Bill Ingram is being told Wiz deal is in works...ANOTHER QUESTION @ BOTTOM PG2

Recommended Posts

During the regular season, Vince shot 45%+ in wins and 36.6% in losses, and also shot more in the losses. The only other player in the starting to have such discrepancy would be Lewis (46% in wins and 37% in losses).

Against Boston, in the 4 losses, Vince's Usage Rating was nearly 30%, and in the two wins, it was 20%.

Has Vince ever made a big shot?

Has Vince ever shown up in big games?

The answer to both those questions is no.

Rashard on the other hand has proven he can step up in big games and hit clutch shots. Even though he was struggling w/ his shots against a good defender in KG, at least he held his own on defense, unlike vince.

i dont think he shot more than 15 times at any point in the boston series. he shot 50 per. in the atlanta series. it really doesnt matter bro. they lost. he didnt play great, but neither did anybody else. on to the next one

all i can tell you is watch basketball. if you never seen vince hit a big shot you havent watched basketball at all. in toronto he took them to gm 7 in the semi finals against phi. in new jersey he took them to the semis against miami, and he was the best player for them. wow where have you been. did you see the 48 point game against no. and he could have had more games like that but svg rotates the players sometimes when they are feeling it.

Don't bring up the past. He's talking about THIS year with the Magic.

The two "game winners" he had were Magic losses.

Holy ****, every time I bring up a Carter "win" it's almost a Magic loss. smile_svgsad.png

so he's brought a couple teams to the conference semis...bfd. he didnt make any big shots this year, or for that matter, any year in a big playoff game.

It's no coincidence that the big shots or big games from vince are in the REGULAR SEASON.

when the playoffs come around....he chokes.

It's obvious that Vince has lost a step and surely isn't as athletic as 5 years ago. What do we expect from him, 20-5-5 with 50 % shooting? That's not gonna happen. I believe as the 3rd option (behind Dwight and Jameer/new wing player), Vince would be pretty good as the load is lessened. He was the 2nd option last year behind Dwight, but a switch from the 2nd to 3rd option is a big step. Without his athleticism (which was what made him so **** good in my book), he isn't as lethal. Give him another 1/2 year to become 100 % comfortable, and if he's slightly improved, trade him at great value, and if he's not improved, trade him also. Anyway, I think his butt is out the door this summer, and out the door at the trade deadline for sure.

The Orlando Magic's goal was not to break 60 regular season games, it was to win a title (****... win 2 games in the Finals). That didn't happen, and Vince's playing did not help in any way.

This is why people are upset. Vince Carter is a guy who just joined the team, so most fans (who aren't VC nut huggers), put Carter in a short leash. He always had a reputation for giving up and hundreds of infamous "winces". In the beginning of the season, the team looked like crap. Howard wasn't getting enough touches, and neither was Lewis. While the team still had a decent record, most people saw how ugly the team looked.

Then came January, and Vince did nearly the impossible: shoot below 30% for an entire month and the team went 9-8. Finally after the All-Star break the team started to click. Jameer Nelson was back to his All-Star form and Carter seemed to have healed all of his nagging injuries.

Now, we're back to the playoffs and Wince continues the bad habits he showed in January. Settling for too many jumpers, hardly driving, shooting contested fade away jumpers, and etc. It settled down against ATL but it's hard to even consider that series really a "series".

When the pressure really hit him, however, he did not perform well. He had one good game offensively and the rest were just bad. Maybe one mediocre game, but everything else was bad.

This can be said even about most "big" games in the regular season.

Against Boston, LA, and Cleveland, combined, he had 4 good games (out of a possible 10), one of them in the first half (LA). Out of those 4 games, the team lost 2 of them.

And they weren't just bad games or mediocre games, they were really bad. His shooting averages against Cleveland, Boston, and LA were 39.7%, 38.7%, and 38.1%.

You take a look at Lewis, Nelson, and Howard, and it's different. Even LEWIS! He did not have a great year, but his averages against those same teams were either better than his season average or close to the same. Nelson's shooting against the Lakers was the biggest difference (39.3%), but he also averaged 14 pts/6 rebounds/7.5 assists in those two games.

Carter's assists, rebounds, and shooting numbers were worse almost all over the board.

There's too much evidence for me to continue to "BELIEVE" that this guy will ever be able to perform well under pressure.
