There's been no word on if JB will actually be an assistant, only that Skiles said he'd be very open to keeping him on as an assistant or something.

I still have hopes for both. I brought up in the other thread how this is an important year for both guys.

And even when he was asked to "win now" he still found time to start Brandon Jennings all his rookie year, make Ben Gordon the 6th man of the year as a rookie, Shawn Marion played a decent amount of minutes as a rookie, Kirk Hinrich was 2nd on the team in minutes played as a rookie and Luol Deng got decent burn as a rookie despite having some injuries. The idea that Skiles buries young guys behind vets and doesn't develop them is a myth perpetuated based almost solely on Tobias who as a 19 year old could not crack the rotation of a team expected to make the playoffs.

Moe is definitely one of Kyler's "guys". Never heard him say a bad word about him. It's always the coaching or the role or the playbook or the front office for bringing in too many wing players. I like Moe a lot more than most people but he's not a guy you should be running plays for and Tobias didn't have much of a problem making an impact in our system that apparently isn't conducive to SF's, nor did Evan when he played the 3.

Two former Bucks assistants are working in Erie with the Magic's D League team. They seem like obvious choices for Assistant Coaching jobs, honestly though I hope we try a little harder than just "you guys already work for us and have previously worked with our coach". Jim Boylan is in Cleveland so it'll be interesting to see who Skiles gets as his lead assistant. We seem open to keeping Borrego on so maybe he'll take that role? (still think that's a bad idea though)

I'm interested in how it goes with Nicholson and Harkless. They're in contract years and have a fresh opportunity to impress a new coach. This is pretty much a make or break year for them.

The thing that we all have to remember ("we" being people who are optimistic about this hire) is that no matter how well this team plays this season or in coming seasons pessimists will always have the "yea but we'll see in 2 years how this ends" stuff to fall back on.

I'll just say if this was not Rob's decision (which I don't believe) then he's a great actor.

I believe we're keeping Harris regardless. I was reading an article about him and it mentioned in passing that we'd given him a workout regime for over the summer which at least implies we intend to bring him back.
