We won't be that bad, especially when Harrington and/or Harkless move Hedo to the bench or into a suit. Meer has always played better without Dwight. When the offense runs through Meer is when we've been the best over the years and that includes Dwight in the line-up. Our best offense was the 1/5 PNR where Meer would finish or basically just throw it off the glass and let Dwight go get it. If those counted, his assist numbers would be much higher. Redick and Aflalo are both starting quality 2's and will be better than most guys they see off the bench at their position. Not to mention that both can go on insta-offense 6-0, 9-0 type runs by themselves when they get hot. Glen is Glen and will pull his 14-8 per game most likely this year while providing good help D from the PF spot. And to be honest, I love what I've seen from the two big guys. Ayon can be a weapon for us both cutting to the rim (amazing what happens when the center keeps the ball high and finishes in one fluid motion as opposed to bringing to down trying to dunk every time) and his passing to cutters from the post, from the elbow, or outside. And Vucevic if he continues rebounding and playing physical will grow into a really good center as well. I am really excited for this team aside from knowing Hedo will still play. A damn shame Moe is hurt because I'd love for him to start from day 1. Are we as good as Boston or Miami? No, but otherwise I don't see a team in the East I don't think we can at least compete with

I want a line-up of Ish, Afflalo, Eyenga, Harklees, McBob just because it will be a fun transition line-up.

Afflalo isn't a lockdown defender? I've always been lead to believe he was although I've personally never been a huge fan of his. And Vucevic sounds like a clone of Brook Lopez except with a post game and some toughness and a reasonable contract. Very good read.

Kyle Korver is good for a 12 points in 2 minutes run every once in a while. He'd prefer Rashard Lewis back.

I'm looking at our roster, and I think if we play a little faster and try and get all of our guys a lot of looks, I don't think we're that bad. We have 13 players on this roster who I feel comfortable with on the floor. That even includes Hedo if he's on the bench in a 15-20 minute role. Nelson / Ish Redick / AA Moe / Harrington / Q Glen / Nicholson Nikola / Ayon That's not a good team in any manner but if Nelson plays the way he finished the year, Redick plays as he always has as the starter, and we can get the defensive improvements that AA/Moe/Ayon will give us that we lacked in the post season last year, we can win 35-40 games and maybe make a run at the 8 seed. We have double max room because of the trade exception. And although the picks may not be worth anything to us, as the suns proved, they may be worth something to a team with a star on the way out.

6'10 with a 7'2 ish wing-span would be unreal. He's younger than Paul George too and better defensively. Harklees will be very good with proper coaching.

I'd like to see them push the pace this year, play Nicholson, OQUINN, and Harklees maximum minutes. IMO, a successfull season ends with one of them on the all-rookie team. I don't entirely care about what anyone on the roster does outside of those 3. Nelson and Afflalo i guess because we're paying them good money.

I would be more excited if I was given a promise that Hedo Turkoglu would never play. Out of Meer, Ish, Afflalo, JJ, Harklees, Q, Nicholson, Glen, Harrington, Ayon, I can't think of a single player who makes me cringe every time they step on the floor. Richardson and Duhon are gone. Find a way to dump Turk and I'll be thrilled.

Been out of the country. Reading through. I'm frustrated we traded with LA, Denver, and Philly and didn't walk away with Lawson, Gallo, Javale, Bynum, or Iguodala. The euro is a body and nothing more. I personally love that we got Harklees. He has unreal potential with refinement. Afflalo is a great addition, a little expensive, but makes JJ expendable next year and can give us 12 points with lockdown D. Great role player. Harrington is a really good sixth man and gives us a similar offensive dynamic to Anderson/Glen when he's out there with BBD. Solid piece there. Throw ins were throw ins. Bleh. The draft picks are about as valuable as a Dwight Howard magic jersey. We couldn't get one lottery garaunteed or pick from a crap team involving Dwight freaking Howard? Jesus. And the picks are all protected too which is even more disheartening. I love that we have that big of a trade exception. Smart play is to do what the Lakers did with theirs, use it to sign a FA and offer the crap picks back to whomever we're signing from. We have a really deep team as long as Hedo doesn't see the floor. Nelson / Ish Afflalo / Redick Moe / QRICH Glen / Harrington Ayon / PhillyDude Would love to see us run more this year with that depth. I don't think we're Charlotte bad but we won't be good either unless Ayon is Gortat 2.0. I wish we could've gotten a true center piece or a valuable draft pick. Unless Harklees develops completely, the best player we get for Dwight Howard is Aaron Afflalo. And cap relief I guess.

