The reason Nicholson didn't play much against the Nets is because he can't rebound or defend. Considering that the front court of the Nets is Humphries (had 21 rebounds) and Lopez (good offensive player who had 20 points) I consider that to be pretty good justification of why Nicholson didn't see more minutes. Whilst I agree that Ayon is terrible, he did at least grab a couple of boards and, as you alluded to, as an expiring contract if he shows even adequate play there is a chance that a team in desperate (and I mean real desperate) need of a cheap big man may have a sniff around. The improvement Nicholson could achieve in 8 more minutes (the amount Ayon played) against a tough Nets team is minimal anyway considering he'll have plenty of opportunities throughout the season. Also, BBD at the moment is better than Nicholson... Despite being horrendously inefficient he still had a double double, 2 blocked shots and 3 steals. I might be alone but I think this organization knows what it's doing both on and off the court.

Hedo and Jameer both missed the phoenix game And to be fair, I thought we did play pretty hard tonight, we outscored the Nets in all but the 1st quarter, we forced a lot of turnovers and, were it not for a poor 3 point shooting display, could have come a lot closer to winning than we did... How many nights are there going to be when JJ and Afflalo combine for 0 of 6 from beyond the arc?

Better performance in the last game, still not enough for the win... I think if we'd just got a few shots to drop from 3 though the game might have been different. Regardless my main worry is rebounding... We don't box out well enough and give up too many offensive rebounds..

A fair few years ago i was on holiday in Orlando, we were there for three weeks so had plenty of time to just lounge around some days and I happened to turn on the tv and a Magic game was on, at that time I had never watched any basketball at all but, as I was in Orlando, felt I should route for Orlando. I ended up watching about 4 or 5 games on tv whilst I was on that holiday, I also bought that years NBA 2K game, took it home and played as the Magic until i pretty much broke the disc... Although I didn't have a renewed interest in basketball until this past year when my new tv package had a sports channel that showed various NBA games... got back into the game and remembered my love for the Magic, I then moved to university so I thought I'd buy NBA Team Pass so I could watch all of the Magic games this season rather than just a random few on tv.

I wouldn't say I think we're good one minute and suck the next I just think people need to be realistic about playing a team who have 2 Allstars when our teams best two players are Davis and Afflalo.

There's no way a seven foot center should be getting blocked by a PG... Vucevic has to be stronger.

Some of you guys are a little dramatic... I hate to break this to you but we should be losing to a team like the Nets... They're a far more talented team than us... Personally I don't think this has been nearly as bad as the Minnesota game or the Nets home game despite the fact that we are completely ice cold from beyond the arc.

Our biggest problem for me is rebounding, if we grabbed a few more boards I think we'd be in a lot better spot than we are.

To be honest he usually doesn't jump high enough to get a tip on it lol

Vuc is the only guy I've ever seen who can tip the ball back towards the rim numerous times per game and never get one to fall..

Even from this game alone I wouldn't say he sucked, he's played decent defense, got to the rim a few times and is passing the ball well, he's had one or two turnovers though and is struggling with his 3 ball this game. Personally though I think he's been our best player so far this year.

I'm quite happy with our forcing of turnovers early on but we're not making it count... Also, oddly enough, I think so far McBob has been quite effective off the bench early on, he made a nice pass for Afflalo, got himself a bucket on a fast break and is at least fighting for boards (even if he's not actually getting them)

Thats poor between Ish and Moe... really poor...

We're already quite far behind but I think we're actually playing better on offence so far. Trying to take it to the rim, using off the ball movement to create openings, that reverse by Afflalo was a real nice play

I predict a better performance than last game, but still a loss by about 8 or 9 points.

Not sure I ever made a prediction but having seen the first few games, I think we can win 22. I know it meant nothing and was against scrubs but I really liked the play of O Quinn, Nicholson and Harkless at the end of the game. All showing that with a little more time, experience and training they could be solid contributors if not more.

As far as I'm concerned, we're paying Ish Smith 2 million dollars less per year to be terrible than we were paying Duhon... I'm ok with that.

Whats more important to me is that our young guys look good, I'm not too fussed about wins (although I would still prefer them obviously) so I'm glad we've thrown our 3 rookies on the floor right now. EDIT: and by look good I mean continue to improve.

To be honest I think teams have recognized fairly early on that our offensive catalyst is/was JJ, defense has been a lot tighter on him since those first two games.
