  1. PED's don't prevent injuries, they simply promote recovery. Taking PED's wouldn't prevent, for instance a hyperextension, Labrum tear, ankle sprain, torn ligaments, etc.

I didn't see JV's press conference tonight but I've seen enough of them to know he is always Mr. Positive and hasn't shown any tendency to be frustrated with this team after laying an egg like we did tonight. Although I appreciate his nurturing nature, especially with such a young group overall, sometimes you need to put guys on notice that play like this isn't going to cut it in the NBA. I hope he at least acknowledged that we were terrible and have a lot to work on...the rainbows and lollipops routine is beginning to wear on me a little.

I think he can for stints and it appears that Harris can handle the 4, so Harkless can still log most his minutes at SF. Harris should actually be starting over Nicholson at PF IMO.
  4. Great question. He was playing behind some fairly established guys (albeit marginally talented) with large contracts so that may have something to do with it.

I'm tired of complaining about Afflalo, but good advice

Harris is a keeper. Total baller. Where did this guy come from? (not literally)

Davis is better than Nicholson, especially on the defensive end where its not even close

Harris needs to beat Nicholson out first, but yeah...its possible

Mine too. I wish we'd go back to those and keep them moving forward

Yeah, I acknowledge I was mistaken (I was kind a joking with the in shoes part as I know McGee is legit 7'). Thanks though...always good to get an Emerald reference in 2013 for point of emphasis

We hardly ever played a Dwight/Gortat/Lewis lineup...thought we should have more actually. I hear what you're saying though and I agree. It's always nice to have the flexibility to play power or finesse as needed and even better when you can actually dictate the matchups

He was about 65% floor spreader and 35% playmaker

Strong. He's listed at 6'10". Doesn't change the larger point of my post, but okay...maybe in shoes :)

I get what you're saying and I don't disagree but here's the thing. OKC is very unique in their ability to go big/small....their versatility is second to none (although Ibaka isn't 6'11"...he's 6'9" on a good day...albeit athletic as ----). True, Miami can go big or small, but they mainly go small and stay small out of necessity. I'd personally rather acquire an athletic PF than try to play Vuc at the four spot. We'll still have the flexibility your asking for with Harris at PF if need be, so that's a plus. Just think Vuc is too slow for most of todays PF's. Now if you think Noel is the answer, that's a horse of a different color and a fairly strong argument could be made for a defensive player like him.

    Scouting Marcus Smart: Update 03/10/2013

Yeah I don't see that happening with the options out there at SG and the fact he's undersized at the 2 spot and his weakness is shooting. I think Smart is ours at any position down to about 3 or 4

Official Game Thread: Cavaliers @. Magic

That's an option, but not my preference only because the league is getting smaller and quicker and having Vuc and a Perkins type on the floor is just gonna slow us down. I like Young because he's all about defense and has great agility and decent speed for his size. He's Reggie Evans 2.0. Btw, and I know you were just giving examples, but Perkins and Chandler couldn't be more different aside from position played.

Vuc needs to spend all summer beefing up, working on his agility, and developing his low post game. Let's hope our trainer can beat the European out of him

Patric Young fits the bill. He's not a great shot blocker but he's got great size and is a very good defender.

Oh no, I agree Henny will and probably should. I'd just prefer the ping pong Gods be on our side next year rather than this year ;)

    Scouting Marcus Smart: Update 03/10/2013

Probably. I'd prefer taking him at number 3 or 4 than #1 though. Mainly because I think he'll be there and I don't want us to blow our load lucking into the first pick prematurely. No need banging out the ugly chick when the prom queen is giving you "do me" eyes.
