I hate this thought process. I don't doubt it's true but it's just irritating to think we might miss out on easily the best draft since we've been rebuilding for the 8th seed just so our owners or upper management have the illusion that we're moving in the right direction.

I'm with you. Look at some of the guys on this nets team: Levert, Whitehead, Anthony Bennett, an ancient Scola, Dinwiddie, Joe Harris. None of these guys would be regular rotation guys on most other teams in the league.

Seriously I just want to see us play great once this season. The two wins I have seen were terrible wins against the Wall-less Wizards and the 76ers where the other teams just sucked more than us.

Right now my board is: Markelle Fultz Josh Jackson/Lauri Markannen Jonathan Isaac Lonzo Ball Jayson Tatum Dennis Smith Everybody else is further back or I just haven't seen enough of yet. Haven't really seen much of any of the Kentucky guys yet. I so want a top pick. Best case scenario: finish like 41-41, luck into the top draft pick, draft Markelle Fultz, maybe trade (or already have traded) Vuc and Payton for something like a good 3 point shooting SF. Starting lineup next season of: Fultz Fournier AG/Other acquired SF Ibaka/AG Biyombo/Ibaka With a bench of Augustine, AG or Biyombo, Hezonja and guys like Zimmerman, our 2nd round pick and maybe bring Janis Timma over.

Kevin Martin?

I like Vuc a lot more than most but I'm pulling the trigger on that. Also think Johnson could get us something from a contender too if we wanted to.

The NBA just isn't going to be the same without Sager. His interviews of Coach Pop were pure gold.
