And a first in this draft isn't great.
But we're still overpaying in a vacuum to avoid resigning Fournier.
I believe he would fit better than Fournier. I believe it would work. From a value standpoint they're equal. So the only reason we give them a 1st is because of the position we put ourselves in and we want to get out of it. It may not be current managements fault but they are still overpaying to correct it.
I won't be mad if it happens I just would prefer they make it work without overpaying.

I think he thrives with GS. Being the 3rd guy takes a ton of pressure off his game.

Agreed but you don't fix a mistake with another mistake. You don't trade a 1st rd pick and Fournier for a slightly worse player!

Debatable. We'd get trashed in all of the trade grade stories
Gotta find another way. Giving a pick away due to our own undoing would be awful.

8 minutes ago, Fultz4thewin said:So typically by the end of the season guys tend to get pretty close to hitting their typical averages. When Vucevic had a hot start last year he had a decline to normalize his shooting numbers. When Fournier had an abnormally good shooting November his numbers declined since and he should end up in the 37% orbit by the end of the year. Gordon's play recently is showing signs that he's moving in the positive direction.
Ross isn't doing that. He's still bad. He was bad early and he's bad recently and I don't know what we're supposed to do with that. His numbers aren't normalizing
Our bench has zero scoring outside of Ross. We haven't put him in the best position to succeed. Because of this he shoots entirely too much. If we could cut down his shots maybe those handful of wtf shots would decline and better round out his averages. In order to do that we meed competent players though.

AI is not a good basketball player at this stage. 15 mil for a half season to only lose in the second round of the playoffs is the exact definition of getting robbed.

He wasn't aggressive and Fournier/Gordon were good tonight.

Assuming they're not sending a pick back or something
Agreed!

Any interest in Alec Burks?

A lot of us said that about Vuch...here we are still around. We are good at being fans that's for sure.

Gotta say he does look high lolI'd rather not have players that take any drugs at myself. Maybe it's not a topic to discuss. Surely he wouldn't come on national TV stoned out of his nut lolI think it's a non issue either way. Unless/until he pops hot it doesn't matter.
He does look a little crazy though lol.

Just happy we didn't trade them Gordon for Covington and whatever else that offer in here was.

I'd guess in division trading isn't ideal.

For the love of God please just take Vuch!!

I don't see much difference between being stuck at the 7-8th seed and being stuck at the 4th seed. I want to continue to trend upwards. No reason to tie up money if we aren't continually improving.

Where does this leave us? Hayward isn't a needle mover. Hayward, Isaac, Fultz, Gordon. What is that 4 seed every year?
Idk. I can't tell how much better that makes us.

1 hour ago, Magicman28 said:There’s just no proof to that. You’re basing this on what other teams have done but there’s no proof that a big can’t lead to a ship. Just has to be the right big and the team has to be built around that player properly.
AD is a big. Giannis is a big. Yes anomalies. Not because they’re bigs. Because they are stars. Star players are anomalies period. If they weren’t every team would have one.
Curry is an anomaly. He completely reinvented the game. No one came in and took shots like he did that consistently.
Towns will never win a ship as the best player. Embid will never win the ship as the best player. AD even being as amazing as he is hasn't done all that much (although I think he is the most capable out of the bunch). Other than that what other big is there? Jokic? I'd still rather have an elite wing over an elite big man.
Although it doesn't matter much Giannis isn't a big in my opinion. He's just big. Still a wing.
I'm just basing it off of history. If you want a big cool. I rather a wing.
-
1 hour ago, Magicman28 said:Doesn’t matter if it’s a wing or a big. Just got to be a player you can build around and do it properly. Look at AD in LA.
Vuch isn’t that good enough on both ends to build around.
It does to me. The game is not built around bigs. Therefore I'd rather our team not build around a big. A big hasn't been the best player on a championship in ages. AD is probably the anomaly but obviously he isn't available.

55 minutes ago, Jay Magic said:Name some wings you think are gettable on our end...
Any names you'd like or could be realistic?
Only way we are getting something better then AG is to add multiple picks or AG+Evan/Vooch + picks..
Who said anything about straight up? Just because we are shopping AG doesn't mean we are also not shopping Fournier or Vuch or anyone else. I don't know what's available. But I do believe if we are truly shopping AG it is for a player who is an upgrade. Only time will tell.
Some player we never think is available usually becomes available during trade season.
Let's see what happens.

7 minutes ago, Jay Magic said:Guess sooo. Wondering if Minnesota gives us Towns for AG and Vooch lol
Realistically what all star players are gonna be available for AG?
None will be a straight swap..
AG plus some picks??
The front office better not mess this 1 up
I'm not a fan of any big man being your best player. Give me a wing guy or pass....
-
26 minutes ago, Jay Magic said:Unless it's for a certified all-star forget it. And I don't want derozan
I agree...I'm just saying if they're shopping him it's probably for that all star player.

1 minute ago, Jay Magic said:Listening to the Woj podcast and he's saying we want to trade AG but we don't know if something significant is out there for us...
I say if Evan and Vooch are not moved before AG it's disgusting
But it makes sense. AG is our most valuable asset outside of Isaac. If we are looking to make a big move AG would be involved.
