  1. Exums not anymore skinny than MCW, he's added loads of muscle since he last played. Also Exum has been playing PG his entire life, Smart has been playing PG for 2 years how will it take Exum any longer than Smart? I've never listened to Scott Anez but he sounds like he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about and he's trying to find any old argument to support his opinion.

If you haven't listened to Scott Anez consider yourself lucky.

  2. Agreed. Stand pat and let whomever fall in your lap. If that isn't Exum, and you can't swing a good deal for smart, I'd have no hesitation in going after Payton. He's my 3rd favorite PG and may even put him on the same level of Smart.

    Parker/Embiid & Smart/Payton draft and I'm going crazy.

    Payton/Oladipo/Harris/Embiid/Vucevic

That I like. Payton may be the sleeper of this draft.

  3. A Smart, Oladipo, Harris, Buc, Embiid line up, like you say, would bring a high level of defense that would have a similar feel to the Grizzlies' style of play. I think in Oladipo and Harris there is potential scoring there, and the other three starters should be efficient scorers. With AA, Nelson and Harkless off the bench, they should bring some fire power.

Granted I'd love to see the scoring power of OKC, Miami etc, but if we played tough defense like Memphis, and could get efficient offense, then that style of play can be decent to watch.

Plus we could always try to sign a scorer for SF in free agency, or some sharp shooters for the bench.

Magic end up with two top 7 picks and don't give up anything? Come on guys.

  4. There are a lot of great scenarios for the magic in this draft. I think the one that may fit best for our roster is Exum #3 and Capela #12. Sure there is a lot of uncertainty

with both being very young and raw but we're not going to be in the finals next year anyway. The upside for these two could be Penny and Ibaka in time.

  5. Um... There are still four games left. We are tied for third and all of out opponents are playoff teams. We just have to lose one more than Boston. Even then, we don't know where we'll fall in the draft or who will be available (remember Anthony Bennett was picked first last year). Somebody could always make a gamble pick before us. I don't get all the panic. Wait til draft day.

I'm afraid Boston will find a way to lose 5 out of those last 4.

  6. Embiid is declaring. That's excellent. Pushes more people our way.

As to our draft board, all the chatter is about us taking a PG or wing with our first pick. This leads me to believe there's a good chance we'll go Ennis or big with our second pick.

What about this Clint Capala with our second pick? I know he's a euro but from what I've seen he seems high energy/athletic.

  7. Note to coach and GM. The year is a waste... we knew it would be. Last year was a waste..we knew it would be. Please for the love of god don't catch Boston. There is no reason! We accept this team needed to be torn down totally and rebuilt. Next year we finally may have some excitement...even maybe a real team to cheer for. There is no extra happiness or value any fan derives from ONLY being the 4th worst team in the league. It truly is NO DIFFERENT than the 3rd worst team in the league. There is however a difference between drafting 4th and decreasing your odds of being a top 3 pick and being 4th with lesser odds. These are valuable positions where our team might get another star here or positions which other teams may find valuable to fill our coffers with assets. We have waited far too long for this team to get some high level talent. Catching Boston would just be plain flat out foolish. Please no more winning until next year...then you can win all you want!

We can worry about these ping pong balls until the cows come home but just remember Boston AND the Lakers will be in the lottery and this is the NBA.

  8. Hopefully we can win three more games to move down to the 7 spot in the draft. It would be AWESOME to know we won at least 24 games. Next stop championship. Someone needs to get a grip and go on a 76ers losing streak to end the year. I could see us getting dropping to 7 and then having to use both our first rounders to move up to #3 for Wiggins or Parker. Really the season is awful and finishing the 7th worst team in the NBA nets us nothing...

This makes no sense to me?

  9. Okay. I understand we're not that good, but what really bothers me about this team is that we don't have an identity. This comes from the coaching staff. Can we be a young running team? Can we be a defensive minded team? Can we rebound? Can we beat you up? Can we just be a good fundamental team? What I see is a bunch of guys with no real direction and not improving too much. I know JV was brought in for a massive rebuild and probably told he has 3-4 years leeway but please focus on a plan to make the guys we have better already.

  10. Well we had that coming. Before "they" made their run, the Magic kept ending plays with Glen Davis shooting. That assures our losses. Aaron Afflalo is nonexistent tonight. He simply doesn't look interested. Other than that, no one else can't be relied on to win this game. Although the Magic are still decently in the game, we're not consistent or gritty enough to win.

    We play the clippers Monday.

Nothing like Baby on the left block for an off balance fade away with three seconds on the clock. Tank on.
