Harkless tried to tear down the rim and ended up missing the dunk... sigh. -

Whenever I see Turk on the floor I can't help but think the guy has no place on a basketball court. -
Injured apparently, sore hip.

Tell that to the teams who have been stuck in the lottery year upon year acquiring talented players but lacking the veterans and leaders to help nurture those young guys. There's a reason the Wizards traded for Nene and Okafor.
-
Exactly. We are arguably the only team in the league who don't have a player to build around for the future with the exception of probably Phoenix and Detroit. We're alright winning as many games as we can this year because (in my opinion) not a single franchise changing player is in the 2013 draft but eventually we'll have to get worse to get better by drafting a franchise caliber player. A lot of people say they'd rather sign an All-Star free agent to fit into the team we have. My question is who? None of the top 10 NBA players are out of contract any time soon that we have a chance of signing, it's not like an in-prime Tim Duncan is available this offseason. The only times this team has been to the Finals were on the backs of two No.1 overall picks drafted here to Orlando. Sure they both left but both of those times had at least a little to do with poor front office decisions. This is the first time in a while that I've had full trust in our front office. Drafting Andrew Nicholson at Number 19 has so far been a very good decision. So has the acquisition of Vucevic (and Harkless despite his only brief flashes of brilliance) in the Dwight trade. As well as the fact we avoided Andrew Bynum when so many in the media said we should have taken him. I have faith in Rob and he spoke so often when he was first hired about putting a plan in place to give this franchise the best opportunity to win a title. I'm willing to bet that at some point that plan includes a couple of high lottery picks.

The Portland bench is just terrible... If they're in the hunt for the playoffs by the deadline i'm sure they'd be willing to give up a fair bit for some scoring off the bench e.g. Redick or Moore.
-
Problem was defense... or lack thereof.
-
-
Why not? We beat the Wizards nine days ago.
-
Does it speak volumes about the Miami Heat too? The Wizards beat them this year.

I don't blame anybody... We're a young team with very little talent and both our Head Coach and our GM are in their first years in the league. Never mind the fact that they're both the youngest in the league at their respective positions. We were always going to lose games we thought we'd win... Especially with injuries to 3 of our vets. (even if Turk sucks and Harrington has never played the loss of Davis has been big.) Nobody was saying how bad we sucked or how we had no heart when we beat the Lakers or a good Golden State team twice. Some people on this board have incredibly short memories.

Ayon's passing is usually his only redeeming quality and it's been terrible tonight.
-
The dunk that Hark had in this game and the one he had last game really give a glimpse of his potential. Guy can really attack the basket... It's just a matter of developing that mentality to attack.

What are your expectations over the next few weeks?

I thought the exact same thing... Guy's an idiot. -
Steve Nash was a 4 year college player. In his first season he averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 assists in 10.5 minutes a game. In his second year he scored 9.1 points and 3.4 assists in 21.9 minutes a game. In his third season in Dallas his scoring dropped and he shot only 36% from the floor. David West was a 4 year college player and had fairly low numbers in all columns in his first two seasons. Let's not even talk about JJ Redick and the fact that so many people said he would never make it as a pro. He has improved so many aspects of his game so far in his career. Now I know that numbers are misleading because Nicholson's problems aren't really stat based (except rebounding) it's more on defense but the point is I'm sure (and in JJ's case I know) that people picked so many flaws in all 3 of those guys games during their first years in the league and yet David West is a very good power forward and has made a very good career for himself including a couple of all star appearance. Steve Nash... well... you see where this is going. The point is being a 4 year college player doesn't limit Drew's ability to learn and grow as a player. Nor does it mean that what we see now is what he'll be in five years time. Athleticism isn't something you learn but defense, to a point, is and Andrew is a smart guy... I'd be more surprised if he didn't work out how to play at least decent defense.

Afflalo is the Glen Davis of the back court... One minute you love him the next you hate him. -

Lebron James has played 250 minutes without fouling... During those 250 minutes he has 5 steals, 5 blocks and is averaging 37+ mins a game... Further proof why he is the best defender in the NBA.
