  1. Friends and Fellow Fans Like e, I am sure you have all been seeing the emergence of this kid Ersan İlyasova of the Bucks. I have never seen someone play with so much energy on defence and pull down Offensive Rebounds like him. He's the reason why the bucks are still semi-relevant and able to take teams down the line, albeit they still seem to lose more than they win thanks to Jennings' selfish play on offence. I really love this kid and he becomes a free agent at the end of this season. Heis shooting 40% from 3 point range this season, pull down more rebounds than Anderson and plays with a lot more energy. He is unrestricted while Anderson is restricted. I think we could pull off a trade with the Bucks whereby we send Anderson/J Rich for Ersan and Jackson to allow Redick to start. Alternatively, I hope we go for him in the offseason in case Anderson starts demanding All-Star Money to stay. I really have hope that we can still build a good team even if Howard leaves, as long as we get some good young pieces and a few picks as well. Am I the only one rooting for NJ to lose so in the off chance that Howard goes there, we have a better chance at getting Anthony Davis in the draft? That would be wicked as we would probably have the best young team in the NBA, especially if we can get a good young PG in the offseason as well. Please let me have your thoughts

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

You clearly missed the point. Talk about selective reading. He's saying "no one benefits more from playing with Howard than Ryan". That was my point. Are you and Don Ryan's sisters?

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Okay Otis, sorry Don I mean, cna you please enlighten us on the New CBA? I have a life you know so don't know the new CBA by heart. But if you do, please tellvme what other teams can offer Rhyan, and just because we have his Bird Rights doesnt mean we will offer a max contract, otherwise we would have already done that. I know enough to know that if Howard leaves, Ryan is a goner coz Orlando will not sign him on a big contract.

I take it you'd rather we sign Ryan to a max deal or start Big Baby next year? Which one do u prefer?

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Quote from Orlando Sentinel writer Josh Robbins today "Ryan Anderson has had a breakthrough season for Orlando, and he is the team's top asset besides Howard. But he is not a potential superstar. Indeed, of all the current Magic players, perhaps no one benefits more from Howard's presence than Anderson"

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Houston wants to get rid of Scola, and has money to spend. NJ if they don't get Howard will ship out Mr. Kardashian and probably will try to bring Ryan back. Ryan will demand the same contract David Lee got in GS. 60m/5 = 12m p.a. which is what many teams can and might offer. I don't think we have the cap space to do that. Ersan, given his lower avg's will probably demand 35-40m which is a lot more affordable for Orlando, plus allows us to go after a FA in 2012 or 2012, should Howard stay. If Howard leaves, then we might even sign 2 good players. Ryan's contract would not allow us to do that and we will probably get 1 good FA and we're back to square 1 again where we have 1 all-star and nothing else around him. To win, you need 2 top players at least. Ryan is not that player, and neither is Ersan, but they both give you the same (although I still argue Ersan is much better defensively) with Ersan probably demanding less money.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Thank You. What people don't understand is that sometimes, a team like Orlando has to take a chance on a guy like Ersan the same way we did with Hedo, who helped us go to the finals. Ryan is going to demand big money and will most probably leave, because there are some stupid GM's who will pay big dollar for him and trust me, Orlando will not match a 60-70m contract for Ryan. So unless you want Big Baby to start next year, we can either trade Ryan now along with one of our big contracts (Jrich, Duhon, Turk) and try to get Ersan and Jackson now. As an alternative, I was trying to say that should Ryan demand too much, we should let him go and sign Ersan instead. Now the latter means that we would have lost an opportunity to get something in return for Ryan or at least get rid of one of our bad contracts to help give us flexibility next year and mauybe sign a free agent to appease Howard (Nash for e.g.). I mean Orlando needs to decide if they are willing to pay Rhyno top dollar. If they don't, better to trade him now. I know Ersan is a FA, but he will cost less and getting him now might allow us to get rid of a bad contract. I don't even want to comment about DON, I think many of you have said what needed to be said. I hope he changes his tone because sometimes, he makes a good point but how he makes it defeats the point. You have good basketball knowledge, but none of us are GM;s here. We are just thinking out loud. I mean the top basketball people in Orlando are proof that even they make some big mistakes (dont get me started on our draft picks and Arenas etc.).

