  1. The NBA is going the way of the N-effing-L and I am one of many who are leaving.  I was a Bucs fan from day one, but stopped watching a few years ago when they displayed their hatred for America.  I was at a preseason game for the Magic in their first season and many games after that, never again.  They are painting filth on the floor and printing filth on their jerseys.  I will hope they totally collapse and end their insanity.

  2. Two more games coming, one tonight and one Saturday:

Fox Sports Florida will be re-airing the Magic’s defeats of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls early in the 1989-90 season. Orlando’s 108-103 defeat of the Magic Johnson-led Lakers on Dec. 10, 1989 will be shown by Fox Sports Florida tonight at 8 p.m. The Magic’s 110-109 defeat of the Michael Jordan-led Bulls on Dec. 20, 1989 will be shown on Saturday at 6 p.m. That game, one in which the Magic captured following a game-winning shot by Otis Smith to offset 52 points by Jordan, will be replayed Tuesday at 6 p.m.

you do realize this is only temporary and that a ton of first world countries are participating in wearing masks in public right? Are we infringing on the right to show your face? What rights are we giving up exactly?

That’s like saying that your inability to yell “fire” in a movie theatre is giving up your right free speech. When your speech immediately endangers others, it isn’t just a right anymore. That’s the end of story.

all You conspiracy nuts spreading fake news will need to be called out next month when the country starts to open up.

You do realize that tyranny is always temporary until the people no longer have a way to fight back?

  4. Big game tonight against Minnesota, I predict we will have one of our best offensive games of the season.  I am warming up the popcorn machine.

On a sadder note though, one of the regional airlines that is based in Minneapolis, Compass Airlines, has gone out of business.  My son and his wife both worked for them for several years so they are sad to see a lot of friends lose their jobs at a very bad time to go unemployed in the airline industry.  My son left there about 18 months ago for his current position in Greensboro.

Staying inside for so long has been brutal since we are naturally social creatures who connect verbally or through gestures.

The covid is like a whip of attrition.  This is most vulnerable I've ever seen the united states in my lifetime.  Everyone, specifically medical personal, looks defeated.  They themselves if course getting infected. This is the most I've sought out for news in a decade in a half.

Today I went out and nearly damn near everyone has a mask now. I havent been out for 2 weeks.  Reality has set in for many as everyone is sharing the experience of being associated with someone who succumbed.

A media detox is in order but boy, do I miss talking to people face to face normally.

    Stay safe friends.

I am an extremely introverted person (INFP) so I have been training for this my entire life.  I am doing OK, but I miss my family and worry about them so I will be glad when this ends.

  6. I am in Marion County and so far we have had only four total cases.  We do have a LOT of retirees here so this could get worse.  For my family we have gone isolation and will try to have all of our supplies delivered for the next couple of weeks.  Most of us are at risk, and those who have been doing the shopping put the others at risk.

My daughters and four of my grand kids are in Ormond Beach and there has been some exposure to people who tested positive so they are a bit nervous now.  I will be glad when this is over with and we start working on getting back to norbal.

With regards to toilet paper, a few reasons:

Some people started this trend thinking they may have to self isolate for long periods of time. They stock up selfishly for less trips to the grocery store and less exposure. Media covers it. Bandwagoners see what other people are doing and make the situation worse. We cant seem to keep up with the demand. People who missed out on the previous run now selfishly grab some for themselves thinking they may never get a chance like this in a few weeks. Rinse and repeat.

With regards to smoking, there has been a lot of different studies on it with various outcomes, some smaller studies showing no statistical difference in mortality between smokers and non-smokers.  One of the later studies, probably with the biggest amount of participants, showed smokers were 1.4 times more likely to have severe symptoms and approximately 2.4 times more likely to be admitted to an ICU, need mechanical ventilation or die compared to non-smokers. Considering this virus has been causing respiratory failure at an alarming rate, I would have to say that any limitation in lung function is likelier to have a bad outcome.

Thanks.  The game being shown tonight is our game against Philadelphia.  Einnis just drew a foul on Isaac.

  8. On a lighter note, Fox Sports is showing a Magic game from the end of last season, where we blow out Atlanta 149-113.  That is the game that evened our season at 40-40.  I will pretend I missed that game and watch it.

On the other topic, can someone explain to me the connection between an infectious respiratory disease and toilet paper?  I could see a panic for Kleenex, or paper towels, but toilet paper?

Are people who smoke more likely to have serious problems with respiratory diseases?

The next panic buy will be megaphones so we can stand farther apart to talk to people on the street or in stores.  Start stocking up on megaphones.
