    Dwight cannot sign with the Lakers. His options after the season for "large market" are Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta. That is it. Are those places really worth forfeiting 25 million dollars in salary.

     

    Other teams could make some trades to get their payroll down. Those are his only options it would seem, but a lot can happen in a year. Did anyone think Miami would be able to sign LeBron, Bosh and Wade a year before it went down?

    My thing is waiting even until the deadline doesn't help the tanking process/draft position cause.

     

    We keep him from day one if he extends or has done sort of legal promise if that's possible. We can't go on word or anything else.

     

    I just want this idiot gone. This relationship is too strained IMO but jjgator knows best.

     

    I'm not saying keep him, I'm just saying it would be dumb to make a move just to be rid of the drama. I like that Hennigan is taking his time and looking at all angles. Making a move for the sake of making a move is part of the reason we regressed so much the last couple seasons.

    Don't flatter yourself. The password recovery function doesn't work for anybody. It was one of many issues we've had since we converted over. The moderators have zero control over that.

     

     

    I was wondering why I couldn't recover my password(I signed up as jjgator84 a while back, but I typically just lurked here and didn't sign in).

    If HWNSNBU is saying this in an effort to remove Houston from the mix I say we just go ahead and trade him to Houston anyway. The Lakers do not have the cap space to sign him outright, no major market team does. The hit financially that Dwight and HWNSNBU would take by not getting the max length contract and the max Adidas money would be a large enough chunk that there is no way these guys are going to mess with a trade to LA or Houston, just call their bluff.

     

    Exactly, Dwight and HWNSNBU are just trying to take back the power but the truth is they don't have any. Dwight basically resigns to whatever team we trade him to(or goes to Dallas) if he wants a max deal(which he does). It's still all about whatever team gives us the best package, and it's likely that would be the Rockets.

    I have to know: was that "blackmail" thing something Dwight ACTUALLY said, or something that he was rumored to have said? Because....I keep hearing it and each time I do, I just can't believe anyone would be that stupid.

     

    Dwight said that he never used the word blackmail. He probably just used the word extortion instead(Why would someone say, "I never used the word blackmail," unless that's what they were implying?)

    I'm just wondering... did HWNSNBU skip the day they tought law at Yale Law School? There is obviously a contest between agent and client to see which one can leak the most information to make the other one look like idiotic. Other agents must be looking at this and laughing.

     

    Isn't that what Tom Cruise said to Demi Moore in A Few Good Men?(being sick the day they taught law at law school).

    We would have lost with Dwight last year against the pacers anyway...and the ones who say different don't know **** about basketball. We have had this team together for 2 years. Each time we lost in 1st round of playoffs..One with dwight..one without dwight.

     

    Us losing to the Pacers with Dwight is purely speculation on your part. I think we would have had a good chance of winning the series(I'm by no means saying we should keep Dwight though).
