Lakers Don't Regret Trading Butler

Recommended Posts

The Lakers traded Caron Butler to the Wizards for Kwame Brown a few seasons ago, a deal that appears rather lopsided right now.

Brown never panned out in Los Angeles, and currently plays for Detroit. Butler went on to become a multi-time All-Star.

"You've got to let it go. Those are things that are done," coach Phil Jackson said. "We always say that trading Caron got us Pau Gasol, and we're very happy about that."

The Lakers used Brown's expiring contract to land Pau Gasol from the Grizzles last season.

Phil Jackson made a valid point.

it was a bad trade...and i would say having an inside guy in the gizzliy's organization is what landed them gasol.