Dwight Howard has moved to second place on the "I really hope he's on the Magic for a long time" list. Glen is number 1. He was one of the best centers in the NBA the last part of the year, has championship experience, is an incredible leader, oh, and is being paid a very very reasonable 6.4 million next year. That has the potential to be one hell of a bargain. I love having Glen on this team. At the end of last year (really after it became clear Duhon and Hedo and Jason would play their regular minutes), Glen became one of the few reasons I watched almost every game. Dude is genuinely a fun player to watch. Love his effort, love his leadership.

Chris Duhon is like Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton rolled into one awful fat alcoholic combination.

Stan had more to do with those trades than Dwight did.

FWIW, Micky Arrison lost money this year and they won the title. Different owners look at the league in different ways. Some look to get every penny (Sterling), some look at it as business on the side (probably where RDV falls), and others are legitimate fans and just want a good team (Cuban, Arrison).

Then he screen shotted about 12 DMs from Dwight where he basically goes off on the Magic organization and says they don't care about him; just the money amongst a couple complaints about the way things have been handled.

Oddish, I don't find what SVG did as being all that bad. Dude was honest and I appreciate that. Hate coach speek. But ownership didn't even take a side; completely ignored the whole thing. You can't sit silent when the two figureheads of your business are squared off like that. And agreed, stopping Otis from managing things was good, but FIRE HIM or publicly demote him. Just sitting back and having it leaked that he wasn't allowed to make trades is unprofessional. We've been bounced from the first round 2 years in a row, the only move we made from the first go-round was amnestying our backup point guard and replacing our big off the bench. Now, the only move it looks like we're going to make is trading the one "primetime" player we have. This stupid Dwightmare stems from a much larger problem and that's the awful ownership and management that we've had over the last few years. From the top (RDV, Martins) to the middle (stan, Otis, Dwight) to the bottom (great picks like Fran and Orton), it's been a train wreck. It sucks for Hennigan that he's in the middle of this mess and seems to be the only person amongst the "powers that be" (Dwight, RDV, Martins) with any kind of professionalism. Only person capable of actually listening to anyone else. In Henny I trust, but at this point, he's the only real "beacon of hope" within the organization.

Regardless of what happens with Dwight or the rest of our garbage, it's time for RDV to sell the team. Even if RDV/Martins only view Dwight as a business asset, to only check up on him once? Not talk to his doctor? That's just bad business. Drunk dialing, stripping the GM of power without firing him, letting a coach tell the media a player wants him fired, a 3rd superstar leaving on bad terms. It's unreal the ish that happens with this team over and over and over again.

could be wrong but havent Bosh and CP3 been rumored to want a trade to Orlando in the past? I remember vividly Chris was rumored to have demanded one here. Don't remember Bosh exactly.

I think the team is just looking to totally change it's image. Otis was very rash, kind of a gun slinger when it came to GMing; he just spent money on whatever, made whatever trade was proposed; no patience at all. Hennigan is definitely a more collected, patient GM as evidenced by the coaching search and the Howard fiasco. Remember, Otis tried to trade Dwight for Lopez last year. Rob was having none of that. Stan yelled and screamed and seemed quick to pull the trigger on guys that weren't in his main core. If we're looking for a more patient coach, it just seems to go with the whole image change as a whole.

We're not title contenders because our role players sucks, not because Dwight is sick of being a one man army. What this, the 4th time we've had a star leave (3rd that was sick of being a 1man show) yet were continuously surprised and pissed at players who do this to us. Enough of this. I think it's about time we do all that we can for a change to keep the star here.

We have 2013 cap room. And even more in 2014. The Nelson deal hurt but we will have flexibility.
