If Steven Hunter had a motor, much higher basketball IQ, and about 10x's the heart. They're both skinny as hell though...heck Hunter was probably bigger than Noel

Dwight Decision Thread - Update on Page 10

May help inspire Dallas to move the #13 pick also -
No, but I've been highly unproductive!
-
He's much more athletic than AA, so at least there's that. To me he's not the sexy pick, but as Jay Bilas has said, "there's zero percent chance he fails" at the next level.
-
I don't understand why you think he lied to the press yesterday if a deal gets done today? Everything he said yesterday could be 100% true and a deal still could still get done today. I'll let it die

Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?
magicblue replied to Jagsfreak27's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
The most commonly rumored trade was Bledsoe/Butler for AA/Nicholson. I agree, he wouldn't be worth giving up more than that...although he's considerably better than Ish Smith (as I'm sure in reality you're aware) -
The difference between #2 and #9 isn't that significant, particularly in this draft, and we need talent everywhere...regardless of position.
-
Don't have too much hope for the "human being" (as Henny put it, lol!) drafted at #51

Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?

Why? He's a FA after next season and only 23. Not disagreeing that this could be agent leaked, just the shrinking chances of starting part -
Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?

I went back and listened again (the questions regarding Clippers begin right around 1:45 in part 2 of the press conference) and Hennigan never says, "we're not making a trade with them". He said that all talks up until now (with all teams) have been exploratory, that in all honesty he hadn't talked to them in nearly three weeks since after the draft combine, and that he'd be "stunned" if a deal was made tomorrow. If you and others are going to take his words at face value, and hold him to them, then at the very least be accurate when quoting the guy -
Weird. I get the feeling I might have a bowel movement in the next 10 minutes. I don't think anyone's "expecting" anything, but there's just as good a chance now as there was before the press conference
-
There's absolutely nothing he said today that would damage his credibility if a deal goes down tomorrow. He said he hadn't spoken to LA in three weeks...let's assume that's true. Is there any particular reason that talks with LA couldn't resume tomorrow leading to a deal being consummated? Do you really think a member of the media is going to be petty (had trouble deciding between petty or stupid) enough to call him out and ask why he wasn't more forthright before the deal was made? Good grief, they'd probably be laughed out of the press conference.
-
He said he would be stunned if a deal was made with LA tomorrow in response to a direct question involving named players from both teams that no competent GM would ever answer honestly. Do you have any idea how that would sit with his players if he said he was actively trying to move them and then nothing gets done? If you don't get that I don't really know what to tell you. He owes the media nothing, if they don't get that he's not showing his cards than they are complete morons. Face value? The day before the draft? Okay

Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?

Exactly -
I don't care for Lamb and OKC didn't draft him, although they surely scouted him. I'd rather have Perry Jones along with Reggie Jackson but that's still not enough

Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?
magicblue replied to Jagsfreak27's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Yeah, but LA needs a starting SG. They'll be back -
That's an interesting point, although that's a giant leap up the draft board for Reggie Jackson. We'd need quite a bit more than just him.
-
Most quotable moment from the press conference was Hennigan's response to his thought's on the 51st pick. "We're just looking for a human being to take"...lol!
-
It would purely be speculative unless you actually believe beat writers or "sources close to the team". Journalism be damned!
-
Most would probably consider anything involving the #2 pick as "bigger than the Bledsoe deal"
-
No one said its definitely happening. What we said essentially is that you shouldn't believe everything you read/hear right now, regardless of whether it's the GM of a team or a beat writer. Let me ask you this, what would Hennigan gain by saying, "yes we've been in ongoing discussions with the Clippers"? Its a rhetorical question, the answer is absolutely nothing.
-
Nope. Not sure what when they last spoke has to do with anything. The last thing they said may have been, "we'll pick this back up on draft day, we're focusing on a coach" for all we know. Regardless, Hennigan would never say they've been in discussions either way

We'll see... -
Wow! Great deal for New Orleans... kidding of course
-
Means nothing. Hennigan plays everything extremely close to the vest. What's he gonna say, "we've been talking to LA daily and trying our best to work out a deal"?
