Is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus -- band -- Do, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, 'Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore,' and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, 'Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death.' And you know, well, I'm not sure."

In January 2009, Glenn Beck said on his program, "The most used phrase in my administration if I were to be President would be 'What the hell you mean we're out of missiles?'"

Re-read this thread, I've said Beck comes across as a loon, but my question was to highlight the crack-headesque "conspiracies".

Seriously? This is criticism that can't seperate the trees from the forest...

What is Beck's issue with this?

Encouraging volunteerism? Or

The WH organizing "artists & the media" to promote their agenda (ie propaganda) (a re-occuring theme)???

Spare me the comprehension lesson. I don't need it.

You're telling me you wish to spend your time defending Beck? I think you must enjoy the argument for argument's sake. I find it hard to believe that this is where you want to spend your energy. Beck and Rush are buffoons that draw the blood out of conservative ideology and will continue to shrink the party's ability to win national elections.

What Rush discovered and Beck emulates is that you can make a ton of money and gain much power catering very strongly to the core of the party. 20 million listeners will make you a media leviathan and extremely rich (I read that Beck's made 24 million in the last 14 months).

But 20 million will not win you a national election and the more they push the party to the extreme, the more the Democrat's grin.

It's a shame, I voted for George Herbert Bush, the last republican internationalist. Back then, the National Review with William F Buckley still led the conservative discourse. If you wanted a good conservative quip, there was always a good George Will column to go by.

Conservative ideology is more appealing than Beck or Rush can ever make it by pandering to the extreme.

I find Keith Olbermann insufferable nowadays (and I loved him in Sports Center) but no one, and I mean no one; suggest that Keith is the ideological leader of the Democratic Party.

Did you just bring this discussion full circle or are you stuck on a loop?

I twice posted that I'm not a fan of Beck (or Maddow) and find them incredibly annoying. I also stated, my personal feeling don't dismiss everything they say. That imo is small minded. Akin to claiming all opposition to Obama is racist.

The response to that? More shallow criticism that Beck just spews conspiracies to pander to his audience.

OK, enlighten me...In other words, back it up, and prove you actually know what you are talking about, and not just regurgitating what other left wingers say.

Well, according to left wing bloggers...Beck thinks Obama is a manchurian candidate for Chavez & his call for community service is indoctrination!

Those are special interpretations!

Your rant, dude, your just being argumentative, Beck is pandering to his audience, and makes a lot of money doing it.

Great, I seem to recall acknowledging that already, but adding the fact he makes lots of money to this claim adds a lot of depth to it.

That really does make Acorn less corrupt. SEIU suddenly didn't write a self serving stimulus bill. GE doesn't stand to make billions off cap-n-trade. Van Jones wasn't a self professed radical that resigned in the face of lies. Anita Dunn didn't give a pro Moa speech to HS students. Valeria Jarrett isn't a slum lord who is considered 1 of the 10 most corrupt politicians in America, ect...

And, just for the record, I couldn't care less if he polarizes the Republican party. If he and Rush, as you claim, are considered the leaders of the Republican party, that is a result of the lack of leadership in the Republican party. Well, and, deft political strat by Dems to paint them as such.

But, again, I point out, Dems didn't have an issue with this guy when Bush was Prez and he was railing on about the corruption, hidden agenda's, and broken promises of his admin. Now that he's highlighting it in the Obama admin, he's Rush reincarnated, and everything he says should be ignored??? Convenient.

My point was fairly straight forward. Getting your news from Beck is no different than gettng your news from the Daily Show, or Bill Maher. There are legitimate conservative journalist out there that make the same points Beck makes without the lunacy that surrounds Beck's assertions.

You seem to believe that because you state you don't like him that somehow you have a balanced view of him while others are just left-wing ignorants. You deflect the the points made against him by saying "I already said I don't like him", or that you're not a fan, or that he's annoying. Then you go on to defend him and minimize any other view of him as biased.

Will Beck talk about issues that are legitimate on his show? Yes. But then he'll go on the lunatic binge with his Red Phone and Socialist/Communist rant. Why do you need to be an appologist for someone like that?

I don't have to "prove" to you I know what I'm talking about any more than you have to me.

Surprise Selection Shocks Nashville

Obama%20in%20cowboy%20hat.jpg

NASHVILLE - President Barack Obama stunned the country music world today by picking up its highest honor, Country Music Entertainer of the Year.

Mr. Obama was chosen unanimously, according to the Country Music Association, beating out such favorite as Carrie Underwood and Toby Keith.

In Nashville , country music insiders were shocked by Mr. Obama's selection, given that he has only been in office for eight months and during that time has yet to record a single country song.

But Mr. Obama was gracious in receiving the honor, saying that he was "honored and humbled" by the award before excusing himself to accept this year's Heisman Trophy.

*UPDATE*

I have just received word that Obama has just won the Stanley Cup after attending Disney
