@KBergCBS Lakers assured Bynum's camp, "Nothing's happening" on the trade front, a person close to the All-Star center said. Smokescreen? Or this LAL/HOU deal is dying if not dead and we're going to be accommodating Dwight's trade request to Brooklyn? -

Easiest way to completely STOP Dwight from going to Brooklyn is for any team to just have Brook Lopez sign their offer sheet. Dwight to Brooklyn and Jarrod Rudolph's "Dwight to Brooklyn 90%" will all be DEAD. :happypuppy: -

So recap of news starting from 2 am..... Adrian Wojnarowski: Nets president Billy King and Brook Lopez are finalizing the contract – four years for $58 million, or five years for $78 million. Chris Sheridan: Sources say Dwight gets traded today. Ric Bucher: Story on Nets to "resolve" Dwight Howard bid by end of day. Ken Berger: While Magic explore options for Dwight, Nets need 'closure today.' Chad Ford: Nets fearful of an offer sheet for Lopez from another team if they don't act by end of day. Offer sheet would kill sign-and-trade anyway. Lopez's agent pushing Nets to either sign Lopez for themselves or do a sign-and-trade by end of the day. -

Only Rob Hennigan can answer that question. -

So if you say we can't even correctly draft in the 5 - 10's, then, it baffles me why RH would want even worser picks in the 26 - 30 range if we go the Brooklyn route. -

Looking at Houston Rockets forum, they have a poll on who they rather have, Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=223036 Over 600 + votes so far. = 61% want Bynum = 39% want Dwight Everyone except Brooklyn really doesn't like Dwight, the new LeBron "Decison". -

Imagine if we took Billy King's (Nets) deal we'd be stuck playing Luke Walton, Shelden Williams, and Damion Jones - and I've never even heard of this guy. And we'd be stuck with a $78 million 5-yr contract for Brook Lopez. -

Another thing I found interesting was that the Lakers traded their first round picks for Steve Nash. I mean he's a good player, but they sacrificed their future for only 1-2 year window. I know Dwight going to LA will make them great, but only for the short term. When both Nash and Kobe's legs fall off in 2 years, the Lakers will be back to being "just good". And Dwight may not even be there. Lakers are really gambling all or nothing. -

Reading other teams forums across the board. When the news broke about the 4/5-team Brooklyn, Orlando, Cleveland, Clippers/Bobcats deal was announced: - Cavs fans liked it (Win) - Clippers fans liked it (Win) - Charlotte fans were not sure of it (Draw) - Brooklyn fans LOVE it so much that they wanted to take the trade in bed and sleep with it (Mega Jackpot Super Lotto Win) - Magic fans overwhelmingly hated it (Lose aka Raped) ************ When the recent news about the 3-team Houston, Orlando, Lakers deal was announced: - Magic fans liked it (Win) - Lakers fans liked it (Win) - Rockets fans loved it (Win) ************ So in essence, this should be a no brainer, so Henny shouldn't even bother pursuing the Brooklyn deal no longer. -

Ebanks says he will resign with LA for $1.5 million. If Lakers will trade him, they would have to do it in the next 24-48 hours as a sign and trade. -

I believe the thing is Houston is afraid of Dwight's non-commital to resign, but they so badly want a big man, so they want to go after the next best center instead. Lakers on the other hand has no issue if Dwight doesn't committ. -

More Brooklyn reporters... @TommyDeeTKB Source tells me that the Magic aren't seeing much to make them make a deal with Houston and LA at this point. talks stalled. @TommyDeeTKB The Magic don't HAVE to do anything. not if it doesn't make sense and Howard isn't forcing out. Lol, they really want their garbage trade to happen. -

From a Nets reporter: @NYDNInterNets/ Waiting for Clippers to jump at chance to block Dwight from landing w/ Lakers, even if it meant giving up pick in 3-way deal to resurrect trade with Brooklyn :panicworker: -

It's a gamble with the odds favoring us highly (if we make the trade). The Raptors have to suck really really really bad, and be the top 2 worst team next season, AND, they would also need the ping pong balls to align with the moon and the sun and the planet Jupiter to be called out in the first 3 spots. If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet on that, no way. -

Say the Toronto Pick that Houston has which is a Top 3 pick, that means: If the pick ends up #1 - #3 it will revert back to Toronto. If the picke ends up #4 or more, we keep the pick. -

I just want to see Dwight NOT traded to Brooklyn so I can harrass Jarrod Rudolph's twitter for all his "90% Dwight will be in Brooklyn" tweets he's been spewing all week. :happypuppy:
