The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds
magicblue replied to Live or Die Magic's topic in The Thread Hall of Fame
Four team deal huh? I have a hard time believiing this could possibly go through. Why would two other teams be willing to help BK out like this? Good news is trades like this almost never work out, especially when the particulars are already being reported. -

Or those players may realize that if you whine and cry like a baby, throw our franchise under the bus while also holding us hostage, and then hide behind your agent and "handlers" your probably not going to get what your asking for...especially when it makes no sense and is not in the best interest of our organization. -

Rather have Dwight playing out West on an aging team than in the East on another fukin super team. -

Unfortunately we have no one to blame but Otis Smith and our ownership for allowing Otis to keep his job as long as he did. It's not the Lakers, or any big market team's fault, that our management has been completely inept and got us into this hot mess. It's very disappointing, but we're Magic fans and lets face it, we're used to it by now -

Horrible, it gets progressively worse with each name mentioned -
I like the idea if signing this guy to back up Jameer and possibly take over in a couple years. Hope Hennigan is seriously considering this move.

What, what? You woke me up

Don't mean to be dick, but I've asked this question five times now with no response. Is Jameer's 3rd year a team or player option? Or do we just not know? I'll accept misinformation or guesses...just looking for some kind of response. Thanks in advance -

Don' t forget potentially adding all of NJ's trash -
It's not really funny, but you're right about everything else.

I can't speak for everyone, but I usually wake up and have breakfast around noon, lunch is between 6-6:30, and the wife usually serves dinner around 1:00am.

I think he was more concerned with the salary comparison. I'll ask again, is the 3rd year of Jameer's deal a player or team option? Makes a huge difference imo -
Only relative to Duhon starting I suppose. Doesnt quite overshadow Nash to LA does it?
-
Truefan posted this morning that he had inside knowledge of a move that was going to go down this afternoon, possibly by lunchtime, that involved the Magic and would overshadow the Nash to LA trade. Then he took some credit for the Jameer signing, which he never really mentioned but conveniently for him happened shortly after. He's been rumored to be Curran, a long time troll, so he's been getting bashed most of the day by non-believers. That's about it
-
If it makes you feel any better, Dwight probably won't be here so that's a pretty significant change to the roster
-
It was too subtle for me. My bad. ^Guess I'm not the only one.
-
We're talking about the Toronto Raptors here....
-
So it's the opposite of lottery protected, or lottery protected in Houston's favor. Since its coming from Toronto, I'd expect Houston will be able to cash it in next year
-
I read the exact opposite about 5 pages back. Early reports said it was lottery protected, but apparently it's not.
-
^Agree. this deal allows us to acquire some young talent (maybe two or three of Lamb/White/Jones/Parsons) along with Martin, dump a contract to give us some cap flexibility, and pick up an additional lottery pick and maybe another 1st rounder from Houston. Then with cap space go after Ibaka/Harden next summer. I like it, much better than the Nets deal IMO.

Team or player option on Jameer's 3rd year?
