Ah geez. I mean, I can understand messing around with the trade machine, but holy ****

    hahha

i'm with you bmp, i want iggy on our team, and that to me would solidify or team as a annual chip contender. i wish otis would go for him hard, this cp3 is very surreal. iggy on the other hand can be had with the right offer from otis i believe.

  2. stop it with this garbage, did you just forget the celts beat us just a few months back? one year is not going to move them all the way to 6th or whatever. until we beat them, they are better than us. ohh and by the way our CURRENT team is not the much better than our playoff team. infact i don't think were better at all, maybe a little worse.

    barnes > q rich

    duhon meh!

don't discount the celts. they're proven. we certainly thought they were old, but they outmuscled us and pushed the lakers to 7 games. we got taken out in 5 games to the rightful champs.

I'll revise my prediction to 30 wins, good for 10th in the East.

Between everyone else sleeping on them, and feeling like they have something to prove now that LeBron is out of the picture, I think they might end up fighting for a playoff spot down the stretch. MIGHT.

It would be interesting if they scratched their way in and played Miami in the first round.

It might actually happen. The east will have around 6 quality teams (Orlando, Miami, Bucks, Bulls, Celtics, Bobcats, Hawks) but after that it's pretty bad.

I think Cleveland will get around 40 wins and fight for the 8 seed.

Actually, this is EXACTLY how it'll all unfold in the East:

    1. Heat

    2. Magic

    3. Hawks

    4. Bucks

    5. Bulls

    6. Celtics (would rate them above Hawks/Bulls/Bucks in the playoffs, but that team will not do too well in the regular season)

    7. Bobcats

    8. Cavs

    9. Pacers

    10. Wizards

    11. 76ers

    12. New York

    13. Toronto

    14. New Jersey

    15. Detroit

Cavs, Pacers, and Wizards will be fighting for the 8 seed.

i hear ya. i want iggy pretty badly, but all we have is rumors. don't get your hopes up

One is a very good offensive player who can play off the block, but it kinda 'meh' on defense, while the other is a great defensive player who cant leave the low post and is kinda 'meh' on offense.

    How is that redundant?

    EXACTLY!

having to big guys will almost certainly force teams to throw up jumpshots rather than driving to the glass! they could even take a chapter from each other dwight can learn offense al and Al can learn to play better d from howard.

not good, i want him, and i'm sure a lot of other fans want him too!

do you really think otis has not thought about that before even talking with minny? i believe in otis. and i personally do think that adding AL can put us over the hill. howard needs help. one man rebounding and banging all the time is eventually going to wear him down in grueling times. and yes production will go down as well as their stats, BUT we will certainlly have a lot more W's in the win column.

  6. Wolves Want Jefferson-Dampier Trade?

    Posted: 7/10/2010 8:58:00 AM

Source: Marc Stein and Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com

Dallas Mavericks president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said Friday that he is still "actively" trying to make a trade score with Erick Dampier's lucrative non-guaranteed contract.

But Nelson, in an appearance on ESPN 103.3's "Galloway & Company" show, confirmed an ESPNDallas.com report from earlier Friday that there is suddenly a real possibility that the Mavericks will not use their vaunted Dampier trade chip.

Sources told ESPNDallas.com that the Minnesota Timberwolves have been urging Dallas to part with Dampier's contract -- and draft considerations -- in exchange for Al Jefferson, who has three years left on his contract at $42 million.

The raptors playoff bound? What happens with Turk? Is Odom heading North?

John Hollinger: Emphatic no on items 1 and 3. Regarding Turkoglu, it takes two to tango. We've heard inklings that Orlando might have some interest, but Toronto would have take back contracts that are just as toxic so I'm not sure they have the stomach for it.

funny thing is my best friend is a die hard laker fan and just told me that he read something like the lakers offered walton and sasha for hedo

    hmmm...

  8. i have a very vague idea of the financial aspects of contracts/caps/bae/tpe etc. .

that said, i was browsing utah boards and found this:

The Sheik wrote:Boozer is a base year compensation player. We would only need to take back 12 mil and change. Personally I do not want Pietrius and there is no significant salary relief. With Gortats contract we are likely paying Boozer money for a player(s) that is not on Boozer's level.

I would simply like a S&T to Chicago for Taj Gibson, maybe James Johnson as well.

Only 12mil? Have you seen our budget lately...

We're at 57mil out of a 68mil cap with only 8 players signed (including Hayward). That means we'll need 5 more players for 11mil, and any more we pay double for. By all best case scenario standards, assume we get Mathews cheap for 3 mil, no one offers Fesenko and we keep him at 1 mil, then we have 7mil left to take 12mil worth of contracts.... putting us 5 mil into the luxury tax. At what point did we give Brewer's 3mil$ away to cut back on the tax last season? Answer: To go from 5.5 mil over to 2.5 mil over. There's no way in hell we're being 5 mil over this season.

Meaning: There's no way we S&T Boozer unless our trade partner is under the cap or we package in 12mil more in contracts to take back 9.5 mil more (thus saving 2.5 mil on the additions, making the S&T putting us to that 2.5 mil over the tax mark Utah was comfortable paying last season).

does he know what he is talking about? or is he just another fan like me?
