  1. AA can play some at the 3. Oladipo could do like Davis did his first year with Ryan and Dwight, playing backup for both the 1 and 2. The question is if Lamb and Moore are good enough to take some of those minutes away from him. I can see a backcourt rotation of Nelson, Afflalo, and Oladipo with some time for Harkless (Hark probably starting at 3, so getting sparse minutes at the 2). I think that would allow for plenty of minutes for Oladipo. Davis seems like the guy that could get a good haul in a trade. If he gets back into form, he could get the Magic back some nice assets. Afflalo doesn't need to go quite yet, he'd be a good veteran mentor alongside Nelson with his work ethic (having those are still important). But if the right offer comes along, no doubt they take it.

I agree Oladipo is going to get his minutes somewhere either 1 or 2. I think if we don't either trade Baby or AA Harkless sadley may be the odd man out.

  2. Soul's Thoughts - Game 2:

    • Victor - Love his aggressiveness attacking the rim. We NEED that!!! (Yes, he forced some shots, but that'll improve).
    • Lamb - Ballin' baby
    • Nicholson - Much better today. Sped his game up and more aggressive.
    • Moe - Love his aggressiveness but his outside shot is still a work in progress
    • O'Quinn - Even though he's playing C, I think he should be our starting PF next to Vooch. Haslem 2.0
    • Osby - Back to earth. I think he's a SF.

Overall, the word for today is aggressive. Love it!!!

Agreed, Nicholson did look better today. Even though VO5 couldn't make a jumper at least he got to the lane. I don't think he's a point guard (yet). Overall it looks like Lamb and KO have made some real progress now I hope the coaching staff can.

  3. I'd have to agree, because as much potential as Harkless and Harris may have at the forward position, the chance to grab a (potentially) franchise changing star like Wiggins or Parker might be too good to miss, and that is why I feel that in the 2014 draft we won't target a PG in the first round unless we get an extra first round pick in a trade.

For me, I think we'll either end up taking Burke or Noel with our pick this year. Burke gives us the potential replacement for Jameer; though if we go for Noel, he gives us a dominant defensive presence on the court. I'm not sure which we'll go for, or for that matter, which I prefer. But both guys could be good fits with this team, though if we do go for the latter we do have options in trading for a PG or signing one in the 2014 free agency: John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, Ricky Rubio, or Norris Cole. Some are more realistic than others, but all of them could be options to replace Nelson with. Of the lot I think we could perhaps persuade the Clippers to trade Bledsoe for Nelson, because Bledsoe could be our answer at PG for the future, while Nelson could be an excellent impact player for them; and the same goes for the Heat, though I don't think they would have the cap space to take on a contract like Nelson's.

So while we could go for a PG in the 2014 draft, I think it is more likely we will go for one in this year's draft if we take the drafting route. If we don't, then I'd expect us to trade for one (perhaps Bledsoe or Cole), or go for one in free agency (Wall, Bledsoe if he gets that far, Rubio if he hits the market, or Cole). Any of them would do for me, but I'll back whatever decision Henny makes. If he goes for Noel this year and takes a PG next year, then so be it.

Good post except for the Norris Cole part. If we got him I would stick an ice pick in my ear.

  4. 'Let's move to Colorado because of great weather!' said no one ever.

They don't move there for the weather. Nice scenery and job opportunities are the reasons for that. Denver gets six months of 30 degree or lower temps. You can't compare that to FL.

I lived in Denver for six years and they have great weather. Because of the low humidity some days in winter it can be 45 deg and you can walk around in shorts. Where if it is 45 deg here you're freezing your rear off.

  5. Kobe's comments on the play that injured his ankle:

    http://www.nba.com/2013/news/03/13/kobe-bryant-ankle-injury.ap/index.html

The video attached does appears to show the leg of the Hawks player going under Kobe so maybe it should have been a foul, I don't know. But Kobe wants revenge?

They might be doomed is he misses more than a few games. While Utah is losing too much, Dallas appears to maybe be coming on strong. Really though, I bet hack a Howard will be in full gear the next game if Kobe is out.

Of course we get the typical total over reaction and the NBA saying this should have been called a foul. Kobe says Jones tried to Jalen Rose him the way i see it Kobe tried to Reggie Miller him with that right foot kick out trying to get a foul. I didn't here the NBA coming out after the Magic Heat game saying that BS foul on Battier wasn't a foul even though that was the worst call ever. Lakers Lakers Heat Heat give me a break.