It's ok to have your opinion, but respecting other people's views and opinions without being rude is a skill you clearly do not possess.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

dude, why you're so angry. I appreciate your opinion and all, but you make your points in such a mean way, trying to make ppl look stupid. If i was suggesting trading Kwame Brown for Anderson, I might accept some of your comments but you're making it sound like Ersan is sooooo much worse. Anyways, who cares, it's not like we're decision-makers here, so maybe you just need to chill a bit. This is just fun talk about some possible options should Anderson ask for too much.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Thank you, for a minute there, I thought the Magic Fans really didn't know much about basketball, but guess some of you know a good player when they see one.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

lets agree to disagree. In 5 years time, Ryan will be shooting 3's in Sacramento, while Ersan will probably be playing for the Lakers or Bulls winning chamionships.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

I think playing with Howard gets u moe Offensive Rebounds because usually the opposing PF tries to help their center block out Dwight which gives Ryan the OR opportunities he gets every game. Look guys, I am not saying Ryan is crap, i love the guy. I just think we probably would pull off a steal if we can offload him for Ersan along with a good player and manage to get rid of one of our bad contracts, because they are very similar offensively, although Ersan is slightly better overall I think and defensively, Ryan gets killed by avg PF's such as Josh Smith and Boozer which I think Ersan would defend a lot better. PF defence has been our achilies for a while and we've always had to trade-pff between putting on Ryan who is better than Baby offensively, or Baby who is better defensively but much worse offensively. Ersan I think has a better overall game and therefore is a better 2 for 1 option.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Ryan shoots 12 shots per game, Ersan only 9. So his average is lower, although in the last few games, his avg is close to 20 ppg. Ersan doesnt have Dwight, so he doesnt get open looks from 3 point range. His current center is Drew Gooden, who even if guarded by Muggsy Bogues would probably still miss a 15 footer. Plus Ersan has more rebounds, blocks, steals and assists than Ryan despite playing 4 less minutes a game. I think because he plays for the Bucks, his value is lower and Ryan's value is higher because Orlando has the 3rd best record in the East at the moment. This presents an opportunity I think to get him on the cheap. Remember the contratc we gave Turk when we took him from the Spurs. But should they both deamand the same top dollar money, I would go for Ersan, that's what I am trying to say. I am just convinced that this guy would be much better for Orlando than Ryan is at the moment, giving his hustle and energy. Plus the dude shoots lights out and killed us when we played the Bucks in the last 3 games. I remeber him going up against 4 Orlando players (Dwight, Baby, Turk and J Rich) for am offensive rebound and wrestled the ball off all these 4 players and scored.

    Ersan İlyasova to Magic??????

Ryan is a great player but he will demand top dollar this off-season, just watch. Plus Ersan shoots the 3 and has a good mid-range jumper, something Anderson doesnt have. Anderson is 2 dimensional, i.e. either shoots the 3 or lay-ups after Offensive Rebounds. Ersan is a better defender and can shoot the 3, is a better offensive rebounder and rebounder in general, shoots the mid-range jumper extremely well plus will cost a lot less to sign. I would love to trade Baby for Ersan but realistically, what can we really get in return for Baby? The Bucks won't give Ersan up for him.

    Playing Our Draft Picks

Am I the only one who feels that the Magic are the worst at playing our draft picks? Everyone keeps saying we have no players with trade value to make a deal with other teams. Guess what, it's because all our young players rot on the bench and don't get an opportunity to develop and showcase their talents to the other teams. Yesterday was a very good example. Instead of playing Liggins to guard Durant, who was killing us, we put Earl Clark on who gives you great effort but is just a horrible b-ball player, especially on offence. There are stretches in games where you can play your rookies who will sometimes bring an element of surprise. Look at all the other teams, even the top ones (Miami, Chicago, Boston) - they all play their rookies and within a few months, these players now have trade value which will allow these teams to get involved in trades. Either Stan is stubborn or we're just horrible at drafting good players. I mean we gave up our 2nd round pick in what is being billed as the deepest draft in years to Cleveland for Harper, and the guy's been playing garbage minutes and still has not even completed 48 minutes in half a season. I have never seen Orton play so cant judge, but Harper and Liggins seem to be servicable and will probably do well if given a stretch of games. I remember Ryan only played when Rashard was out after being banned for 10 games. Had Rashard not been banned the start of that season, we probably would not have seen how good he could be. Just wanted to see if you guys agreed...
  17. I just had a look at the standings and was surprised to see us 5th despite having more wins and less losses and being 5 1/2 games behind Miami. Indiana and Philly have worse records, yet they are ahead of us? How can that be? Is iit because they are division leaders? What if Orlando was 26-7? ARe you telling me Philly would still have a higher seed in the playoffs? Thanks for your answers in advance

