    Vakeaton "Von" Wafer

He would be great for our second unit. also, he keeps redick on the bench (or better yet, traded)...so i am failing to see a downside to bringing wafer in. That makes no sense, and oh yeah, swagger! Wafer is exciting to watch (after screaming because he just scored). He's nowhere as good a scorer or defender (yes, defender) as Redick. Redick's shooting might not be good right now, in part by the ****ty offensive system coach genius runs, but assuming he gets his shot back we're really going to be set on the wings. The Magic could have a big problem if Nelson gets hurt now that Alston isn't here. Redick showed he can play PG (not surprisingly since he's probably the best passer on the team and one of the more high IQ players we have). He might need to work some more on his ball handling and pray SVG will give him the chance again.

Much more player upgrades aren't needed What do the Magic need? Sound coaching Sound coaching??? Give me a break. SVG developed and maximized the talent of Nelson, Lee, Turk, Tat, and Redick last year. He also developed a new and successful system which played a unique brand of offensive ball and somehow ended up the best defensive team in the league.... All without a true power forward and a true go-to guy. SVG has been great for this young team. Amen Brother blah blah I knew something like this was coming and not surprised it was from you two lol If anyone thinks SVG was doing a great job in these playoffs they're smoking something after barely getting by in the first round and then being embarrassed by the Lakers which, truth be told are not as deep as we were the difference? they have a coach who knows how to win without screwing with the chemistry on a pivotal game like Stan did My take is that you take pleasure in confronting. It could be anything. I've seen the Dwight sucks post. Same thing. It's a variation of Trolling. It's called ConfronTrolling and the cure for it is to ignore it. Notice I'm giving you credit for not being stupid enough to actually think SGV is a bad coach. What a waste of forum space, next time remind me only to quote the nonsense, but it's hard to pick which one And nice try, when did I make a post that Dwight sucks? Seriously I don't want whatever you're smoking. Just the fact someone named "Soul Bro" backs you up is scary... I remember specifically you two "confronting" my view of SVG's shortcomings. If you think that's trolling I guess that's your problem Think about it, if you think I'm dumb for believing SVG is far from a great coach.. you can only imagine what I think about you for "confronting" that

    Gortat vs Darko

When you go back you can see who spoke the truth... The fact Gortat turned out to have the desire to be a better NBA player doesn't erase the reality Otis dropped the ball big time by letting Darko go without at least looking to the future, keeping him and trading him later (like it could happen with Gortat). Otis learned from that who cares who turned out to be right or wrong, what year was that 06-07? Very few would have predicted Jameer would turn out to be this good in the NBA. I dont think he'd ever become a Steve Nash type but honestly he more than makes it up with his clutch shooting and his (finally consistent) scoring. Nobody can predict the future

    Vakeaton "Von" Wafer

seems like the guy is a head case, although Barnes isn't too impressive either If Wafer had a little incident with Adelman in Houston, I don't want to see how bad he's go off on SVG
  6. it's obviously futile to argue with little minds I just hope that Van Dumby does not lose the team (like he was about to) by saying stupidities out of frustration from his lack of brain power, because believe it or not (and this might come as a shock to EnFuego and SoulBro) coaching takes some brains and leader abilities it takes more than just saying (or screaming) "let's go guys" The only true professionals I can think of who are successful at screaming are hookers and army sergeants

  10. quote: Originally posted by You're Fat, Pat!:Man, Gortat seems like he just is dying to leave. Anyone receiving the treatment he gets from SVG would be dying to leave too, add to that a higher paycheck I'm an advocate for overpaying Gortat if we have to because he's a great asset BUT, considering what Bass can gives us for the money, I'd take Bass over him

    Iverson?

quote: Originally posted by Magicfanagain:uh, some of you thought skip was a locker room cancer....AI is old, washed up, selfish and DESTROYED the pistons locker room after having done NOTHING in denver except take shots away from 'melo. no thanks, i'll take pargo Skip a lockeroom cancer? Why because he hinted Van Gundy was messing up the chemistry? I'd say skip was one of the smarter players out there whenever he was interviewed As for AI.. don't have an opinion. Guy still has some talent left but his persona and thug wannabe style eh.. I don't know. Cast member role for short guy with tatoos is already taken
  12. quote: Originally posted by NotByChoice:This is exciting. We finally get that legit PF in the mold of a Udonis Haslem that we can play along side Dwight. not to nitpick, but Bass will be 10 times better than Haslem, who's an average player at best. These two players do not even resemble each other other than they play the same position I don't get what the love with Haslem is on this forum. Almost as bad as those who can't wait until Fran(kestain) and his girlfriend decide to come over (here's to hoping that never happens) Bass makes the possible loss of Gortat a little easier to swallow

  14. quote: Originally posted by Lawyers,Guns.and Money:Vince has averaged 38 minutes a game for his career, and averaged 37 a game this year for the Nets. Your boy might get 12 to 14 if he's lucky. The hate towards JJ is because of the expectation of a player who is drafted as high as he was. He's been a disappointment, and anybody who doesn't see that is in the state of denial. JJ might be a disappointment (offensively) but we'd never know had Brian Hill and then SVG given him more minutes earlier. In a more prominent role sooner, I can't see JJ struggling with his shot like he's done. First Brian relied on a worse shooter like Arroyo and Nelson (who was too inconsistent then) for backcourt offense. Then SVG would panic at every normal mistake JJ would make and couldn't realize the guy has a pretty high basketball IQ, so Stan would yank him at every little mistake, just as he held up Gortat who could have been contributing sooner.

    It's just 12 minutes..BUT BIG 12 minutes

So have your fun, poke at me and skirt the real issue here. Just remember we have Howard, and ONLY Howard now. No other Center is available in free agency. So when we play Boston. They throw KG, Perkins & Sheed at Howard, it will be no time before he is in foul trouble. OR he becomes so passive that he cannot play the way he needs to play. Dude we will get a backup, its not like we will just not have one(or Foyle as one). The point is Gortat's contributions for the majority of the seasons games were minimal. I am not saying he is not a good player because he will put up good numbers in a system he plays more, he is just not worth the money for what his role is on this team. We can pay 2 mil or less and easily get a guy who can do the same thing for all 10 minutes a game. Good point, how about list out the available free agent centers that we can get for about $2 million. Then also consider doing that will take us out of the running for Bass and probably dice because the $2 million comes out of the $5 million we have with the MLE. So if you think you can sign Bass or Dice with $3 million per year let me know. So please list the back up centers we can sign. I would love a list. Bass and Dice are BOTH capable of playing a back up role at the PF and C positions. Neither of those guys are legitimate centers It comes down to common sense. There aren't too many legitimate 7 foot centers around with what Gortat brings to the table. There are many more possiblities with similar players to Bass and McDyess-who by the way is old-
