There's a better chance I get a BJ from Beyonce than us getting Lamarcus Aldridge.

Whoever does the local ESPN radio for Orlando, Nick G or something, mentioned it and then one of the New York Jets ex players RT'ed an account named Sports Whispers saying Orlando is in talks with the Nuggets. It could be absolutely nothing considering I know nothing about the Sports Whispers or the Nick guy but it popped up.

I wouldn't say he doesn't play ANY defense. He's terrible at protecting the rim but he's not terrible on ball. He has the quick twitch to be a good defender and already had the motor. With Skiles as a coach I can see him becoming a really solid defender. He's a good rebounder and will create extra possesions, we could do a whole lot worse than Faried.
-
He played in Florida but he lived in Michigan when he moved to the states I believe and went to high school there. His dad played for the Bucks so I can't imagine him having ties too strong to the Magic
-
I'd personally be happy with Faried but I know a lot of people on here feel that he is completely overrated.
-
I agree but at the same time, what is he supposed to do? We can throw as much money as we want at a FA but if he doesn't want to come here there's nothing you can do about it. I can pretty much guarantee there is going to be a trade now that we didn't land Millsap. I know he's not a popular player on this board but I think Faried is going to be in a Magic uniform within the next week. Magic wanted Millsap bad but they've been in contact for Faried and I can't see where else they'd go unless Rockets want to trade Terrence Jones.

This actually doesn't make a whole lot of sense mathematically. If there's an 80% chance Harkless is back and a 40% chance that Nicholson is back. the chance of both being back can't be greater than 40%.
-
Spiltter was just traded to the Hawks...do they know they're about to lose Millsap?

I'm leaning more towards McLemore but only because he offers something I don't think Orlando has right now. I think the two prospects are extremely similar in terms of value but McLemore will give the Magic an element that they do not have. Would still love Oladipo but Orlando needs a floor spacer.
-
Won't complain with McLemore or Oladipo but I'd prefer McLemore because he'd offer the Magic a floor spacer, something they don't have right now. McLemore will fill J.J.'s shoes in that sense and has the ability to add much more to his game. Oladipo can shoot the ball but he doesn't have the shooting ability of McLemore. Oladipo will do wonders on the defense end though and his contributions off the court will surpass McLemore's by far.

The only players in this draft that I think have a chance to become "elite" are Noel and McLemore. Otto Porter is going to be a solid, consistent player in the NBA but I don't see him having a ceiling at the elite level. Oladipo is the same way, really solid player and someone every GM wants on their team but not "elite". McLemore has tools to become an elite player in the NBA, also has the potential to be a flop. Noel would be much safer if his knees weren't so weak and his body wasn't so frail. This is a weird draft.

REPORT: Orl Will Likely Choose Between Burke and McLemore
BlueAndWhite replied to Jagsfreak27's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
It's like when they say the NFL is a QB driven league. Without a good QB, your team is most likely not going anywhere. If you believe the NBA is a PG driven league, you're going to need a good PG to get somewhere. Whether it is or isn't a PG driven league is up for discussion. What he's saying is if you believe Burke is a good PG, you'd be dumb to pass on him IF you believe the NBA is a PG driven league especially considering the Magic's lack of talent at the PG position. -
I do not understand how anyone can see a comparison between Nelson and Burke besides their size.
-
I'm sure everyone else does it but I just call him Toby or Tobes.
-
Offensively, Vucevic makes more sense playing PF than Nerlens does. Nerlens is good for oops and rebounding on offense, that's about it. He doesn't have a shot or any game away from the basket. Vucevic has some game away from the basket and would still be able to rebound as a 4. Defensively positions don't mean anything, it's just matching up with other players.
-
I don't see why Noel would play the 4 and Vuc would play the 5. Vucevic would be a much better PF than Nerlens.

Young Players who may Explode in 13-14
BlueAndWhite replied to Ryan the Magic Fan's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Pretty sure Tobias isn't a rookie but I could be wrong. I think Harkless has a ridiculously high ceiling and Tobias can become a very good player in the NBA. Vucevic could be a 16 to 17 PPG guy if he develops some moves on the block. -
Offseason Thread Part VII: The Fall of The Lockout
BlueAndWhite replied to AddiFB's topic in The Thread Hall of Fame
If Orlando got to dump Hedo and Duhon's contract, I'd hope they'd have a decent amount of money in cap space. Not a ton but it'd be a reasonable amount right? I'm on the trade Dwight now train and end this fiasco. I just want to move on from Dwight Howard and start the rebuilding process. Get the cap spcace back to where it should be and start young. -

Wait wait wait a second here, Dwight thought there was a done deal for him to be traded to the Nets and was telling teammates? -

What did I miss? Why is everyone acting like Dwight is gone now? -

Yes but I had every reason to believe him. He's part of their marketing team and I saw no reason to not believe him. Making up some silly rumor just for fun isn't something he's done for. The Nets must have believed they had a real good shot of landing Dwight today. -

Well, looks like my cousin was wrong after all. Won't post another rumor by him again. My bad on that one. -

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know this, but who the hell is Petro? -

Yes, I worded my original post horribly. I shouldn't have said Dwight was going to be traded by today. I should have said that the Nets and Magic were close to agreeing upon a deal. I should't ever post anything as a guarantee because anything can happen.
