Bledsoe would be a great player to add. We just need to wait until next year. I don't want anybody who might do something like win us a couple of games and knock us out of a top 3 pick in 2014.

I hope it's not Oli. For me it's desperately trade out of the spot or take Noel. Porter would be terrible.

nbadraft.net has BMac going first overall. If that happens is Nerlens Noel the obvious pick or do we lean Burke? Does Bennett or Porter come into play?

I loved him in college. Just don't think his game will transfer over to that well to the next level. He isn't overally big or strong and doesn't have the athleticism to make up for it. Top tier pgs like Rose, Derrone Williams, Westbrook will own him. The game against Syracuse supports his struggles against length shooting 1-8 with 4 assists. Also how does the lack of size/athleticism effect his ability to pass? Guys have longer arms and are quicker in the nba. Against Louisville he struggled against the press and played out of control. Yea he dropped 24 in the championship but it exposed part of his game with 4 turnovers where in the nba how does he react in the 4th quarter of the playoffs? For a guy who is a very good passer he seems to take a lot of unnecessary shots; eg vs UF. In the league he is strictly an outside shooter. There is absolutely no way Burke will be an efficient scorer in traffic. He has the ability to break down a defense and get to the rim but if forced to take the shot inside as bad as he was in college its only going to be worse in the pros. There were times he really struggled on defense and times where he just looked lackadaisical. He is going against men and he will get abused. Not to mention he will routinely get embarrassed on pick n rolls. He was sick in college and think he will turn out to be a decent player, but I also think McLemore will be a decent player with a chance to very good. You cannot draft at number 2 and take a guy bc we have need or because he has less potential to really suck. There are 7 pgs in the league right now who are better than he ever will be. If thats a case there is no point in drafting him that high. So if he becomes say top 10-15 at his position you can call him a good player but he is nothing more than average among league starters. BMac possesses a rare set of skills. Call him a specialist but everyone has a roll. Not to mention he is a pretty good passer. Just my opinion. Time will tell.

This is where your logic is flawed. We are not in a position to draft for need. This isnt the nfl. Talent trumps need 99.999999999% of the time in the nba draft. Unless your the Miami Heat, 1995 Bulls or 2001 Lakers do you ever draft for need. That why some teams end up with Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan. Just saying.

Allen and Reggie could put the ball on the flood but BMac can't? I dont get that. There are reasons neither were asked to orchestrate the offense because they were both dynamic scorers and not strong creating through dribble penetration. The only comparison I made was to their ability to dribble. I see no reason why BMac wouldnt be able to improve his shot off the dribble or occasionally break down a defender. The talent is their. But since we are making comparison BMac has the best shooting form I have seen since Ray Allen, except maybe Kyrie.

Ron Artest has had a more notable of a career than Danny Greene, no? That was the point of the post. Guys who have had good career but struggle dribbling. I laugh at Danny Green cause he doesnt have half the athleticism that BMac has. We are seeing Green's peak right now. He is to limited physically to ever grow outside of his current role.

Ray Allen and Reggie Miller are 2 that come to mind. I would compare his ball handling to either of those guys. Not really a star but i'll add J-Rich and Ron Artest in there too. Besides why would we ask him to dribble? If he obviously struggles at it don't put him a position where he has to control the ball. If a coach is that dumb they should be fired. I don't have a problem with him scoring mainly on transition and assisted three pointers. As for Danny Green

Huh? Some people are arguing Burke because pg is the biggest need, others bc it has the biggest impact, and now because is a rare talent??? Mike Conley, Darren Collison, John Wall, Isaiah Thomas, Ty Lawson, Raymond Felton, George Hill, Jameer Nelson, Jrue Halliday, Goran Drajic. You can pick and chose which ones you feel Burke is better than and which ones he isnt. There are 5 other pg's left off this list who are head and shoulders better. A solid pg really isnt that hard to find. Of the top of my head Tony Parker is the only really good pg that I can think who has won a championship in recent memory. You can argue Rondo but he wasnt considered top tier in 2008. There really is only a handful of rare talents in the league. Trey Burke will never be one. One talent that is a rare is finding a great shooter. Not many exist in today's nba. There is Ray Allen, Stefan Curry, the white guy for the Knicks who I cannot think of his name, Kyrie Irving, and Dirk. I know there are a few more but we don't have as many true knock down shooters as in the past. If BMac doesnt live up to no. 2 he still is an unbelievably efficient scorer who can space the floor. If Burke doesnt live up to no. 2 he is an average to below average pg. Which would you rather have?

