Can we avoid the Aussie's from here on out?  I feel like they get too much sun/radiation out that way and are a bunch of basket cases or they just end up as busts.

Andrew Bogut, Kyrie Irving (Although plays for Team USA), Ben Simmons, Dante Exum

Maybe Giddey will turn into something, waiting for him to go full Ben Simmons in three years and demand a trade

Someone has a personal vendetta against us?

Let's not tar the whole country with the brush of Ben Simmons. That'd be liked saying avoid Croatian guys because Mario Hezonja couldn't handle it and still won't admit that's on him. Avoid US born players because of countless crazies (Marbury, Brian Williams/Bison Dele, can't be bothered thinking of anymore right now).

Also, please .... we do not claim Kyrie and he does not want us either. Which is good.

Josh Giddey is a lovely kid, and along with Dante (who there is nothing wrong with personality wise - he's just not as good as we hoped), Patty and a bunch of others we are usually alright with who represents us.

Having said that, the G League path is still really making it hard to say who will thrive and who will not. No point saying Daniels will be ok because of last years guys. I'd be ok with it mid first round or later but yeah, don't want to leap either.

Correction …another UK guy we passed on …I remember Soul didn’t want Julius Randle and we passed on him I think for Hezonja who’s not even in the league anymore …as Dan Savage said the other day you can’t go wrong drafting a UK kid …in Cal’s system they are often undervalued …Booker, Herro and the guy you all are talking about in here, Maxey …correct if I’m wrong Soul but if my memory serves you said his arms were to short lol.

Which brings me to hint, hint Sharpe …whom Jonathan Givony said his ceiling was Anthony Edwards …he of 38 points today …and Sharpe’s floor is the good Terrance Ross …not bad company to be compared too.

We are turning the playoff thread into the draft thread lol …Happy Easter everyone !

Man, I will give you every other guy all days of the week but.. .not Randle lol

Markelle with 15 assists playing with this merry band of misfits is impressive, can’t wait to see what he and the normal starters can do when they get to play together

This is one of the biggest causes of excitement for me at the moment. If he can distribute as he has been to, as you said, misfits - better scorers should make for pretty good assist fodder. I want him to succeed almost as much as I want the team to get back on the right track in general.

Wish I could have watched, instead of being stuck in this office..

  4. Specific orders FTL! It sucks but this race to the bottom is way too close. At the all star break it looked like it was going to be an easy going ride but everyone is going in for the tank right now. We aren't doing anything that Houston and OKC aren't doing. I think OKC is even more egregious and Houston are easily just as young as we are. Pacers are falling fast, Pistons are like us in that they barely have enough future talent to scrape through the odd win.

Really can't wait for the next couple of weeks to be done really.

As much as I want us to get our guy I want OKC to just fail so hard. Everything about the franchise rubs me up the wrong way. Except Giddey. I still love that kid. He's coming back here in a few weeks to do some camps for locals, which is just a bit crazy for this little town of mine.

We have a lot of young guys, but sooner or later if the Magic continue down this path, some will get fed up with losing and will want to be traded  same as Gordon.

We aren't anywhere near there yet. And that was said about the old team as well before it was mishandled. We do have a couple of years before it becomes an issue but I am sure the guys on the roster understand what we need to break the mediocrity cycle. We won't want all of them by the end either, I just hope the FO we have now makes better choices about who to keep and continues to target a game changer.

The problem with Aaron as well was he sometimes thought he could be "the guy" but never had it in him to make the leap. Unfortunately, he wasn't the only one who thought a leap would come

    ". . .the blow-bys".  *smh*

I couldn't believe that this was happening in bunches. There was no excuse for it. I mean, what was the game plan to stop it?

The Magic have defended much better teams and ultimately won the games but couldn't do it against a bottom dweller like the Pistons. /scratching my head.

race to the bottom is tightening up

It's almost like the guys making the decisions don't even watch basketball. How did the Knicks G.M. and coach make these decisions? Did the G.M. even ask the coach? Did Thibs not watch film or even get to say no deal? NBA has some of the strangest signings and trades i've ever seen the last few years. I guess it was always like this, we just read more about it. I mean, everybody knew that Westbrook would not work in L.A. Fans knew it, talk show hosts, radio guys, reddit forums etc. It still happened!

If i was a Gm these days i think i would secretly be on every fan forum i could find. Not for all the correct moves to make, just for the feedback. Forum readers ask for ridiculous trades and drafts too, but i find one thing in common. The worst moves are almost always universally panned. Like i would just throw up a draft pick or trade idea and just let the forum debate it six ways till Sunday. If i'm on 4 or 5 forums and most hate the idea i'm definitley second guessing it at least.

Edit. Notice i didn't bash Evan. I'm over that era of the Magic, on to the new Era. This team was full of Role players and one dimensional types. It's astounding how mediocre our starters were but even worse was our depth. Since the day Dwight left we get absolute trash to fill out the bench. We don't use second round picks, we don't develop 10 day contract guys or take chances on young misfits from other teams. Even the Kings have tried harder in this area then the Magic, yes they have failed but C'mon!

Serious question for fans here. Who has been the most impactful free agent the Magic have signed since Rashard Lewis? I know we haven't signed any stars since Lewis but cheap guys count. Who?

I honestly feel like people on the outside of the Knicks bubble don't realise or believe how bad things are until they get in there and feel the fire for themselves. I imagine working for Dolan would be like constantly having your *ahem* manhood in a vice at his mercy. Working for them being a massive double edged sword. If you succeed in spite of the organisational toxicity, you'd be a hero. But if you fail... well, your value for anything in the future is tanked.. Leon Rose probably felt at the top of the world last year but may be going insane at this point.

Not going to say you're wrong either Babir, the Knicks would be rotten from the ground up especially.

I think at that point in time a lot of us were in the anybody but EP mode.

The time his free throw was blocked by his dreads really felt like a nadir for this franchise. I don't care if we are bottom of the standings this year, nothing was as depressing as that time.

Okay... can we talk about how toxic the Philly culture has to be? Ben Simmons is a little bit of a diva, obviously...but he wants nothing to do with a team that is consistently fighting for top 3 in the East. We got Fultz for cheap and even though he's been injured, I think its fair to say that he's been more productive for us than he ever was in Philly. Something has to be off in that culture for some players to just shut down who obviously have skill.

For all the talk of Elton Brand being this stand up guy, he has been the front office main man for a while now and I will never forget him promising to team up with prime Baron Davis, waiting for him to sign up with LAC and then burning them for the 76ers money... which he didn't exactly live up to either. I wonder how much of him and 76ers ownership are of that mentality to screw people.

And Morey can be a dick too, with his counterparts in other organisations anyway,  but this was a problem before then.
