I guarantee I will not give you an iota of credit if they win but I'm sure we will all be happy just the same

I don't know if we play Phoenix anymore off the top of my head, but if we lose a few and drop another to Phoenix it'd be hard to not at least feel sick to the stomach! But this years team does seem more firmly in the vicinity of mediocre with outliers on both ends rather than the recent history of teetering on just really bad and mostly outliers heavily weighing on blowout losses

What a bloody cliffhanger. While I've got no GOOD reason to believe we can make it 3 in a row and take out Charlotte... we have to beat them again SOMETIME... right? This was nice relief at the end. A win is a win for this team and we'll all take it! If Isaac was given just a few more shots the distribution would look pretty nice

On that projection of the name guys in the 1st round.... while I wouldn't tank for Gary Harris... I sure would love to luck into someone like him or how GSW and Utah sort of lucked into Klay and Mitchell respectively. If we play hard, just fall short of the playoff's and pick up a pretty good wing with a great shot in the teens... man I'd be satisfied.

Addition by subtraction at its finest. I'm glad he's finally realised he's not a no. 1 option now too.

I hated Booker during his rookie season when everyone was saying how good he was then... but god he is getting pretty efficient now. I'm finding it hard to fault him for his production. I really wanted Mario to work because of Booker's ascent. Wonder where we'd be if we had him instead.

So, is Gordon actually working through an injury orrrr...?

I know they said they're going to build this thing the right way and not the quick way but if they haven't figured out now that this situation is untenable... well...

We'll put it down to Stockholm Syndrome instead of being held captive, our patience is being tested to the nth degree by ownership.

I'm starting to feel this "omg we are rubbish" fever. Does Gordon actually look like he's trying out there? Should he sit out for a few weeks because of his back? Would it really be so bad if we spent a couple of games giving Jonathan Isaac 20 shots? Find out all this and more next time on "things that will never happen because Orlando Magic fans have forgotten what it's like to exist in an environment where management actually react to situations that are patently NOT WORKING!"

    2018-19 Official Season Discussion Thread

Aaaaaannnnd... one more? http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yb7dm99k I'd like to think this is mildly balanced for all involved although this could also end up working out horribly for at least one team. LAC could be a good spot for Vuc, Lamb could be a reasonably efficient extra scoring option and it wouldn't really damage their chemistry heading into the playoffs. Charlotte might find Evan to become an upgrade over Lamb assuming he breaks out of his slump and Evan might enjoy the change of scenery and playing with Tony Parker. Grant is filler. Gortat might be the most imposing player on that hypothetical charlotte roster? And for us... people have already suggested Teodosic could be a useful stopgap pg with the requisite skills to get our young guys and shooters good looks. Batum may be an albatross but he could be useful and versatile also paired with a more athletic frontcourt mate than Marvin Williams. He could be a secondary ball handler in most lineups. And we'd get to take a flier on Monk's potential and it'd be nice to have a real live recently drafted SG to learn from TRoss.

I think we are all screaming inside for something significantly different on this roster. A guy like him would be pretty good. But if he's worth having, wouldn't we have to give up more than he's worth right now?

    2018-19 Official Season Discussion Thread

Hi folks, I hate that the only two things i've posted about since finding my login again are New York players... but I know we are all obsessed here as a fanbase with finding the successor PG. A couple of years ago when Mudiay was on the Denver trade block he was young enough to improve but still playing horribly. I know I'm only looking at stats here... I haven't the means to see NYK games, but whilst looking at other players in box scores etc. it really strikes me that even though he's only averaging a hair under 3apg, the kid is actually scoring like the average nba player and finally keeping his turnovers down (positive A/TO Ratio, 1.9 TOpg isn' bad at all). If he keeps up the shooting, was he supposed to be the kind of athlete that could be high impact if he puts the game together mentally? Has he got upside? Anyone know? He seems so low in the food chain that he could be obtained cheaply, and keep improving under the radar well after he's been written off. Grasping at straws I'm sure...

I know! 2014 seems like aeons ago with the way things have changed. I checked on his stats a couple of times and saw no signs of life but all of a sudden he seems at least mildly competent, rebounding and shooting 3's like people thought. He may end up having an interesting prime! Clearly we still made the right pick with Aaron though!

Finally logged myself back in here for the first time in a couple of years, everytime I want to speak my mind on the Magic's facebook pages they're mostly insane (except for you, Mauro!)... But I looked at the Knicks box score to see if Mario was doing anything today... and it jumps out at me that Noah Vonleh seems to finally be showing some of what got people excited about him in 2014. Has he finally become underrated? He's still so young at 23!

    2017 Official Offseason Thread

Do you guys think if we make the playoffs once or twice but ultimately (and inevitably) find out that we have no game changing stars on this team as they enter their primes... that this management will be granted the ability to or would even want to scrap the whole thing and try for another draft star? My fears as a fan are the doldrums of mediocrity that Milwaukee puts up with (well maybe they don't, I don't know). We have spoiled fans, I know. Penny was one of the figures that turned me from a kid with no interest in sports to a basketball obsessive. So I guess I'm one of them. I can wait, but only if I'm waiting for something substantial. I was good with the hire of the new FO but what I've been hoping for all along is the tenure and longlasting nature of what the Spurs have as an organisation. Does anyone else wonder if the vibe of the guys we are hoping turns our beloved team around will stick around for the long haul? Whether the satisfaction of the playoffs would be job done or not? Milwaukee, Denver and Toronto have always had so little to be happy with, that their middling success in recent times seems like they're satisfied. I'd just hate our favourite team to be stuck in that rut for decades too. I'd stick around but the passion for it would greatly wane...

Sorry, not knocking the premise necessarily or that you agree with that premise. It's all valid until we can look at these things with hindsight later on. I just felt the article was poorly conceived and constructed in and of itself. Sometime I wonder why I go back to that site at all.

That's great and all, but who the eff is Luke Duffy and why should we listen to a guy writing on a semi-pro website when his writing is immediately terrible?

    Coaching Staff

Yeah I was getting hung up on the offense itself but I completely agree there. Shooting should be a premium push for this franchise with the amount of non-shooters we have playing minutes on the roster.

    Coaching Staff

Just wondering what you guys think. I've been in love with the game for years but still feel so detached from it that I don't know anything about assistant coaches. All I know is that a good, experienced staff can be a real difference maker. I know nothing about our four guys and/or if anyone has a particularly strong enough skill set to be a coordinator on one side of the ball or the other. I guess I'm also ignorant to whether this is necessary, but I do get the impression from the way some games have gone and the discussion on here that actual schemes aren't Vogel's strong suit. So, question: Do you think Hammond and Weltman force an offensive coordinator on Vogel this summer? Do you think they'd be at all impressed by his in game work last year? Would forcing something like this leave us without a respected coach again?

Oh I hope for something in that vein for Hezonja too. I think it's a matter of time. But with Payton I just can't get the hell over his hair impeding his shooting. That airballed free throw is just a d*** punch. It seems like a much easier, tangible path to resolution. I'm probably overly optimistic as well but god it's not like Mario's never had raw talent, we've all seen flashes of it. It's kind of annoying because its not like he's had a traumatic on court event like Nick Anderson did that killed his confidence. He's got to get through it eventually. Just hope it's not too far down the track. Surely stability helps.
