This was another tough one to watch. The starters played uninspired again and dug another hole for the subs to get out of. These guys missed so many threes because they weren't the right type of threes, you know the ones where Payton draws the defense in and then really sets a guy up with some room to shoot. Victor played hard but he isn't a point guard, that pounding the ball out on the perimeter just drives me crazy. Vuc and Harris sure seem to be shrinking in the moment lately. I knew this would be a tough stretch and everyone could see it coming even after the last few wins but if this team doesn't right the ship against Brooklyn you might see some real problems.

It's always nice to get a W especially when you don't play all that well. I wonder how different this game would have been with a healthy Payton? I think if any of us were offered this record after 32 games at the beginning of the year we would have jumped on it. The next eight games look like a very difficult stretch to me. I'll be very happy to go .500. Happy New Year.

Hate to say it but Paytons defense on Dragic was horrible, no way that dude should be scoring like that. Dipo needs to learn how to finish at the rim, it's hard to watch a professional basketball player miss so many lay ups. This was just a bad game on so many levels.

Two games in a row now that this team could have folded and didn't. Young guns getting battle tested. Tobias and Evan were clutch and VO had maybe the best 0-9 game ever.

This is the type of game the Magic would have lost in past years. Glad to see them answer every challenge down the stretch and pull away instead of fold. How can Vuch play mostly inside banging for 35 minutes and not get to the line once? Something really needs to be done about this

Most entertaining game this year. Great ball movement led to great shots. Great defense led to a lot of steals. Very nice. Alright I'll say it after a couple of dunks and big threes Dedmon reminded me a little of Duhon.

I didn't see the game and forgot to record it, probably a good thing. Taking the temperature of this board it must have been worse than the box score (if that's possible). Everyone had to know how this game would play out cavs get to play rough and not get fouls called and the Magic stand there and take it. The way I see the Magic it's like this they will beat most of the bad teams and if they play their best they can compete with some of the better teams if they don't play their best you get games like this. A quarter of the way through the season, it's a process.

We lost to the Clips. What if (give me a break) you sound like Mic Huber of whatever his name is.

Good balanced scoring but not the best game they have played. Minny doubled up the Magic on free throw attempts. My hope is if they keep winning maybe the league will see fit to give them a few more calls. Glad to see this team doesn't pout when they are getting screwed by the refs, they just continue to go about their business. A lot of talk about player of the game Vic or Nicholson, both played well but Vooch played strong and dominated Towns unlike their first meeting. It's a good feeling looking at the rest of this road trip and knowing this team has a chance to win every night. Not saying they will because that is a tall order but there is hope.

This win was about good team defense and rebounding (especially on the offensive end). Nic played mean Tobias played great in every facet and Nicholson played with energy. We got a winning streak.

He hates coming off the bench. You can see this in his post game interviews both after the NY game and tonight. He's pissed and that's good, nothing like a bid chip on your shoulder.

Dipo coming of the bench worked tonight but is only temporary. Skiles just looking for the spark for right now. Magic played a really good unselfish game and even though the shot more free throws it still looks to me like they get no respect on many calls. When the Magic picked up Jason Smith who would have ever thought he was a Badass?

Two observations from last nights game. First the Magics defensive rebounding was amazing, I'm not sure if Miini got an offensive board in the second half. Second the Magic got off 110 shots (only made 37% though) I know they have stepped up the pace over last year but 110 is just sic.

The Magic got off 100 shots. That's a lot of misses. An ugly win is still a win. I would love to see Skiles at practice today.

Any of you stat guys out there have a way to figure out just how bad the Magic really are at finishing at the rim?
