  1. People actually think there is a better person on our roster for SG than Afflalo?

    Laugh.

He's not Kobe by any means but we have no one else even close to his skill level at that position.

Don't think anyone thinks the other options are better just that his jacking up shots, lackluster defense, and black hole offense doesn't help us win games and really only stops the rookies and youngins from getting touches and getting in rhythm.

  2. Im surprised nobody mentioned Lebrons right arm on his drive to the bucket being used to virtually push a well positioned defender to the ground and sprawling under the basket 10 feet away. He was stuffed if he didnt do it and it couldnt be more obvious. Im also equally surprised he didnt get the and one on the play. Sooner or later the league will eventually give Lebron 4 foul shots on every foul and allow him to perform on court atomic wedgies without a foul call.

As a side note...the Lakers managed to end on a 20-0 run to end the game last night....you be the judge if Stern hasnt told the refs the Lakers WILL make the playoffs. Good luck to Utah getting a foul call the rest of the season.

The picture CBS used in their game recap is the game-winning layup. Firstly, and probably most incredible, is that Jones actually gets higher than LeBron on the play (it's also insane how high the two of them got). Secondly, LeBron's arm is literally driven into jones keeping him off the ball. Dequan would've swatted that had LeBron not gotten away with the offensive foul.

    Oh well, the tank continues.

  3. I thought Vaughn did a good job. Didn't rush to put Afflalo in after the line-up with him on the bench brought us back.

And O'Quinn wouldn't have guarded LeBron but he would've been a body to put at the rim. Harrington can't even dunk and he's defending the rim. Small issue, just something I thought was strange especially since he hadn't played all half.

  4. A lot of the telecast attention was on Harkless offensively but jesus he had LeBron so frustrated with his defense. Sagged off and used his wing span to block pretty much everything, turned Bronbron into a jump shooter to where he was flopping and dipping his shoulder just to get calls at the end.

Moe's defensive potential is off the charts.

My only question was why Vaughn went with a lineup having ZERO shot blocking on that last possession. Nelson, Moore, Afflac, Jones, Harrington. "YO HERES THE RIM, GO AT IT!"

Great effort though and T12, Moe, and Nik were all tremendous. Nelson struggled from the floor but made some big shots late and did a great job setting up the other guys. Great veteran presence to have on the team.

  5. Like Lamb, think Harris is in europe in a couple years, Udrih makes us watchable for a few weeks. Probably just a bigger trade trip for the future.

We still have Dwight's S/T to use in free agency.

I hated this trade at first (mostly because the Charlotte thing but I guess thats seperate and makes sense) but am still trying to look at this as building blocks for the future. It's just frustrating that we've seen Dwight, Ryan, and JJ all go without a clear cut direction or piece coming back.

  6. The issue with some teams is that JJ is going to be a free agent. He seems like a guy that would have more draw in a S/T or a deal next year if he's wrapped up. Teams don't have to gamble and let's be honest, the teams at the top right now don't really need Redick. So you're getting middle teams who are also trying to get to the top who will be careful with what they offer.

Grizzlies deadline news: The Grizzlies are making a push to attain JJ Redick.

Whats does Memphis have for JJ?

    Wroten?

The Rockets have Delfino and Harden along with Parsons and Lin already ball handling. They really don't need JJ at all. Afflalo would be a better fit because of his perceived defensive abilities and even that is doubtful.

I think Redick is moved for a package we hate or we make zero moves. Injuries have destroyed the season and the trade deadline.

  8. I presume he was talking about acquiring picks for this year through trade.

Speaking of Milwaukee rumors, Redick is too much for a pick that will probably be 14-17 imo. Milwaukee is looking for a long term answer too. Maybe Afflalo fits the bill? 14-16 could land us CJ McCollum or Trey Burke. Not as sexy as Smart though. Maybe if we added Glen Davis( or Harrington) and they gave us back Dalembert so that way we could clear off some serious money. Afflalo and Davis minus Dalembert looks good for Mil come playofs. Dalembert will give us expiring and some short term frontcourt D. Not an ideal transaction but there aren't many rumors floating out there.

Would Glen be back for the post season?

I agree that Afflalo may not be a bad fish to dangle in front of Milwaukee. They want a commitment well Afflalo has no way of leaving. I'd be fine just taking their first rounder this year back. To get out from Afflalo's contract and get a first rounder out of it in the middle of the draft (the "strength IMO of this year's class), not a bad deal at all. And just pushes the tank.

  9. Nick was great for 36 minutes but was absolutely dreadful with the game on the line.

He can dunk. I have a buddy who played on his AAU team and Nick actually sent me a video on twitter of him dunking haha.

I like Nick's game and wouldn't mind AT ALL to give him a chance here. He's got a lot of talent, it's always been the mental game with him.

Though I did find it funny that Parsons immediately became a legitimate player once out from Nick's shadow.

  10. The issue with trading Redick is the lack of a contender needing someone with his skillset with assets to offer. OKC maybe but that's even a bit of a weird fit.

The last two drafts have been considered weaker drafts which makes the pool of young talent players who you'd look at as a rebuilding piece shallow. I mean the case could be made that Nik is the 3rd or 4th best player from his draft class.

Unless a team has unprotected picks to offer, I just don't see a very deep trade pool.
