Are there even any teams that could really use Payton? I think he is an OK player still, although a lot of people have soured on him, but with his skill set, it makes him a weird fit for most teams.

Why? Hood is not as good as Fournier and will demand a larger contract next year. Fournier's contract is not one that we desperately need to get off the books. We should only trade him for assets, not just for cap space right now. (Cap space is generally fine, but I don't see a player coming here that would be worth a big contract).

It might be fun to watch offensively though.

I mean, who knows. The two of them might work well together. Definitely lose some control though if we don't have the first pick. And even if we do suck our way into worst place, we only have a 25% chance of picking first. Ayton-Gordon-Young/Doncic sounds like a great young trio though.

Who would you pick if we ended up with 1 (or 2) and 3? Ayton then whoever is still there between Doncic and Young? If we got 2 and Ayton is taken first do you still go Doncic and Young, or grab Bagley with one of the picks? Honestly, if we could swing this, I'd maybe go for it as I am a little concerned by how brittle Isaac has been so far. However, if Isaac can stay healthy, build up his ankles a bit, he might be a nice player with one of those guards. Can't give up on a player that has shown some potential after only one season.

I haven’t been able to watch many games recently, but Gordon looks like he has been struggling. What are the reasons from those watching? Poor shot selection? Increased defensive focus? Just in a slump?

You never trade realized talent a single draft pick, high or not, especially when they are still young. Even older talent you don't trade unless you are either getting a haul or your back is against the wall (they are going to leave or you are going in another direction (I.E. about to tank)).

Lol. Of course no player is completely off limits, but you are severely underselling AG if you think he can be had for a top five pick. Correct, teams should be giving up way more than one top five pick for a player of AG's talent. The only player that I can think of who was 22 and playing at around an all-star level that was traded was James Harden- who was traded because the Thunder were being cheap. (Not saying Gordon is playing equivalent to Thunder Harden, just that he is the only player that is in the same range that I can think of.) Harden got the Thunder Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two first round picks, and a second round pick. That is probably at least equivalent to a top five pick and I think most people knew at the time that it was a poor return for Harden. While Harden was better at that point than Gordon (at least offensively) and had just been to the finals, his finals performance had been poor, everyone knew the Thunder were being cheap and possibly looking at moving him after he had rejected their contract offer, and there were a lot of questions about whether or not he could lead a team on his own as he had been a 6th man on the Thunder (a stupid question to be sure, but one that was being asked). Basically a young guy like Gordon almost never gets traded (Harden is the exception), and they definitely are not traded for a bunch of magic beans.

He is almost definitely going somewhere else- even if offered the exact same contract that we can offer, why would he stay when our management showed that they previously did not want him and didn't even have enough faith to pick up his option? I am just hoping I am wrong on that because he has shown himself to be a good piece this year.

Hope high? I will be rooting for him at his next spot.

My question about Doncic- I see a lot of people out there (media, etc.) saying that he is or can be a PG, however looking at his size and where he produces, it looks like he is more of a ball handling wing. Can he play PG or would he more likely be playing on the wing?

Why does Dallas do that?
