I wonder if Tyreke Evans would be a good fit on a one year deal. he could be our "backup point guard"

 

he's a multiple positional player.

 

he's got a big wingspan.

 

he'd help create a bit of offense. would make sense.

if we're looking at a more obvious fit for backup point, Shelvin Mack makes a lot of sense.

lets break down the roster.

 

payton- 30 minutes

Fournier- 30 minutes

ross-30 minutes

Gordon- 32 minutes

vuc/biyombo-48 minutes however you want to split it.

 

Isaac- 22 minutes

Mario- 20 minutes? 16 minutes? 0 minutes?

 

backup point guard- 18 minutes

 

so we have 10 minutes leftover in the most optimistic mario scenario. and we have two point guards. Payton and presumably augustin until we have another option. we have Fournier and Ross at SG. We have Fournier, ross, hezonja, and Isaac who all would probably spend some time at SF. We have Gordon, Mario, and Isaac who are all playing some time at PF. We have Center locked down.

 

So, broken down,we want that last spot to go to a pf/c right?

So, like ideally we get someone like Jonas Jerebko who'd be good in our defense and can work a bit as a stretch 4 and occasionally as a small ball 5 along with another point guard so we don't have to play augustin.

 

because if we break things down, if payton gets hurt at least we have a vet pg who can start. if ross or Fournier get hurt you can have the other play big starter minutes iwundu slide in those backup SG minutes and have Isaac, hezonja, iwundu, and a bit of Gordon to fill in at SF.

 

If Gordon gets hurt I don't know if I'm comfortable with Isaac as a big minute starter at 4 This Year with Mario and some end of the bench guy filling in.

Nah. Isaac has more offensive capabilities.

I'd take Jamychal Green, Mbah A Moute, and Jerebko.

 

Tyreke? Ehh. I dunno. I don't know if he's a right fit with what we're doing.

 

Wouldn't be mad if we got Patterson or Jones.

 

Definitely prefer Jamychal and Mbah A Moute though.
