Also since nobody to my knowledge traded a contract of that size before the 16th of July except for maybe Jeremy Lin who I wanted no part of (and the Rockets wouldn't have wanted Jameer's 2 million salary coming back anyway) why are we even having this conversation? It's not like we missed out on anything.

It doesn't matter how it worked out. You can say that now because he's still a free agent but that's information nobody knew when we released him. Nobody was giving up anything good for Jameer as a player (since it was clear we'd waive him otherwise) and nobody was giving up anything good for a salary dump either, here's why: because for Jameer's contract to be worth a damn there'd need to be a contract of equal or greater size on the team that wanted to make the trade, that contract would need to be both expiring (for us to agree to it) and expendable (for the other team to want to give it up), that team would need assets worth a damn for us to agree to the deal AND that team would need a major reason to want to clear 6 million or so in cap room. Even if there was a team and a contract around the league that met all that criteria why wouldn't that team instead do this trade: Contract + assets to Orlando Orlando sends draft rights of Fran Vasquez or whatever other Euro guy will never set foot in the nba to X team. That trade is actually better for X team since they get another 2 million in cap room and (not that it matters at all) we'd be over the salary floorwith Jameer's 2 million in guaranteed money plus the 8 or 9 million incoming.

Okc were in the lottery for 3 years. They also got a major head start by drafting KD in year one. Also I don't think anybody has ever called Zach Lowe super man (or even suoer man).

Yea I guess "in his prime" was a pretty vague statement on my part. I understand where you're coming from though I don't think it's at all likely Gordon averages over 4 APG if he stays on this team and Payton and Oladipo are as good as well all hope.

That sort of comes under "how he's utilized". If we still have a Payton/Oladipo back court (and Gordon) 7 years from now then no Gordon may not average 4 APG because he probably won't be needed to. But I think we're making an awful lot of assumptions in saying that Gordon will still be playing with Payton/Dipo in his prime. (Just to clarify: I really hope he does because that means all 3 of them were good enough to keep around and build around)

I think the number of assists Gordon can average in his prime years really depends on how he's utilized and how his game develops. If he can become a point forward and has the ball in his hands often there's no reason why he can't average 4 or 5 assists per game. If he never really develops that way then he'll still be a good passer and probably get 2 or 3 assists per game.

Prince was never an All Star but he was in the All defense teams, they had Rasheed Wallace though and he was. Their championship team also had Mehmet Okur on it and he was an All Star later in his career. Not to mention Ben Wallace was a multiple time DPOTY, All NBA and All Defense.

Rather have Payton playing big minutes and the extra 15 mil in capspace than Bledsoe.

I'm not sure being really good is good enough. The example I'm thinking of is the Nuggets during the Igoudala year. At the same time I think it's too early for us to know how good a lot of our guys can be.
