Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA · 35m Cavs pressed Celtics/Nets officials to complete paperwork on 3-way trade in last hour, needed it done "immediately." Cap space is clear now.

The Magic are in a no lose situation with Ben Gordon and his contract. If they didn't pay him 4.5 million they'd have to pay somebody anyway, if he steps out of line he can be waived, if he has a poor year we don't pick up his second year, if he plays well he's a trade asset and if he plays really well we can keep him for the second year. How people can just be like "they overpaid- terrible deal" is beyond me.

According to DX Gordon is on pace to be one of the top 10 worst Summer League performers (by PER) ever. Obviously Summer League isn't very often indicative of future success but that's still pretty troubling.

Any news on whether/when a Ben Gordon/Channing Frye press conference will happen?

Does Henny know what he is doing poll?
CTMagicUK replied to the notorious S.A.C.'s topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I'm pretty sure Durant has said he likes what we're doing down here before and he does know Rob from his OKC days. Plus, next to Oklahoma City we're a big market. It's obviously not likely but I wouldn't say it's impossible if we show we can compete from now until KD's free agency. -
No idea if this has been posted but it's an article on the Magic and our rooks that I quite enjoyed: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11189626/nba-elfrid-payton-aaron-gordon-give-magic-youth-movement

Moving ahead, Gordon will be a "3" (SF)
CTMagicUK replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
With Gordon, he certainly can guard the 3 so I have no problem in that respect. How he plays on offense is yet to be determined as far as I'm concerned. I don't think Summer League can be an accurate representation of how the Magic want Gordon to play. I agree with some people that I don't want him camped out on the 3 point line consistently. If he's wide open for 3 I'll have no problem with him taking the shot but ideally I'd hope the Magic look to find creative ways to include him in the offense. He's obviously going to score most of his points on cuts to the hoop, in transition and on putbacks at this point but I would like to see him spend time as the roll man in pick and roll and catching the ball around the elbow where he'll have room to read the defense and make the pass or attack off the bounce. I don't think he has the ability to consistently get by his man in an isolation from the perimeter yet. Let's not forget he's only 18 right now. How or where he plays his first year in the league may have little effect on where/how he'll spend the other 15 years of his career. -
Nearly 16m a year for Gordon Hayward... There are no words...

Noel is yet to play an NBA game.
-
Dragic and Bledsoe both shot better last year from 3 than any previous year in there careers.
-
I actually think Frye is decent in the post from what I've seen (I don't know what the stats say) he just takes most of his shots from 3 because that's where he best helps the team.

The entire nation of Brazil is suicidal right now.

Don't really think we need Oladipo to play but it'll be exciting.

Karl Malone was the beneficiary of good point guard play. Is he not a star? What about Blake Griffin? Dirk has played with Steve Nash and Kidd as well is he not a star? There are plenty of players who played with Nash who didn't put up 20 and 10 with a couple of assists, a steal and a block a game but Marion does and he's just a product of his pg? I don't get it.

The warriors apparently knew it would take more than the MLE (5. 75 mil a year) to get him according to Zach Lowe meaning his market was probably 6.5-7 million. Meaning we may not even have over paid that much.

Does Henny know what he is doing poll?
CTMagicUK replied to the notorious S.A.C.'s topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Let's face it also. Frye's game is not predicated on speed or athleticism. He sets a pick, he pops to the three point line and he shoots 3's. If the defense switches a guard onto him he backs them down and finishes. That's literally his game. I can't even imagine how, if he remains healthy, he won't be able to do that 4 years from now. -
You have the internet right? 4 years 23 million.

The midlevel contract Pelton is referring to is what Spencer Hawes just got with the Clipps and what McBob just got with the Heat.

Does Henny know what he is doing poll?
CTMagicUK replied to the notorious S.A.C.'s topic in Orlando Magic Forum
He played 82 games last year, there's no reason to believe he won't remain healthy. We traded AA away because we want to pass the leadership over to the young guys and didn't want to take back any undesirable contracts. Gordon is an irrelevant move in terms of salary I don't understand why people think otherwise. Phoenix didn't have an inside presence either but they won 48 games last year in a season where most people predicted they'd be one of the worst teams in the league and they were helped by the fact that the Frye/Dragic pick and roll was the most efficient in the league. -

By my calculations, even if we pay Vuc and Tobias 17 or 18 mil combined we still have enough flexibility going into KDs free agency that we could move Frye (attached to a 1st round pick If needed) and be able to offer KD the max. (granted those calculations were quick and could be slightly off) People need to realise that the only way you attract a star is if you're competitive enough. Howard didn't want anything of Houston until they got James Harden and made the playoffs. KD wouldn't leave Okc to come and play with a bunch of young guys who have never sniffed the playoffs. At some point we have to show that we can compete. It's obviously an over pay, but Frye wasn't leaving Phoenix for anything less than an overpay. He was a big part of Dragic and Bledsoes success last year by spacing the floor. Hopefully he can open up those driving lanes for Vic and Payton as well. -
Payton looked like Rondo today. Hope he can develop into that sort of NBA player.
