  1. O'quinn is that gas station on your way to work that has pretty good coffee. If that gas station closes or starts making terrible coffee there are likely many other options for you as a replacement.

O'quinn plays hard, can hit a jump shot, plays inconsistent defense that averages out to mediocre. He has a few good games. His ceiling is what it is.

He's a young Jason Maxiel. Hes jason Thompson. He's jordan hill. He's maurrisse speights. He's darrell Arthur.

He's the bud light promotional bottle opener on your keychain. He serves a purpose and while you have him you're satisfied. You are used to seeing him and his small characteristics like how he stands out in a group of other keys with his blue chrome finish. If you have him on your keychain for several years you will get upset when he leaves because of familiarity and nostalgia. But let's not pretend you can't go into any random store and find another bottle opener that functions just like him.

If he spends 15 years on this team as a twelfth man then that's awesome. He's got a role that he's comfortable in. The fact we're getting this production out of him as a late second rounder when he's putting up production expected of someone picked 20-30 picks ahead of him is great. But let's not pretend he's some diamond in the rough when he's not.

Loved these metaphors. I enjoy o'quinn a lot - probably has a lot to do with that bombtastic beard of his.

  2. I kept thinking about how we don't need Dwight, but then I got to watching a lot of old highlight videos from the 2009 Finals Team.

Dwight dominated both ends of the floor back then.

Watch the highlights and get good feels that maybe, just maybe, we could one day reconcile and bring back Dwight if he can learn to get out of his own way.

I miss the days when ESPN showed actual highlights and not 28 seconds of the game including plays that were pretty much irrelevant to the outcome.

  3. Let me ask you something, do you believe what others tell you all the time? Or just those that have a website where they hire people like Brian Schmitz to make little youtube videos and point out things from players they like?

I have been preaching Young since the fall. Sorry dude.

I personally value Mike Bianchi's opinion/word higher than anything else.

All jokes aside, i think young can be really good...never doubt a lefty's ability to shoot (or think he can shoot in Josh Smith's case). I'm sure Henny and the gang will take a look and review all their options.

  4. It is wrong because it a meaningless number, based on an impossible supposition. There is absolutely no chance that the 2nd pick will occur without the first pick happening, the balls moving, and the odds changing.

Furthermore, it lists our odds of winning the 3rd pick as 15.6%; the worst case scenario for our odds is if Phoenix and Minnesota go #1 and #2, as our odds then become 156/989 or 15.774%. So according to the original graphic, our "odds" of winning the third pick is actually less than the worst case scenario?!? Really, does that actually make sense to anyone?

i actually fell asleep trying to make sense of all these numbers haha...less than 4 hours!

  5. Are there any watch parties here in Orlando to watch the Magic Lottery drawing tonight?

I'm honestly freaking out over our future being controlled through a lottery. 8PM cannot come soon enough.

last year they hosted one at the Amway, but you had to be on a list to get in - used it as a way to get people's contact to reach out about ticket packages. I'm sure they're doing something similar this year

  6. They hold the #6 pick in the draft. If purely draft picks they could send their pick this year, plus their 2016 first round draft pick (2015 first round is going to Phoenix, 2017 to Orlando).

In terms of players they are a bit thin. They could throw Nick Young our way if he's under contract, he played well as a sixth man for them this season. Kendall Marshall did ok in spurts at PG, decent passer, not a got much offense. I think they also have Robert Sacre under contract, but he's not much to brag about.

For us to move up I suppose Afflalo and #12 for #6 and Nick Young could be a fair deal, especially if their pick lands higher and gives us the chance of another top talent.

As much as I love the Swaggy P Circus, I dont think we want Nick Young here...he doesnt fit the kind of character, team oriented profile. He's about 2 things and 2 things only - getting buckets and having swag.

  7. Just like Terrence Ross wasn't going top 10, just like Russell Westbrook wasn't going into the top 5. I'm with you, I don't think he'll go top 3 either but we've seen teams value athleticism and youth over the last few years. He's 6'9" with shoes, one of the 3 youngest prospects in the draft, and his athleticism is off the charts. It's possible a teams falls in love with him and puts him at a higher value over Parker and possibly Embiid. Likely won't happen but also wouldn't surprise me. That's all I'm saying.

Oh and I meant to put that Chicago was giving us cash consideration in that trade scenario a and not us.

the cash considerations just sold me on the deal...i hope it happens.

  8. I think he'll then buy the Wizards and then sell his share to come out of retirement and play for the Wiz just to retire again and then buy the Hornets.

    That also never happened before.

He'll also save the world (and the world's best basketball players) from invading space aliens trying to steal our bball talent.

    That definitely didnt happen before

  9. Absolutely the best. I'm hopeful that we can have at least half the success they've created over the decades. Decades. Sheeesh

Pop was in love will hill back at the time...was the reason for the tony parker trade rumors. He cried when he told hill they were trading him. It has definitely worked out in the spurs favor.

  10. @chadfordinsider: The picture of Andrew Wiggins vert jump floating around? His agent, Bill Duffy, told me it's a 44 inch vert.

I feel like this has to be a max vert and not a standing vert...the position of his body at the image looks like he has a little extra momentum moving towards the measuring stick...still crazy regardless.

I'd gladly take any of those 3, but I'm really liking Exum now. Adding him to the lineup gives the Magic size and athleticism, neither of which can be taught. Sign me up.

I'm all about pairing exum with dipo at this point, i think the duo they would form would be electric. Excited to see that a visit to orlando is in the works.
