Apparently the reports on Randle aren't true.
-
Yup, a grand total of 5k.
-
So despite not being the consensus #1 pick last year, Smart ranks in a higher tier than everybody from last year's draft? That sounds pretty strange to me.
-
People expect too much. I'll be ecstatic if we draft 1 great player and 1 (at least) good player and make no other moves.
-
I doubt that a "big 4" ever happens. I could see Melo and LeBron playing together at some point but I doubt both Bosh and Wade will be there as well. If it does happen though I don't like it.

James Young

I've never been a big admirer of Randle but if he fell to 12 I'd be excited. At that point hes a great pick. Although honestly there's only one guy who I'd really hate to draft at 12. Most other guys in the range I'd be fine with.

Armand, Huestis and Thames suggest either the Magic feel like they can get a 2nd round pick or (probably more likely) they are looking at these guys for Summer League.
-
I'm definitely hoping for Nicholson to have a better year this coming season. A lot of people seem to have written him off but I think he could still be a useful player if he gets back to scoring in the post and takes less 3 pointers. I still feel he could be like a Luis Scola type player with some improvements.

Saric, Capela and Micic are all solid draft and stash players. Micic is only a fringe 1st rounder but if we did pick up that kind of a pick he'd be a guy I'd look at.

Except the Lakers aren't in the Southwest division...

With the east in flux, how far away is Orlando?
CTMagicUK replied to God Hates Otis Smith's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Okafor is a terrific prospect, if I had to give him an NBA comparison without comparing him to any HOFer or future HOFer I'd say somebody like Al Jefferson (a big guy who's not the most athletic but who can really dominate in the post) but he certainly has the potential to be much more than that. I'm hoping we get some of that Cleveland luck next year and finish later in the lotto but end up with the #1 pick. -
Huestis is a strange one, probably with a view to bringing him in as an UFA or if we acquire a late 2nd round pick.

With the east in flux, how far away is Orlando?

The turn this thread has taken has blown my mind. Someone actually had a debate (albeit with themselves) on whether Kobe Bryant is/was a superstar... -

Probably one of the 5 greatest PG's of all time wasn't a superstar? Ok then. -
Perfect response.

Manu was awesome in that 1st quarter. Great game so far.

Porzingis has been mocked to the Thunder by DX for a while now I believe. I definitely think Givony has insider info with the teams who put a lot of stock in international scouting, I just think he doesn't shout about it to the world because he's not a member of the press who gets paid for the "reports".

Theres nothing concrete at the moment to be fair. With Dwight's dating history though I wouldn't put this past him.

I said that exact thing in my post you quoted haha

Every draft we all have that one player (or a couple) who we don't like regardless of what scouts or people say.
-
He's young, long and can shoot. That's it. He can't create off the dribble, doesn't finish particularly well at the rim besides that one great dunk everyone always mentions and he plays as much defense as James Harden, also it's not like he's a pure marksman either he's incredibly streaky from 3. On top of that he chose Jay Z as his agent and was seen sitting court side with him and Rihanna at a playoff game (he was even asked about this repeatedly by NBA teams in combine interviews apparently) which makes me think he'd probably much rather play in some big city with stars sitting courtside than spend his career in Orlando (although admittedly this is speculation on my part and could be entirely not true). People who like him will say he's young and has a good frame for a 2/3. That his shot is good and it can get more consistent and that he may improve in some of the areas I mentioned. Those are all valid points and I can't say he won't improve and become a great player. I just don't see it personally.

I was almost tempted to answer this haha
