    Media-vucevic is a fantastic player

Me-oh cool, so somebody should give up something significant to get him?

Media- no. No teams need him

Vucevic is the first top 5 player in the NBA to be outside of the top 10 at his position lol.

Teams that could probably use Vuch (in no specific order):

    1. Bucks (Vuch is better than Lopez)

    2. Celtics (I think Horford is maybe on the decline.)

    3. Hornets (Who is their Center, really?)

    4. Clippers (Boban is good in short bursts, Gortat isn't that effective anymore.)

    5. Trailblazers (Better than any center on their roster)

    6. Lakers (He'd help out a lot for them.)

    7. Kings (if they are serious this year)

    8. Pelicans (I could see this working for them, plus they need shooting.)

    9. Mavericks (Better long term to Jordan if they can resign him. Better than Jordan right now too.)

There are probably more, but that is already a decent number that could probably use him.

Step 1: Vucevic is good now

Step 2: Well actually he’s always been good

Step 3: Cant believe Orlando has been misusing Vucevic for 6 years, just like all their other prospects. Trash franchise.

Edit: This is where we’re headed with the current media attention.

Yeah, a lot of people haven't been watching the Magic, so jump right to the counting stats and the 2 games a year that they have seen him where he played well and making judgments off of that. There is a reason he has been on the block for 2 or so years. They are missing the lazy defense that he played in the past, the selfish and also lazy offense that he often played as well, and his overall demeanor through parts of prior seasons.

Don't get me wrong, I love what he is doing right now. If we decide not to trade him and he continues to play at a similar level for the rest of the year, aggressive offense, great passing and teamwork, working on the defensive end within his limitations, then I will enjoy every moment of it. But, while the stats might look similar to prior years, the Vuch of today is not playing like the Vuch of the past- which is where he earned his reputation.

Yeah, it definetly feels more like a typical week 1 of the season rather than the quarter mark.

I'm really happy with our teams record and I'd say it comes down to Coach Clifford and our team's health more than anything.

I am actually not as surprised by our standing as I am by some other teams standings. Almost no team is where most people thought they would be.

It's a testament to Gordon's improvement as a passer and shot selection, vucevic's threat as a shooter screwing up defensive geometry, Clifford's offense making guys collapse the defense which causes them to scramble, and guys buying in to that offense by making the right pass instead of determining who deserves the next attempt.

Also to the fairly constant movement we have on offense. I don't see too many offensive sets where guys are just standing around anymore. Instead almost everyone seems to be in fairly constant motion, or doing something to keep at least one defender occupied.

Plus it’s going to be harder than people think. Boston made themselves nearly impossible to trade with based on how they allocated their their money and I don’t think anyone is giving up a top 10 pick for brown or rozier by themselves. So a top 15 pick from us and the 6th man of the year candidate that could help them win this year would be a great return. Sure it’s not as sexy as the fleece sweater deals Boston is used to getting but Boston is no longer in the market for project players that need to develop. They want that low salary finished product with playoff experience which T Ross is.

My thing is that I don't think Ainge likes to make deals where he doesn't think he is a clear winner. He'd rather let the player walk than hurt the mystique around him that he never "loses" a deal, and that you have to give up a lot to get anything from him. It creates an automatic high anchor point in negotiations for other GMs when they deal with him where they have to be prepared to give up a lot in terms of assets to get what they want from him.

Has Wall ever had any locker room issues before this one? Can’t remember any. Thought he was always solid there?

That contract. 20 million less and it would be a no brainer. Because of that, Beal would be the better option. How much better would he make us?

    1. Complaints about his contract after Beal got signed for more than him, plus other rumors about them not getting along (which they don't seem to on the court)

    2. Spat with Gortat

    3. Comments about how the team was playing when he was injured

    4. Comments from former teammates that he can be difficult

A lot of this might be overstated. People don't always get along and that doesn't make you a bad person if you have difficulties with some others. Or you have an issue once, and then resolve it. And you can probably find such comments  about almost every player in the league if you search. But the issues with Beal and the issues with Gortat got all the way out to the national media- so it is something to consider.

  7. Vuch getting some love from the National Media:

    Quote

    Hype: Nikola Vucevic

The case for Vucevic being an All-Star—you read that right—benefits from a couple of different trends: Yet another superstar left the Eastern Conference this offseason, there’s less defense being played across the league this season and, as a result, more possessions on the other end. For a skilled scorer like Vucevic with a poor defensive reputation, the time to leap to All-Star status has never been better.

Yet Vuc is averaging 10.8 rebounds and has the fourth-best defensive rating on the Magic—ask Joel Embiid, who he bettered on both ends in a recent win over the Sixers. Granted, the team allows 107.1 points per 100 possessions with him on the court, but that’s more average than it is abominable this season. His defense won’t make or break an All-Star bid, but it’s contributing to a more relevant part of an All-Star application, Orlando’s record. Vucevic deserves a great deal of credit for the Magic’s 9-8 record; his playmaking from the center position has been crucial in the team’s effort to move the ball more. The Magic assist by committee—D.J. Augustin and Evan Fournier average less than 10 dimes between them, while Vucevic averages the third-most at 3.6 per game.

Meanwhile, the offense Vucevic is known for is at top strength: He’s shooting a career-high 45.2 percent from deep, and over the past three games (wins over Philadelphia, L.A., and New York), he’s made half of his 14 shots from beyond the arc, averaged 31.3 points, and shot 61.4 percent from the field.

    Hype: 6/10

Also, don't fall for the "John Wall is actually bad" discussion. He's good. He's just probably the 18th best player in the league but being paid like he's LeBron. If he was making Mike Conley money it'd be easier to reckon with his poor leadership and locker room issues.

John Wall is good, but he has definite flaws that need to be reckoned with when discussing if he would be a good fit.

  9. 4 minutes ago, Jay Magic said:

said Evan Fournier, a teammate of Vucevic’s for five seasons. ``He’s the focal point of our offense and we run a lot of sets through him. With pick-and-rolls, hand-offs and post-ups, he’s the only inside guy that we have, and we want to play inside-out. He has the ball a lot, he makes good decisions and he’s making threes right now. So, perfecto!’’

Only inside guy? Bamba no? Bit weird... maybe he just meant as in ready to play that way

I think he is talking about in back to the basket play. Bamba is more of a rim runner type player.

  10. Besides Wall's contract, he has a few other issues that should make GMs hesitant to trade for him:

    1. Laziness. For all his athletic talents, Wall can be lazy on both ends of the court, playing lazy defense or not moving without the ball in his hands.

    2. Shooting. Wall has never been a consistent shooter. Last year was his best at 37% from 3, but he is a career 33% 3 point shooter and he is right around those numbers.

    3. Athleticism. His game is built around his athleticism and passing- how will it survive in the later years of his contract?

    4. Injuries. While not the most injury prone player, he has had a number of injuries to his knees.

    5. Attitude. Wall is not a leader and often seems to have a poor attitude, feuding with multiple teammates and just generally having a surly disposition.
