Having been one who really liked the trade that brought Darko to Orlando, and was very disappointed when they let him walk, I would love it if he came back. I think that when he believed he was going to get a real shot at being an important cog in the machine (during that second half of the season he came there), he was very motivated and did well. And the Magic did well.

Then, during the second season, when he was stuck behind an inferior player and the situation became Detroit X2, he got somewhat unmotivated. But he still played better than Battie who was starting ahead of him, and helped Dwight become a better player when they played those rare minutes together.

As for the infamous 'counting the minutes', I believe if it is true, it is counting the minutes to be able to play on a team which values your contributions. He is not that family-oriented, it seems to me. His family never visits him over here and he never goes home except when it is time to play with the Serbian Team.

I think the deal that has been discussed would be good for both teams because it seems from what I hear, Gasol 2 is expected to come in and take over on his own and just outplay everyone within sight. Well, when Darko played against him in Europe, he outplayed Marc and was only slightly outplayed by Pau.

I like Pau and have followed the Lakers much more since he want there. But I long for the days when I followed the Magic and watched what I fully believed would be a terrible twosome with Dwight and Darko, in Orlando.

Still not too late!!

I personally liked Darko here in Orlando, he Dwight started making more blocks because Darko was showing him up in that catogorie. We even started calling the the twin towers. I don't blame Otis for not signing him to more. His agent poisened him against the Magic and he signed somewhere else for what we are offering him. He got to play less than he would have here in Orlando with Dwight and I don't hear of to many people banging down his door wanting to pay him more. Otis didn't overpay him and if we could get him here I think it would be good. Darko would really flourish under this system.

The agent was unprofessional in going public with all that garbage, but even if he hadn't, when the free agency period started, it became aparent to all that Otis' first priority was to secure Rashard anyway he could and then would work to see if he could keep Darko. Seattle didn't play and we had no choice but to let him go since Darko wanted money we could not give him.

How long is Darko's contract?

in memphis, darko has done well despite facing a lot of adversity: a team playing no defense except for him; injuries, especially to his left thumb and then his foot; a coach who ran no plays for him.

a couple of things that have been overlooked - darko played great defense vs tim duncan and yao; even with injuries, he had some outstanding games - vs lakers - 20pts, 4 blocks, and 10+ rebounds (this was as his thumb began to heal).

as a darko fan I would love to see him come back to the magic and, at last, play for a good coach and with dwight. Part of the problems are his responsibility, but like dave sime, who insisted on sprinting with a torn hamstring, he as great talent combined with bad luck.

I REPEAT THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES COACH IVARONI DID NOT SAY THIS!

The Coach went to Serbia to work with Darko for the upcoming season.

Smack...Ive enjoyed your commentary on Otis...it is intelligent. Honestly though, Otis really doesnt have a lot of opportunity to screw up any more since there isnt a lot of flexibility left in his movement. I agree that his moves this summer have been good but missing arthur and not trying to acquire him by cash or dorsey or any other cheap rookie was a failure. Spilling the beans on your draft pick before the draft is unbelievable and foolish. He hasnt been all aces all summer but he has improved if he doesnt give up too much for critt. Notorious ball out.

Wow. Quite a reaction. Do you work for Memphis? How do you know MI did not say that (are you MI)?

To the audio. It confirmed that Darko is more interested in playing for Serbia than training with the Griz, to the seeming reluctance of Wallace. Thus, Ivaroni is left going over to Europe to try and grow his relationship with Darko.

I stand by the source and what he heard. Believe it if you want. The person is not a fan.

Verno is the ish, dude is funny as hell, & knows his stuff

FACTS:

1.Darko's agent simply wanted more (like Dooling) than we could pay... nothing personal, the $ just didn't work... so he ended up going elsewhere for what we could have paid him.

2. Ivaroni said he was excited to get Darko and would be able to make him into one of the league's best bigs!

3. Darko was not impressive last season and did not live up to expectations... but he is still young and can be rated on upside for at least a few more years.

QUESTIONS

1. Had we retained Darko would we have still been able to start Shard at the 4 and seen the blossoming of Turk?

2. Before we should consider trading back for him shouldn't SVG interview him and decide if he would be a mutual fit in our current system... and is he willing to play here?

3. If the numbers work and Memphis is willing to do Critt & Darko for Cook/JJ/Bogans wouldn't we be fools to pass it up?

4. Would these options go all the way?

Who is this source?

I made such a firm response because, Darko and Coach Ivy have been working together and by the way coach Ivy talks of Darko, making this seem as if it is made-up. Plus Coach Ivy and Darko are hanging in Novi Sad as we speak because Darko wanted to be Coach Ivy's escort, he said he will show him "THE DARKO SIDE OF NOVI SAD"

I don't know anything about cap room and contracts, but assuming that the trade Cook + JJ + Exception for Darko + Crittenton works and they are willing to do it, it would be a dreamed situation.

We would be addressing the team's latest needs (backup PG and a PF who can rebound and defend).

Not only that, but we would be getting a PF who can contribute right now AND has a huge upside.

Don't know about the possibilities to round up the roster after that, that could be obviously be a problem.

The other problem would be Darko's attitude off the court. I truly believe that can be solved somehow, and if it doesn't it isn't such a big risk anyway.

To sum up, if the possibility comes up and it can be done financially, I would do it in a heart beat.

I hope Darko will never come back to play for orlando. He's been overrated from draft night until now.

I never saw him play with any heart. And when he's playing in the national team it's a complete different story. EVERY serb is passionate about his country (I must know, we have many serbs here in Austria. Same applies to the turks, croatians, bosnians, etc.) and that's why you can't compare his play there and here. If he could he would earn his millions at home
