    The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Man I really hope it does happen. Take the deal and run!

The Nets are foolish if they trade for an aging (31yo) Joe Johnson on a disastrous contract... especially if they still want Dwight. They also extended Gerald Wallace to 4 years, $40mil... SMH.

Yeah Ken Berger is one of the few sports writers I follow on twitter. He knows his stuff. Who knows at this point what's truly going on. As for Dwight & the Magic, hopefully everything will work out in the end for both parties (whether that means Orlando trades or doesn't trade Dwight remains to be seen). We're just going to have to wait and see, and hope for the best. Let's see if anything gets released to the media/press from Dwight or Orlando's end. It's getting late. Get at you guys tomorrow, night. Go Magic.

Pretty good "bring everything up to speed" article by Ken Berger, posted about a half hour ago. Dwightmare: Latest episode of Howard shenanigans reach new levels of absurdity http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/19455784/dwightmare-returns-latest-episode-of-howard-shenanigans-reach-new-levels-of-absurdity Sad that this is happening all over again, and on the first day of Free Agency with a new GM nonetheless.

Yeah it doesn't look good... too much has happened up to this point... and Broussard might have said it perfectly on Sportscenter... the "Marriage looks to be broken". ...and I don't like Broussard, so that makes it even worse hearing that come from him.

Wow... he's a talented Center and all... an All-Star last year (mostly due to the system and having very good slashing wing players spreading the floor)... he showed a lot of improvement in the low-block back to the basket game... but a Max deal? Even Marc Gasol and Tyson Chandler are shaking their heads at that.

And I wouldn't blame RDV if that was the case, after everything that went down last season. But in a perfect world both parties should put aside their differences (or grudges) and come together to work out a deal... but it's not a perfect world, and that's not going to happen it seems unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong though.

I actually think Rudy or Iggy wouldn't be bad pieces to have in return if Dwight is being traded away. I wouldn't mind. But you are correct about one thing... if I had it my way I would rebuild through the draft the way Memphis and Oklahoma City have done. Try to trade Dwight for rebuilding assets and picks. Also I think it's better to have a losing record than a mediocre .500 record if (or when) Dwight is gone. Being a 9th to 7th place team in the East isn't going to do us any favors down the line when it comes to draft picks and rebuilding. I'm not a big fan of tanking, but I'm not opposed to it either. I would like to have multiple top 5 or 10 picks in order to rebuild over the next few seasons. This is hopefully where Hennigan's strengths (scouting/drafting) comes in handy for us.

Very true (about young players in general getting caught up in the NBA lifestyle). A lot of players have egos though unfortunately. No excuse for Dwight imo. I think Dwight should man up and quit being so passive & "back and forth" about the issue. He should make a decision and live with it. I know it's his life and this is a big decision, but he's had a few years to figure this out ahead of time. His indecisiveness is getting drawn out and unbearable at this point. It's hurting the organization, his teammates/coaches, and the organization's fans. YBR is right... Dwight should make (come out with) a statement if he can. This is getting a bit ridiculous.

What do you think about the Nets trying to go after Joe Johnson? [http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/19454611/report-atlanta-hawks-brooklyn-nets-talking-joe-johnson-trade] I just hope they aren't trying to pawn/flip him to us for Dwight (I'm not saying that's what they are trying to do, but you never know). As for 3rd or 4th team trade partners, I wouldn't mind Memphis or Philly getting involved, with Iggy and/or Rudy in the trade mix.

Man, tonight has been a complete downer with this news coming out. :-/ Do you guys think any other team could be at play for Dwight beside Houston and Brooklyn? ... If he really wants to go to Brooklyn, I would hope we would get a 3rd or 4th team involved. Brooklyn has zero players we want, and I'm not too thrilled about Houston's trade package tbh. Edit* I mean, I hope & pray that all this news stuff is false (aka Broussard being "Broussard")... but it's looking kind of grim at this point.
