    2020-2021 Official Magic Season Thread

Unless he's updated it somewhere down the line, that article was actually dated 20/1 before all the trades. Suppose the point is a tad bit moot by now lol

    OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Magic @ Cavaliers - April 28th, 2021

Nah that doesn't matter. We need to draft our franchise player / next leader way more than a confidence builder.

Well it was nice being second bottom while it lasted.

    2021 NBA Draft Thread

As long as after this draft we actually have someone worth building around this time instead of saying f- it and hoping for the best!

Wow that looked like a close one. I would have liked to seen that. Stupid work.. Edit: 3 in a row for this almost finally healthy Wolves team. Good for them too.

    Chicago Bulls Draft Pick Watch

Yeah but if everyone at the bottom slides down because of a wild lottery win from someone higher up, would you rather still be top 4 or slide to 6-7? To me, that would blow pretty hard.

Ah it's not terrible news. I'd rather not give them a chance to keep their pick at all so let 'em win a couple here and there right? Overall pretty decent tank night

I guess if we didn't make the playoffs in the bubble last year they would have torn it down over the summer. Looks like they were asked to keep it together as long as it "sort of worked" I really hope the leash from ownership is longer this time

OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Magic vs Pelicans - April 22nd, 2021

No worries one way or the other, TMF. I just really am hoping (not betting, mind) that this time we actually do want to wait to build up until we actually get the guy who is going to lead the team for 10 years and not just force ill-equipped players into those roles. It'd be great to keep some good inexpensive guys like Gary Harris around the place but yeah I don't want them to keep promoting and upping the salary of like... the next Vuc. I like the guy but everyone in the league is dreaming if they think he is a franchise guy even after all this time.

I don't mean to be facetious, but it was 3 seasons. They got their guys, improved and here they are. Same thing just about happened with OKC post-drafting KD

OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Magic vs Pelicans - April 22nd, 2021

As long as it takes to find someone who is actually worth building around. Nothing else really matters. We kept trying to superglue bits and pieces to something that had no real core.

OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Magic vs Pelicans - April 22nd, 2021

well there is a massive talent disparity so it's not like it matters terribly. Seriously, NO needs this win so much more than we do, this is probably about as full strength as theyve been all year. Not sure how many games their entire starting five have played together. On the other hand, we're starting Mo today ... lol. Oh well. I hope they play hard anyway. Still excited about Chum and Cole.

    OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Magic @ Hawks - April 20th, 2021

It doesn't help they're usually efficient scorer's and none of them are having an explicitly bad night. Trae had a stinker against Milwaukee the other day so he's probably still pissed about that.

    OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Magic @ Hawks - April 20th, 2021

Maybe they went away from it because after the first few games where everyone went "wow he's really efficient" he seems to have been silenced but the first few games after his little streak had quite a few shots and not a lot of them sank.

    2020-2021 Official Magic Season Thread

Yeah I only mentioned it because of the dearth of seasons with us for anyone on the roster. And I know that the whingeing comment made was stupid whingeing too. I'm under no impression that any of the people on the roster presently are firm locks to be part of our *next great* team. I would ship off anyone in the pursuit of our next T-Mac, Dwight, Shaq, Penny.. Just pleasant surprises like what happened there happen for us in much much smaller amounts. I am also kicking myself in going back to finding that I was wrong about the recent past too. I had only expected Vuc to hit 40+ in the past 5 years but noticed I'd entirely forgotten that around 2017/2018 AG had multiple maybe even half a dozen (?) 40+ games before Vuc cemented himself as our common leading scorer. Makes me question everything outside of AG's baffling inconsistency. Is there still a guy in there capable of going off like that multiple times a year? And if not I can't understand why he's spent so many possessions in the last 3 years taking ill-advised shots.. was he just trying to get that mojo back ... oh whatever. Sorry folks.

Lu Dort, who apparently can barely shoot... 42 points. Only T-Ross has scored over 40 among our roster and that was years ago. It would be nice to have these sorts of occurrences amongst our guys ... past or present.

    OFFICIAL GAME THREAD - Spurs @ Magic - April 12th, 2021

There is very little point in nailing anything to the ground until we have our clear cut no.1 guy to build around... unless of course ownership and by extension management don't care about competing for a championship at any point in the future. If that is the case, we are doomed... and everything essentially becomes a whatever.
