  1. Simply just winning games this early isn't enough. Otis has to make a move to drastically improve the roster to compete with the other elites. The Kobe 2007 example in this forum is premature, because Kobe didn't backaway from retracting his trade demand even when the Lakers were basically winning in Nov, Dec, Jan. In fact they were #3 or #4 seed in the West still with Kwame Brown on their roster. But that didn't stop the Lakers from upgrading the roster and trading for all-star Pau Gasol in Feb. That was the only time when all talk of Kobe wanting to be traded stopped and Lakers ended up being #1 seed afterwards. Otis can't rely on just standing pat because we've won 3 games against sub-par teams and think that we'll still be a Top 5 team in the East. For Dwight to stay, Otis must bring in another star that will help get us back to #1 or #2, and not just settle being a Top 5 team in the East by March.
  2. Otis needs to bring in some pieces, GOOD pieces for Dwight to want to continue to stay here. If we stand pat, we're not as readily built as the other elite teams in the league, and Dwight won't be standing pat either. If it comes to we have to trade him, I really really hope we can get Andrew Bynum over any other center. Anyone saw his first game back? He was a MONSTER and the reason why the Lakers won today.
  3. Yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=ApgNjpOnhTJLzXGfU6eJWca8vLYF?slug=aw-wojnarowski_tracy_mcgrady_dwight_howard_nba_122811 Lol, coming from the same guy who asked to be traded because we didn't want to draft Emeka Okafor.
  4. And here are some articles I dugged up: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1824663 Here's another article: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2004-06-04/sports/0406040305_1_dwight-howard-tracy-mcgrady-magic Lol, at Dwight saying that he's a mix between Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan. But McGrady back then wanted nothing to do with Dwight, nothing.

Turn the page - trade Howard

Not real news, but blah nonetheless. http://twitter.com/#!/JoshuaBRobbins/status/152432379460456448 From the New Jersey Star Ledger: http://www.nj.com/sports
  6. That is exactly how I remembered it as well. T-Mac really wanted Orlando to trade the 1st pick for real help now. Either that or at least get a more proven big guy in the draft and that was Emeka Okafor at that time. It got so ridiculous that Dwight Howard's camp was confident they were going to be drafted #1 that they even had open communications with McGrady's agent to convince T-Mac to stay in Orlando.

Turn the page - trade Howard

Wow if we can pull something like that off. Orlando >>>> Cleveland in free agent destinations. High Draft picks + 2 superstars would be a wet dream even David Stern's Hornets would be jealous of.
  8. So much mileage for a guy who runs a lot now in his 30's. At least he's playing better than say Lamar Odom at Dallas who have similar point forward games and age.
  9. Unless we get a hot start and go 10-1 or something, we may just lose D12. Posted this on the Dwight thread, but I saw this posted on realgm. The Nets trading for Okur sets them up to have cap space of $29 mil enough to sign 2 all-stars. Quote: Nets have a master plan to land Dwight either via trade or wait for free agency: Scenario #A They can still trade Okur + Lopez for Dwight + Hedo's contract; and while Lopez is healing, the Nets will still be decent and won't be losing as many ball games. Scenario #B If the Magic does not trade Dwight this season, they risk losing him in Free Agency, since the Nets with all their expiring contracts can sign Dwight to play with Deron... PLUS (here's the kicker), with $29 million in cap room, that's enough for 2 max contracts aka the Nets can sign one other star player... so basically they can potentially have Dwight + Deron + 1 other star player for next year. /quote It looks like Otis will trade him before scenario 2 happens, and Dwight leaves like Lebron and Bosh and we get nothing
