Why does another PG necessarily have to steal minutes? Most of the guys moved could easily have played alongside Payton

How does one determine a players ceiling? Based solely on athletic ability? Because on that basis there are plenty who could be all-stars

Potential does not equal production. It is a stretch to say that any player in the draft will be better than Kawhi Leonard, who is probably one of the best 25 players on the game. And speaking of that P word, even Leonard's production has not reached his potential at this point

Hold up. Did someone really say Stanley Johnson could "easily" be the best Kawhi Leonard? Good grief

anyone down for Isaiah Thomas? I thought he would be a good addition in the offseason and seems to be available now.

I thought Vic's second dunk was even better than the first. Was already spinning when he caught the ball If he would have hit that one hander it would have been insane

Have to hope we get in the top 4. Lot of star potential. Towns the best for for the current roster. Looking at this draft really kinda annoys me when I think about the team as it assembled. While I understand it is basically impossible to predict who is going to be good in what year, there really seems to be a lack of foresight for how good the team was going to be ay this point, or at least a mis-evaluation of what we have, though party of the blame for that rests on the departed head coach. But every player in the supposed top for renders one of the current pieces obsolete. You take Okafoe, what do you do with Vuc and his newly signed contract? Mudiay makes you not need Payton with the added benefit of making Hennigan look worse for being held random by the 76ers. You could play Mudiau at the 2, which he could most likely do, but then what do you do with Oladipo? The same goes for taking Russell. Towns actually fits on the team, but then Gordon is forced to the 3 where his abilities are far more common. Plus everyone on here wants to go after a wing in free agency, further throwing a wrench into the proceedings. Too many players at too few positions. Not even mentioning how Fournier basically becomes unnecessary and Afflalo goes to waste

You say "a better version of Tobias Harris" as if to disparage him. In his rookie year Parker is already s better version of Harris and has shown more versatility and better defensive potential

We certainly have a lot of pieces. I would argue that neither Vucevuc nor Oladipo are the foundational pieces that people think they are. Payton is probably the closest to a building block that we have. All in all, there is promise, I guess, but no clear path to being a great team, barring a Jimmy Butler-esque jump into stardom

Lottery protected, though, so it likely end up falling near where they picked Payne

I have been hesitant to really jump in with him because his stat line was seemingly so disproportionate to his talent, but I'm on board now. If he can get a reliable 3 point shot he would be perfect

Karl Towns was straight up awesome tonight. If Hennigan is intent on Vuc as long term building block then Towns is the guy to put next to him

They had better catch plenty of lobs because that would be the only offense to come from that lineup
