all point to DeRozan. Now this is mostly still rumors, but where there is smoke there is fire. If this is the case what trade involving him could actually help us? I would imagine it would require someone else coming back here with him.

Magic Vs Hawks - Monday, Dec. 30th at 7:00 P.M.

I want to be very clear about something. This is mostly about not wanting to give up certain players. In the last 8 years, hardly any of our players have warranted never give up status. Going all the way back to that Tobias trade, the idea was sound. We got a stretch 4 and a point guard, we needed both. We just chose poorly, got unlucky that the point guard was washed up. Ersan just torched us 2 nights ago, he was a good piece. Mostly we have chosen to develop players instead of moving the pieces around. What if we would have kept Tobias and Dipo but decided to trade Evan,Vuc and all those forwards we had. It's not crazy i remember at the time a lot of people on various boards thought they were all mediocre and we should keep shooting our shot until we got someone special.Other teams have done it with Philly being the most obvious, they gave up on MCW,Noel an Okafor right away. No waiting around to see if they "turn the corner". And this is not about tanking, some teams just evaluate and develop better.I just don't understand how we didn't see Elfrid was a bust soon enough. Actually we did see, our team management didn't. I don't see how we didn't get a veteran point guard in the early part of the decade. Other teams scooped up Lowry,Dragic,Thomas,Bledsoe when their original teams were not using them correctly. This isn't hindsight, i remember discussing all of those players years ago.And finally even though this post is about letting go of mediocre players, maybe we aren't using them correctly. This is my problem with Gordon right now. I don't know if he is what he shows or have we used him incorrectly. It seems everybody in the media wants us to trade the poor guy, maybe they see something. TL;DR. Why don't we make trades, develop players better.

LOL at others on this board the last year who questioned second tier players we wanted like Brogdon,Kemba, Dinwiddie or Brown. Sure they are not Superstars, but they are lightyears ahead of our players. Not even close. And they were available with the right management.

I think our whole team is bad at basketball. Remember before last year we had 3 years straight where we were legit trying to win and still had about the 3rd worst record in the league. You watched the games, they were all out there trying to win while several teams were hardcore tanking. We still could barely beat out the 3rd worst record in the league. I like Vooch and Isaac, i am sad about Gordon and Dj. Evan is an asset to me, Bamba is an asset to me. Blow it up!

This is about where we were last year, at the same time. What are we going to do, the players will soon turn it off. Ross and Vooch got paid, Dj knows he will be gone and Gordon is probably just figuring out he is not a star or the Magic are a bad organization. I say burn it down.

Yeah this is the surest sign of a bad front office. The last few years there have been devastating injuries in the NBA. All sorts of players have received playing time on various teams. Playoff teams, lottery teams and rebuilding teams. I feel like we have had the worst bench in the league for ten years and yet we keep signing players we never have any intention of playing. And we keep them from year to year! smdh!

I just don't understand his game anymore. He doesn't set his feet before he shoots. And he doesn't feel the defense or the movement like he did last spring.

This type of trade talk should be in a whole other thread. He just signed a 5 year contract and is a former number 1 pick. He is not going anywhere. This is still the biggest reason you have to hit in the draft. If you do get a star you have him locked up for the first 7 to 8 years of his career.

Yeah i think its time to start thinking of a soft reset at the deadline and trying something different. This has bad optics on paper but hopefully all of our players get healthy and go on a run in the new year. Then we don't have to do this. It's not a terrible idea to me and Phoenix has a bunch of assets and an expiring contract. Edit. Really the only players on the roster with real upside are Issac,Fultz and Bamba. I love Gordon, he is one of two players i wanted to Magic to draft before each draft that really happened. The other player was Sabonis. I still love him i am just starting to think he is a bad fit here and will reach his potential on another team.

Here is the Hypothetical Bridges trade. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y27bnxjr If management did something like this it would be because we finally gave up trying to make Gordon a small forward. The good things from this trade. Huge salary relief at the end of the season, especially if Evan opts out.A player on a rookie deal with championship pedigree who is a real small forward. We get to keep our pick and maybe even get one back. They get a player who fits nicely next to Ayton. Money or picks to go after a shooting guard.

Actually now that i think of it the Warriors would be better off trading for Covington/Teague and their first rounder. The money fits perfect i tried it in the trade machine. Covington could slide right into the small forward spot and is signed cheap. Teague expires at the end of the year and they can get him to stay cheap as the back-up PG.Then they pray to get Wiseman in the draft.

It seems Golden state needs a small forward to replace the Durant/Harrison Barnes player during their Dynasty. They actually need two wings and a stretch center. Is there any team out there that can give them something like that? Getting a decent SF seems to be hardest thing to acquire in this league. Some think they would like Vooch and i bet they would on his old contract. I do not see it. I think Gordon is just redundant with Looney and Green who both just resigned. Honestly i only see them interested in Bamba and Fournier and maybe our pick to use or package for depth. If that sounds bad for us or them i think we can stop talking about Russell. They don't even need to trade him till after this year.

No but i wish we had traded for Covington or acquired him instead of Aminu. Anyways last ten games Wiggins is back to 43% from the field less then 30% from the 3 and is about to dip under 80% from the free throw line. His turn-overs are way up after a good start this year. This is all on 38 minutes a game with high usage. It seems like the beginning of the year was a mirage.

C'mon really? It would be mostly from a money situation, but if we could literally swap Fultz and Russell right now. In a vacuum, just switch players?
