since I'm on the summer league subject, I'm certainly excited to see Derrick Walton Jr. and Patricio Garino play. Could potentially be one of our back up PG or 3rd string most likely.

Payton would be ok if he's surrounded by scorers. That's our problem. I like the Lin idea. Count me in! I agree that he brings some of what we're looking for- selfish, veteran, good locker room guy, shoots, and can play both guard positions. Hopefully we can make that happen.

I'd be willing to give him another year with some consistent minutes and see what he contributes. You have to get on the floor in order to learn. Playing vets to win meaningless games does not help the situation either. Hoping this year we just give our core young guys the bulk of the minute in an effort to develop them together and get some chemistry going. I'm ok winning 30 games as long as the right guys are getting the minutes and we are improving/developing guys.

There really is no change in the players that will be available in our end, I'm guessing. Just puts Boston even more in control of the Eastern conference for the foreseeable future. They're probably gonna trade some of those 1st round picks to get a big free agent like Hayward or Butler. That would be my guess.