    Point Guard Trades

Hi Magic Fans, this is my first post in like 3 years. Good to be back I think we all are witnessing the decline of what was a very good Point Guard in Jameer Nelson. Personally, I used to love Jameer and always worry when we have the back-up PG run the point. However, strangely enough, during the SA loss on Wednesday, I actually for the first time wanted Duhon or Larry to play in OT becuase Jameer was just awful. I think this was the first game without Turk this year and it shows you how bad Jameer is playing when Turk is not helping him run the plays. Jameer has one of the worst Assist Averages in the League for a PG who has been starting for the last 7 years. So the question is, what PG's are available that we can get for Jameer and a second round pick or one of our usless bench players (Orton for e.g.)? Here's amy Top 10 (but in no particular order), please comment based on how realistic this could be and also whether this would actually improve the team. 1- Mo Williams (LAC have 2 great PG's, I am sure they will not stand in his way to play starter minutes in ORL, won't take much to prize him away, probably Jrich only as LAC are in need of a decent SG) 2- JJ Barea (Signed for the Money but with RUbio blossoming, I doubt Barea will stick around for too long - I think Meer and Von will probably do the trick) 3- Raymond Felton (Portland like him and rightly so, but will probably give him up for a 1st round pick - Do we really wanna do that though?) 4- Andre Miller (that could be a good trade, although I don't know if Andre can still play starter minutes. However, at least this trade won't cost us much) 5- Steve Nash (it's being reported around the net but somehow can imagine Steve in ORL. Would also cost too much to prize him away as many other teams will offer Phx better pieces) 6- Jarret Jack (Love this guy, plays hard, penetrates and has a good Assist average at 7.5 - Problem is he's starting for NO so would take a lot to get him. He's a guy I think who can propell us to the next stage) 7- Darren Collisson/George Hill (Indiana has the best PG combo in the Leage I think and their record shows that. However, what would it take to get one of these 2 great PG's to come to Orlando - Unfortunately, we will probably have to give up JJ or Rhino which I dont think we should do. But maybe Otis can surprise us and pull it off with Von, Orton, Harper and a 1st Round Pick. 8- Tyreke Evans (Although I am not fully sold on this guy, he penetrates well but his shooting and passing is similar to Jameer. A volume shooter who averages 4.5 APG. However, he's young and will add Energy to the team. But again, although SAC suck, they probably won't give him up. 9- Calderon (Wicked APG, but somehow I am not sold on him. But he could be available since the Raptors will probably rip this team apart once again, as their rebuilding plan is not working. Will probably take Meer, Orton, Clark and Von) 10- Brandon Jennings (MLW are a good team but if Brandon wants out, it will be difficult to convince him to stay as they are going nowhere. This would require Brandon to demand a trade but I think we probably can pull it off with a 1st pick, Orton, Liggins, Harper and Clark. It will destroy our bench I know but lets face it, none of these 4 players is playing anything but garbage minutes at the moment and we can easily replace them with so many vets currently clearing wavers Hope you guys can give me your scoop.

    Point Guard Trades

Orton can't even get garbage minutes, so he's clearly doing something wrong. Then again, Stan has a knack of keeping rookies or new joiners on the bench for a season before introducing them to the team. I don't know why he does that but looking at how it has worked for Rhino,Bass and Reddick, maybe the guy knows what he's doing. In my view, if Otis is looking to make some trades to satisfy Howard and bring in another star, Stan needs to start playing the bench a bit more to show off some of the talent. Von Wafer for e.g had zero trade value in Dec, now I am sure we can easily get a good utility player for him. If Stan starts playing Orton and Harper and Liggins a bit more, I am sure we'll be able to package them for a point guard or as throw-ins to get a star.