Would the Lakers Trade Rosters with the Magic?

No way Kupchek trades his roster for ours. Assuming they resign Dwight this team is in a great position to build a perenial championship contender. Artest, Kobe, Pau, and Blake will all be coming off the books over the next 2 offseason. Nash is the only current player on signed thru the 2014 offseason. Fans tend to overrate their own players and its no different on this board. The fact that we are discussing this proves that point. Vuj, Mo, and Harris are all good players in their own right but no way would any intelligent gm take a roster filled with second and third tier talents guys over a team in a position to have 2 or even 3 elite nba talents.

No doubt he needs the right system to thrive. If he's our guy it's on JV to put him in a position to succeed. He is going to struggle creating his shot in one-on-one situations. BMac will do some damage on a team whose offense allows him to find space to shot with opportunities to use his athletism cutting to the hoop. If he is used properly he is a 20+ a night scoring shooting close to 50% from the field.

Guys like JJ Redick, Jameer Nelson, Jimmer Fredette, and Evan Turner have all won that award recently. Of course so did Shaq and Durant, but the point is the award doesnt mean anything in terms of nba success. All of those guys are good players but not what you would want with the 2nd pick in the draft. I get what you are saying that it wasnt that he just started play well in the tourney. The guy wasn't talked about being a dark horse for the first pick in the draft before.

Augustine put up similar numbers to Maynor last year. His last season in Cha he averaged 11 and 6. If i'm taking a pg number 2 he needs to do a lot more and I don't see why Burke would be that guy. Its not that nba teams play press consistently but what happens in the 4th quarter of a tight playoff game when they are? How does he look in a playoff series going up against rondo or westbrook? When drafting you take talent over need.

DJ Augustine, Mateen Cleeves, Eric Maynor, and Acie Law were all pretty good college players who showed in the tourney, but none of them every become anything in the league. I'm not bashing Burke but he is every one's darling. With all due respect people who think the tourney doesnt factor into draft stock are idiots. Its not so much what the stat line reads. It's more knowing what to look for. Lamarcus Aldridge had a really bad in the tourney when he was at TX, if my memory is correct I think he was 1-11,while Burke but up 24 pts against Louisville at college's biggest stage. So to the uneducated consumer Burke would be considered clutch while Aldridge sucks. The thing that people don't realize is that all of Aldridge's missing where off of the top of the front of the rim. When a players shot is on this what they should be hitting. There is a huge difference between a players shot not falling and choking. LA is now one of the better players in the nba. Go back and watch the Louisville game and Burke struggled. He is regarded as a level headed, intelligent player, but when Louisville turned up the defense he couldn't play with them. How is he going to look going up the elite athletes in the NBA? When he is pressured he is forced to react and doesnt have elite abilties to combat it. Now imagine in the playoffs going up against Rondo or Westbrook. Those guys will embaress him. If Chris Paul is my pg I love the guy coming off my bench. But what is it that people think his game will translate to the next level?

Every top prospect in this draft has flaws. Assuming Noel goes 1 and we keep the pick i'm thinking BMac. I love many aspects of Otto Porter's game but strongly question his ability to shoot at the next level. Oladipo is a great defender but cannot see him becoming anything more than serviceable on offense. Absolutely love Burke if he is going to be my backup pg. In the title game people will say he played great scoring 24 pts but he really struggled against the Louisville defense and just looked out of control at times. BMac can shoot the lights out and because of that he will always have a place in the NBA. He may not turn out to be the man, but none of the other guys will. And in my opinion and he has a skill set that will translate better to the nba game than any of the other mentioned prospects.

If we have a top 2 pick it comes down to Noel and Mclemore. There are no other player who even warrant a top 5 pick. I like Oladipo but he'll never develop an offensive game. Trey Burke was fun to watch at Michigan but he'll never be more than an average starter. In a good draft he gets picked up to back up a Westbrook or Paul.

Van Gundy Exposes Howard's Power Play

Billy Donivan returning to Florida was the best thing to ever happen to Otis Smith. Had we not gotten SVG Otis would have rightfully been fired by his 3rd season. Its nice that someone in media recognizes Stan as one of the best coaches in the league. A lot of fans fail to realize this.

Thoughts on Dunk Contest participants ?

Paul George is sick but a Knick winning would probably make better PR.

    Time to Fire Otis Smith???

I did like Bass. To bad Otis coverted him to Glen Davis. The Steve Francis trade wasn't horrible either but he negated it by turning Ariza for Evans and Cook.
