Lol. We lose to the worst team in the league and then destroy the best. Makes sense. -

Maybe, but if so, it is not very effective. -

Watching how Isaac moves on defense, I just cant help but think that he truly could be a generational talent on the defensive end. He is already really really good. -

Interesting defensive stat (obviously not everything, but definitely something)- Both Simmons and Isaac are in the top 20 defensive field goal difference of players who have seen at least 150 shots where they are the main defender. Opposing players field goal % is 6.7% lower when Simmons is the main defender and 6% lower when Isaac is the main defender. -
Remember contracts need to be factored in too though. With Ball and Fultz, we have 2 more seasons after this where they are under contract, plus a basic "right of first refusal" with the player as part of free agency. Ross, as much as we love him, as a UFA after this season and is not guaranteed to resign. Also, if we do resign him, it will be for more than Fultz or Ball's rookie contracts per year. You are giving up Ross, a good player on an expiring contract for a player that could end up being a cornerstone of the team.

So, weird stat time now. Gordon is much better at pull up 3s than catch and shoot 3s so far this season. On catch and shoot opportunities, he is shooting 33% (3 per game). On pull ups, he is shooting 47% (1.4 per game). -
I think that could be an option. I think Grant would work better as a 2 and as a secondary ball handler. He is a decent defender, and can play with the ball in his hands, but is not a dynamic passer and probably scores best in catch and shoot scenarios (80% of his 3 pointers are assisted, and he shoots 39% on catch and shoot 3s).

Some recent rumors to get this thing started: 1. Ross wanted by the Lakers. https://hoopshype.com/2018/12/13/los-angeles-lakers-terrence-ross-wayne-ellington-trevor-ariza-nba-trade-rumors/ 2. Magic interested in Fultz. https://www.libertyballers.com/2018/12/13/18138534/pistons-magic-trading-for-markelle-fultz

I think it would be good to have a trade thread. I feel this thread should be specifically for how we are playing overall in the year (and a little about other teams and players too). It is getting a little messy to go through with everything being discussed in this thread. -

I’m not even local any more. The Orlando Magic should play their home games in Orlando. -

This has been disappointing. Also, hate that we lose a home crowd. Also, scoreboard people suck. -

Damn. That is a team. -
Isaac is almost 80% from the line- you'd think he was a better 3 point shooter.

Using last year's #s, the Lakers were 3 points per 100 possessions better on defense with Ball on the court than off the court (via 82games). Last year, opposing players shot 3.3% lower than their yearly averages when he was the main defender. This hasn't been as high this year, but he isn't a problem on the defensive end. His size allows him to switch easily as well, and he is a smart player. -

Yeah, and Ball is the complete opposite in that regard. He loves to get out in transition and push the ball. If you are talking about easy points, there are some easy points that we are missing. And other guys have the opportunity to push the ball too, but it often seems like it is only really after a Gordon rebound that our guys are running up the court trying to get the opposing offense out of order for an easy basket. -

Ball isn’t a ball hog either, so our offense should be able to continue with the amount of motion in it. And he pushes the ball in transition, which our team is missing right now. It seems like the only guy who really pushes the ball in transition often is Gordon right now. (We are towards the bottom in transition offense frequency and points per transition offense attempt)
